But the fact of the matter is Baleno is only available in 300 cities (as it is sold through Nexa) but Swift is available is almost 2000 cities! And for people in those 1700 cities, Swift is the only premium hatchback from the maruti stable. So this close pricing wont affect Swift sales at all, its a win win for Maruti
You'd be fool a to buy Swift from your local seller from a very low tier city, I mean even suburbs of tier 3 industrial cities have Nexa. Why not just travel a few KM visit the nearby nexa and register in your local RTO, I'm 100% sure this process is a breeze now as I've transferred my Kushaq onto my father's name in Kanpur without paying a single paisa as bribe, it took me 3 visits but at every step RTO officers were helpful.

The problem is that the version of Swift which is sold in India is of very low quality, body sheet metal, safety, chassis, interior plastic-wise, but the one sold in Japan and Australia is a 5 star rated Swift which costs same as other good cars in US like Mazda 3, BRZ, Miata, Polo, Civic which are way better in every deparyment from Swift, only if suzuki had launched their cars in early 2000 or 90s they would have enough fans to make for the sale.
They are named toyota lookalike as it's a partner and has good sales figures though.reason might be the engines which produces less than 100hp which isn't suitable for us roads which has avg speed of above 110kmph and safety standards as well
As I own the 3rd Gen Swift, the latest one absolutely is an absolute disaster. In the hope to make it more feature oriented, downsizing the peppy 1.2 K-Series was the worst Maruti could have done. Engine is the main reason Swift was a success, looks like Swift is trying too hard to be like i20, really weird strategy.

First generation swift and second generation swift were both amazing and fun to drive. Both first generation swift and second generation swift were even heavier then the third and fourth generation swift.

2nd Generation Swift was something, I wasn't a big fan when my parents got it but damn, how naive I was, it's been 10 years now and it is still running better than 2019 Baleno my aunt got.
I'm 5'9 and don't consider myself to be tall enough but I find driving Baleno really uncomfortable compared to my Swift. Swift has a much better field of view.
The only point Swift had was a 4 cylinder engine , now its gone. So baleno is better choice. But skip both of them and buy a well built car & safe car.

Anytime Baleno/Glanza As a primary car Baleno/Glanza offers more practicality as it offers more front and rear seat space and comfort, it has good dyanmics for city as well as highway - comfortable ride, and the no nonsense 4 cylinder ultra refined engine with its reliability , more premium interior , better road presence and more VFM . Anyday i will go for baleno .
Baleno alpha AMT is very much better option then 3 cylinder swift and in feature wise Baleno is much premium option then swift like armrest UV cut glass, heads up display and 360 camera
We got one last year and it replaced our 10 yr old i20. Though its light years behind in outright performance of the Hyundai it shines in all other areas, grabbing the fuel efficiency trophy whenever we do an intercity run.
the best Suzuki engine ever was the 1.3L DDiS engine. it gets more lively with few tuning i.e new turbo a performance air filter & free flow exhaust. A slightly modified 2009 swift DDiS can SMOKEEEE almost all modern hot hatchbacks launched in India.
Baleno old diesel car we enjoyed a lot on long drives, this new petrol car is good, front and rear led lights must be changed, looking ugly...both sides...
Fronxx delta plus has lot of missing features at 10 lakhs, no armrest no 9 inch infotainment system no uv cut glass no push button start stop button which ignis Swift gets or even Baleno
The SWIFT speed recognition system is defective. Suzuki refuse to acknowledge this and hide behind legislation to avoid dealing with this dangerous feature as it would cost them too much to fix it. It cannot recognise all signs and Suzuki acknowledged that it will not work in all road situations yet refuse to offer a fix. The Dealers are equally complicit, keeping silent about this feature during the entire sales process. These features make the car, the MOST irritating thing to drive and I really would not recommend this car to anyone.
@4:20 rear headroom is good in baleno ??? Really .. his head is touching roof of the baleno. Whereas in swift there still more headroom @2:34. Gen 4 swift with that 3 cylinder engine is simply 👎. Swift definitely lacks rear leg room. But the roof height is far better than baleno. Suzuki/maruti not providing an armrest on the swift is too bad . They can atleast sell it as an OEM accessory. The 2nd gen diesel swift was leagues ahead sporty than baleno( baleno rs being an exception still). Swift is outright sporty . Baleno is for comfort looks more executive.

10 Lakhs for a 3 cylinder Swift is simply beyond my understanding. I would rather go for segment above.
Baleno is gonna get the 3 cyl very soon. Actually they're gonna replace the k series 4 cyl with this Z series 3 pot in every car soon.
