I have never expected this current Baleno will excel in all the aspects considering the Maruti's old (sedan) Baleno history. But this year understanding the market Maruti has launched two beautiful cars in mid size sedan segment and in hatchback segment. Keep it up Maruti team.

Hey ankit you there some points in specification you need to rectify in this video
1. 15 inch steel wheel till zeta version only alpha gives 16 inch alloy wheel
2. kseries 1.2 is petrol engine and not diesel engine
3. boot space is 339 ltr and not 350 ltr

Because of its light weight I have heard that it can be unsafe especially on highways. Suspension is also not comfortable; and corners might be an issue. Are these criticism of Baleno true; I am planning to purchase its petrol Zeta Varian.

One more problem with Baleno:- Its boot lift is very high.. Loading and unloading of luggage is difficult..
And rear seat head room is low..
So if someone with 6.2" will find it unconfortable..
I would suggest you to go and check Honda Jazz once..
It is most spacious car in this category..
Bootspace is biggest, windows are big.. And quality of material is definetely better than Baleno..
On safety standard, Jazz has scored 5 stars in euroncap ratings..
But Honda's maintenance cost is little bit higher than Maruti Suzuki..
So if you are concerned about it, then buy Baleno..
Or else Honda Jazz offers you the best package:- Space, Safety, Features, Performance..
Thank you all for your generous inputs. Jazz's maintenance is double as Baleno's; former is considered to be around 7k/year compared to Baleno's which is around 3.5k/year! For common daily Indian these things confuses a lot :) Thanks anyway!

Nawazish Khan Get the alpha one. Back camera is embedded in the boot so it also shows the back of your car along with censor lines for proper judgement when in reverse gear.
The led day time running lights and projector headlamps are killing!
Diesel or petrol? Its your choice. Obviously people like me prefer diesel as its a bit cheaper than petrol
170cm. ground clearance? Average 26Km/Lt.? pl.confirm !
One big problem: Huge waiting period. 6 to 9 months. ek baar jab ichcha ho gai gaadi khareeedane ki, then how can one wait so long?

Need comparison between Maruti Baleno Vs Hyundai Elite i20
Coz I'm planning to buy in next month, just waiting for Mahindra KUV100 to launch on 15th January 2016
After that i can decide which is better, but till now I'm stuck into this 2 cars, so need clarification.
One is good in performance and other is good at interiors and technology inside.

great review sir... we can add many things like Maruti suzuki engine is more familiar to small car mechanics out side the city if stuck on odd places... servicing cost and labour charges by MS is also very low than Hyundai any may.....
go for baleno coz it has good looking n many features which is major reason for buy it...only Swift lover will go for swift but others should go for baleno...

Guys please tell me honestly that how the Baleno car is ? Is it right for the users? Also tell me the ride of the baleno. Don't misguide the peoples because spending 7-8 lakhs again n again is not an easier for a middle class family. As i have seen lots of negative comments on different - different sites, all the comments and reviews has made me totally confused to buy a Baleno. Please tell me honestly should i go for Baleno or for other cars.

Baleno is a good car it has everything that a hatchback needs in terms of features and all.The only thing is the plastic used inside gives a less premium feel the plastic quality is not good. i20 active can be also considerd when buying an hatchback. i20 has everything in it interior is also good and it gives a premium feel as well but where is lacks is the mileage which is less than of baleno. When buying a car mileage acts as an important role according to Indian market. Weight of baleno is under 1 tonne so it JUST MIGHT not give you a pleasant feel in triple digit speed oh highway. ( A TEST DRIVE WILL CLEAR IT) If you're planning to buy a petrol version go for Baleno if diesel check out i20.

Despite soo many negative about Baleno..build quality... Poor plastic. But although... Thats the reasons I finally decided n booked Baleno Zeta Petrol.
Even though I have a Baleno (2nd car after Honda City), I wont complain for the product I have. But there are few concerns that are present.
Anyway, I cant argue with the title & content of video, but a potential buyer should get to know both the sides of the coin..!!

Nice to see Maruti finally coming up with a reasonable car which actually gives a competition to Hyundai and Honda both in terms of performance,safety and features. But I felt you are over hyping it.. Sure its an amazing car but not worth as much as the hype yuo have provided here..

since being such a light weight, what about its crash protection against accidents of models sold in India accident while ,I heard its very poor . its european version get 3star safety ratings but what about its Indian version, i saw the car and its body quality felt like an egg shell ..i prefer a car which is safe to drive.
Weight of baleno is under 1 tonne but it is 10% stronger than swift. :)
Dude.. Most of it is right apart from the sound system of Baleno. It's just ok. It's not in par with what Ford figo and Wolkswagen polo provides. They sound amazing in comparison to baleno.

Maybe this video was made before comparing Baleno with the 2016 i20. After thoroughly testing both cars I still feel i20 takes the cake this year as well in both features and appearance when considering the Top variants. Performance wise both car feels almost same. This video feels more like a fanboy review. It's funny though.
I dont think i20 has EBD which is very important safety feature
The only advantage i20 has over Baleno is that the i20 seems to be slightly better in quality of interiors and 6 airbags in its highest version.
