I swear, Disney needs to get on the ball and cast Kirstie as some kind of princess. She'd slay any role. Great reaction! I love the way what you're feeling about the song just shines right through.

Glad you got to this one...this is one of my favorites with Kirsti taking it front to back in a great emotional arc. Starting out sad and depressed, ending angry and defiant, it's like a mini-drama. I also love the way the song is constructed, especially when they build the harmony one-by-one in the middle. And of course it's always a treat to hear Avi and Kevin get a vocal turn. Thanks!
Kirsty really shined in this....lovely to see her doing the lead. Avi's solo part made me cry....I love his voice....his face...his emotion... loved his duet with the cello lol.....

This song gets me every time! I read that they had to make Scott grip onto the backs of those chairs so he wouldn’t use his hands like he usually does when he sings. Must have been extremely difficult for him!
I've been thinking he looks almost zombie-like in this one. Figured it was just the deathly-white hair, but his uncharacteristic static position is another big factor.

Kevin was the youngest person to perform at Carnegie Hall.
Age 17 playing a horn.
Yale grad, was headed to medical school then Scott found him on youtube and they needed a beatboxer. He already had a massive number of hit/watches.
They are now all multimillionaires and of course Avi has been gone from the group for quite awhile pursuing his own solo career.
Kirstins ability to hold a note with no vibrato and have it pull your heart....she's amazing

This one gives me all the feels. Try Run To You, it's an original and it's beautiful.
Wow! This was from their earlier years. Kevin is a BEAST with perfect pitch. They all tune to him and watching KO Beatboxing and Cello at the same time. Kevin has a Musical Degree from Yale.
The great harmony comes from their childhood. Scott and Mitch met when they were 10 years old and Kirstin got involved in CATS= Community Arts Theater a couple of years later. They had their own 3 member band but NBC said to participate in the "Sing-off" it had to be 5 or more. They found Kevin through his own UA-cam channel and Avi was a friend of a friend.

Another emotionally driven song you may want to check out by them is Thank You. It’s on their Christmas album they just released this last year. Kevin plays the cello and Scott the piano. It’s such a beautifully written song.

This is only the 2nd or 3rd reaction I’ve seen. I subscribed after the last one and rang the bell after watching this one. I’m a Pentaholic, but I also love Home Free and Voctave. If you love acapella as I do, you will enjoy both of those groups.
Yeah, PTX songs always get us in the feels. This one brought me back to past relationships and just made my heart ache. Thanks for your open-hearted reactions. Have you done their cover of Kiiara's 'Gold' yet? Like their Daft Punk medley, PTX took all the special effects used in the original and distilled them down to raw voice. Mitch slays it.

Before kEVIN CAME TO pENTATONIX, HE ACTUALLY DID ACAPELLA cELL WITH HIS MOUTH AND IF YOU TAKE CARE TO NOTICE, HE IS PLAYING THE cELLO WITHOUT USING HIS BOW EXCEPT TOTAAP WITH IT FOR AT LEAST A MINUTE INTO THE SONG. How much more he does without the actual strings I do not know but he is one very talented man.
