Guys I’m less than 2 weeks away from being baptised in the church, my joy and excitement cannot be understated… praying for others like me going through RCIA and those coming back for confirmation. God bless ❤️
Baptism is the greatest gift my parents gave to me as a 5 month old on 12/21/1958; my mother was Protestant and my father was Catholic yet my mom married in the Catholic Church behind the altar rail in 1956 and promised to raise us Catholic, and she did; she was a huge part of my reversion to my Catholic faith for the last 6 years of her life before she died at the age of 93. Baptize your children and like my mom and dad, be humble and grateful in all circumstances 😊❤️🙏Thank you Fr Mike and thank you mom and dad for keeping your promise to God.
Jesus Christ dying was the greatest gift. I am a part of what the Bible calls church and not a part of Catholicism, because I’m in the body of Christ, which are saved people. That’s what the Bible means by church. Why add on to it and create Catholic, orthodox, and all these denominations that are worthless?
@@alil6547 the apostles and church fathers wrote letters to other churches to reinforce the teachings of Christ. The bible is a compilation of these writings that tell the best version of the truth of Christ the authors had. Before those letters the church ran for decades. Before the bible was canonized the church had been going for over 4 centuries. Tell me how the church functioned without a bible for 4 centuries if it’s the only thing you believe in? Your view of the church’s history has a Protestant twist to it which is perverted. Christ started the church. If you are a follower of Christ you should be in his church and not something else. You need to stop believing the lies you’ve been told and read the church fathers writings, including all the letters that were written the same time as the gospels. 60 AD onwards. You will discover that the universal church has the dogma and traditions these first Christian’s preached and taught. Everything from The 7 sacraments Intercession of the saints Mary’s perpetual virginity and assumption to heaven Apostolic succession Primacy of Peter Peter’s successors Confession to priests Sunday as the lords day And more … all of them church traditions as taught by the apostles. All of them Catholic.

i was baptized when i was ten years old. it was the happiest day of my life. it felt so magical and i was absolutely euphoric. i vividly remember how warm and silky and sparkly the water was, and how bizarrely pleasant it was to be damp afterward, and how i could see the dust motes in the air because of the heavenly light that shone down on us through the stained glass windows. i even remember how they explained that we were going to suffer and probably die for choosing Jesus and we had to be sure and I was completely positive about it and cried "YES!!!" people would be so much happier if they realized that the only soulmate there is is JESUS.
I’m going through RCIA, and I’m so profoundly grateful, happy, and excited! I feel like this is the first time in a long, long time where I’m truly LIVING, and it’s all by the Grace of God!

I catechize children age 3-12 and it is terrifying to see the absence of grace in children who are not baptized and whose parents are not seeking it for their child. I see children who cannot look at a crucifix, who say can you take the voices out of my head, and who manifest stomach aches at catechism time. It is heartbreaking. Please pray for the unbaptized.
As a priest who engages in deliverance ministry and collaborates with our diocesan exorcist, I identify that as a form of demonic oppression. Those poor kids need baptism PLUS their families to live an active life of faith and grace! I encourage you to pray a Binding Prayer before class. In an extreme case I met a woman, who was away from the church, for spiritual direction. She was experiencing sudden sleepiness and she said to me, “I’m feeling as if I don’t want to listen to you, Father.” When I raised my right hand and responded, “In the name of Jesus Christ I command you, spirit of lethargy, to leave this woman”, she fell to the floor and began to demonically manifest. I myself experience strong sleepiness at times when trying to pray the rosary, or I get a stomach ache. These are simply ways that the devil tires to distract us in the moment when we are trying to engage with God.

I was baptized when I was 10 days old, but it wasn't until I was a Church sponsor to an RCIA catechumen that I understood the full weight of what that meant. In one sense, I felt like I was being baptized all over again, but in another, much more glorious sense, I realized the fire of the Holy Spirit had burned within me so strongly because I was His real daughter. Still gives me chills remembering that Easter Vigil. God's wonders never cease to amaze and thrill us.

Hi Fr. Mike. Can you please make a new video about why we shouldn't miss Holy Mass on Sunday and importance of the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Both topics in one video, maybe? Sadly I have friends and family who think it's not a big deal to miss Sunday Mass and that confession is not necessary, even though they are Catholic. I'm sure there are many Catholics who think the same. The reason I'm asking you is because you explain everything so beautifully, with charity, but firm in what our Church teaches. God bless you Fr. Mike and thank you for all you do.

I learned When I went to catechism online The video more than the class . It went more deep on the video then I did my class and that was 1 on 1 Is in my class Because of my work hours I'm gonna get off at 2 AM in the morning So uh the one person Priest Assigned to me on Sundays I sure don't know why I missed all that . I learned so much more on the videos what we actually believe . I am grateful that I came back Catholic Church . When I came back I did all my confessions holy communion .going to mass

I watched this in RCIA tonight. I thank Fr. Mike for staying with traditional teachings. Universalism was taught in my old church and that is not biblical. There are hard teachings that we would like to not think about. Many of us love people who reject the opportunity to become part of God's family. But truth is truth. Fr. Mike teaches truth firmly but always with great love. It is important to know truth so we can continue to pray and make sacrifices for those people who decline the invitation to baptism.

POPE BENEDICT XVI: “It’s important that we don’t lose the splendor of the faith - that we remain believers, Christians, Catholics, in the sense that Catholic always means “open to the world”... which means being tolerant and open, one to the other, in heartfelt brotherhood to everyone who belongs to our one Father and who are all loved by the one Lord.”
When I was a child, I asserted this Catholic truth about baptism that I learned in Catholic school: that only the baptized were children of God, but I was shouted down by the Catholic adults after Vatican II, and also by the priests.
I was baptized in a different faith and a few years later back-slid into a life of sin for many years. I ended up converting to the Catholic faith, which recognizes that baptism, and found confession, penance, the Rosary, etc, to have a greater affect on me than my baptism.
Very uplifting… demands personal pondering- am a baptized Catholic, but this clarifies what happens in Baptism more strongly… it was confusing always because it usually happens to a unaware small child-thanks for your words and channel😊

My so was already 3 months old when he was baptized because of that whereas in a different diocese, my daughter was only a couple weeks old because we could schedule before she was born. It should be urgent to baptize our little ones so they can be covered by God's grace and become an adopted child of God as soon as possible! Beth's Beauty Diaru, to answer your question...once a child has reached the age of 8, to be baptized into the Catholic church, they MUST go through the RCIA Program, which is most likely at least 2 years or as long as it takes fir them to comprehend what they are doing. Never heard of 1 day baptism in Mexico and I live 8 miles from the border. A Catholic is a Catholic wherever... Are you sure you're talking about a valid Catholic baptism?
God the Father is the Father of all whether or not they have been baptized. Hebrews 12:9 9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live? Everyone has a spirit. The Father is the Father of all spirits whether baptized or not. Upon baptism we become the children of Jesus. This is how Jesus is the Everlasting Father foretold of by Isaiah. All are children of the Father. Those that have entered into sacred covenants and taken upon themselves the name of Christ by proper priesthood authority then become the children of Christ thus being children of God in two ways. Children of the Father and children of the Son.
Surely the adopted word is unusual? I thought we were all God's children. As He said He knew us before we were born; probably before we were even conceived. He knows everyone who was, is, and will be. So I've always thought we are all God's children. I have to remind myself of this when someone cuts me off in the traffic🤦
Because of original sin we are born as enemies of God. Only through baptism do we remove original sin and we are adopted children of God, restoring that relationship.

Father can you do a video about former catholics that go to a protestant church now and get re-babtized "born again." Can you shed light on that? And is that person saved because they did that?
Question. My brother has 2 kids. Both have not been baptized. The wife doesn’t like organized religion. Plus, they never got married through the church. I’ve heard both the Catholic version and baptists using biblical scripture. My question, even though the kids were not baptized, how should I go about this? I always thought about it symbolic cause humans use a lot of symbolism. But in the spirit word, it’s different than what we see. What kind of concerns should I worry about? I’m really worried about everything.
The baptism is not symbolic; it is a sacrament. It is a real avenue of God's grace into the lives of His people. But do not worry, pray the holy rosary for your brother's children every day (if you cannot do everyday, then try at least every week) and Virgin Mary will lead them to God and kindle in them a desire to receive the sacraments. Everytime you are worried, say a prayer for your family.
Hi Fr Mike I thought I’d contact you to see if you can help me?I am an amateur film maker and I love how your subtitles on your catechism videos work could you tell me how it’s done?God bless u Simon
I hate to go against the grain here, because I hate conflict, but I just can't seem to let this go, so bear with Father Mike ! If you are saved by infant baptism, then surely this undermines the work of the cross. Why did Jesus bother to die for our sins if a sprinkling of water does the same job? In my mind baptism is a declaration of our belief because we have heard the word and repented of our sins. It does not 'do' anything. In my office conversations about God, one colleague said " well I am a Christian because I have been christened" now she does not go to church, or profess a faith. Therefore the assumption by some folks is that as long as they have that christening then they get to heaven. I am responding because I genuinely worry that folks are misled, I know people on here are for the most part better informed than that, but there is no specific instruction for infant baptism that I can see, I had an interesting reply to my comments from the last video, which was food for thought. I still can't square it up with the gospel. Keep the videos coming because they are really thought provoking.
Have you considered that this man in the video is himself not saved and will be tremendously surprised and shocked when God tells him that He never knew him?

@@jerome2642 yeah it’s to show the world that you’ve washed your sin away with the blood of Christ. Read Romans 10 and repeat in your head that you need to be baptized to be saved, you won’t. Also acts 2:38 the better translation from the Greek would be “BECAUSE of the forgiveness of your sins” according to scholars. And true, we get baptized after we’re declared righteous before God by His blood.
Jesus said in Mark 16:16 " he that BELIEVES and is baptized shall be saved.." so, can a baby believe? In Acts 2:38 Peter said ,"REPENT and be baptized in the name of Jesus for the forgiveness of sins..." so, can a baby repent? In Col 2:12 it says," You were BURIED with Jesus in baptism, in which you were also raised with him THROUGH FAITH". So, how do you bury someone when you sprinkle them? How are they raised up? and how is a baby raised up with Jesus THROUGH FAITH? and the same goes with pouring water on some one. When and how are they buried? how are they raised?
Mark is talking about adults under regular circumstances (meaning no serious mental disability, no imminent death, etc) that would apply to 99.9% of people. For those who die as babies, for example exceptions can be made since they lacked the ability to have faith. In a similar way, for those who are about to die, like the thief who died next to Jesus, exceptions can be made for lack of baptism. Hope this helped!

@@DaleSchwanke LOL Gen. 17:12, Lev. 12:3 - these texts show the circumcision of eight-day old babies as the way of entering into the Old Covenant - Col 2:11-12 - however, baptism is the new “circumcision” for all people of the New Covenant. Therefore, baptism is for babies as well as adults. God did not make His new Covenant narrower than the old Covenant. To the contrary, He made it wider, for both Jews and Gentiles, infants and adults. Job 14:1-4 - man that is born of woman is full of trouble and unclean. Baptism is required for all human beings because of our sinful human nature. Psalm 51:5 - we are conceived in the iniquity of sin. This shows the necessity of baptism from conception. Matt. 18:2-5 - Jesus says unless we become like children, we cannot enter into heaven. So why would children be excluded from baptism? Matt 19:14 - Jesus clearly says the kingdom of heaven also belongs to children. There is no age limit on entering the kingdom, and no age limit for being eligible for baptism. Mark 10:14 - Jesus says to let the children come to Him for the kingdom of God also belongs to them. Jesus says nothing about being too young to come into the kingdom of God. Mark 16:16 - Jesus says to the crowd, “He who believes and is baptized will be saved.” But in reference to the same people, Jesus immediately follows with “He who does not believe will be condemned.” This demonstrates that one can be baptized and still not be a believer. This disproves the Protestant argument that one must be a believer to be baptized. There is nothing in the Bible about a “believer’s baptism.” Luke 18:15 - Jesus says, “Let the children come to me.” The people brought infants to Jesus that he might touch them. This demonstrates that the receipt of grace is not dependent upon the age of reason. Acts 2:38 - Peter says to the multitude, “Repent and be baptized..” Protestants use this verse to prove one must be a believer (not an infant) to be baptized. But the Greek translation literally says, “If you repent, then each one who is a part of you and yours must each be baptized” (“Metanoesate kai bapistheto hekastos hymon.”) This, contrary to what Protestants argue, actually proves that babies are baptized based on their parents’ faith. This is confirmed in the next verse. Acts 2:39 - Peter then says baptism is specifically given to children as well as adults. “Those far off” refers to those who were at their “homes” (primarily infants and children). God’s covenant family includes children. The word “children” that Peter used comes from the Greek word “teknon” which also includes infants. Luke 1:59 - this proves that “teknon” includes infants. Here, John as a “teknon” (infant) was circumcised. See also Acts 21:21 which uses “teknon” for eight-day old babies. So baptism is for infants as well as adults. Acts 10:47-48 - Peter baptized the entire house of Cornelius, which generally included infants and young children. There is not one word in Scripture about baptism being limited to adults. Acts 16:15 - Paul baptized Lydia and her entire household. The word “household” comes from the Greek word “oikos” which is a household that includes infants and children. Acts 16:15 - further, Paul baptizes the household based on Lydia’s faith, not the faith of the members of the household. This demonstrates that parents can present their children for baptism based on the parents’ faith, not the children’s faith. Acts 16:30-33 - it was only the adults who were candidates for baptism that had to profess a belief in Jesus. This is consistent with the Church’s practice of instructing catechumens before baptism. But this verse does not support a “believer’s baptism” requirement for everyone. See Acts 16:15,33. The earlier one comes to baptism, the better. For those who come to baptism as adults, the Church has always required them to profess their belief in Christ. For babies who come to baptism, the Church has always required the parents to profess the belief in Christ on behalf of the baby. But there is nothing in the Scriptures about a requirement for ALL baptism candidates to profess their own belief in Christ (because the Church has baptized babies for 2,000 years). Acts 16:33 - Paul baptized the jailer (an adult) and his entire household (which had to include children). Baptism is never limited to adults and those of the age of reason. See also Luke 19:9; John 4:53; Acts 11:14; 1 Cor. 1:16; and 1 Tim. 3:12; Gen. 31:41; 36:6; 41:51; Joshua 24:15; 2 Sam. 7:11, 1 Chron. 10:6 which shows “oikos” generally includes children. Rom. 5:12 - sin came through Adam and death through sin. Babies’ souls are affected by Adam’s sin and need baptism just like adult souls. Rom. 5:15 - the grace of Jesus Christ surpasses that of the Old Covenant. So children can also enter the new Covenant in baptism. From a Jewish perspective, it would have been unthinkable to exclude infants and children from God’s Covenant kingdom. 1 Cor. 1:16 - Paul baptized the household (“oikos”) of Stephanus. Baptism is not limited to adults. Eph. 1:1; Col. 1:2 - Paul addresses the “saints” of the Church, and these include the children he addresses in Eph. 6:1 and Col. 3:20. Children become saints of the Church only through baptism. Eph. 2:3 - we are all by nature children of wrath, in sin, like all mankind. Infants are no exception. See also Psalm 51:5 and Job 14:1-4 which teach us we are conceived in sin and born unclean. 2 Thess. 3:10 - if anyone does not work let him not eat. But this implies that those who are unable to work should still be able to eat. Babies should not starve because they are unable to work, and should also not be denied baptism because they are unable to make a declaration of faith. Matt. 9:2; Mark 2:3-5 - the faith of those who brought in the paralytic cured the paralytic’s sins. This is an example of the forgiveness of sins based on another’s faith, just like infant baptism. The infant child is forgiven of sin based on the parents’ faith. Matt. 8:5-13 - the servant is healed based upon the centurion’s faith. This is another example of healing based on another’s faith. If Jesus can heal us based on someone else’s faith, then He can baptize us based on someone else’s faith as well. Mark 9:22-25 - Jesus exercises the child’s unclean spirit based on the father’s faith. This healing is again based on another’s faith. 1 Cor. 7:14 - Paul says that children are sanctified by God through the belief of only one of their parents. Exodus 12:24-28 - the Passover was based on the parent’s faith. If they did not kill and eat the lamb, their first-born child died. Joshua 5:2-7 - God punished Israel because the people had not circumcised their children. This was based on the parent’s faith. The parents play a critical role in their child’s salvation.
Yes, we are all descended from Adam, but the thing is that Adam sinned and broke his relationship with God. We inherit original sin from Adam (plus we all have our own personal sins) but we are saved through Christ's sacrifice. Therefore, we have to reclaim our sonship/daughtership with God through the sacraments that were institutedby Christ. We are baptized in the name of Jesus Christ and through Him we can again be called sons and daughters of God.
Baptism is not only for the forgiveness of sins. Acts 2:41 Peter replied, “Repent and be BAPTIZED, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Also through baptism we become part of the body, 1 Corinthians 12:13 For in one Spirit we were all baptized INTO one body Also through baptism we are clothed with the Holy Spirit Galatians 3:26-27 For you are ALL children of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For ALL of you who were baptized into Christ have CLOTHED yourselves with Christ. Don’t get kicked out of the WEDDING for not wearing proper CLOTHING. Matthew 22:11-13 But when the king came in to see the guests, he noticed a man there who was not wearing wedding CLOTHES. He asked, “How did you get in here without wedding CLOTHES, friend?”. The man was speechless. Then the king said to his aides, “Bind his hands and feet and throw him into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” John 3:5 Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of WATER and the SPIRIT, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.”
Hello Fr Mike, I am confused. Why does the Pope say “we are all children of God” if you say we need to be baptised to be one? Please enlighten me. Thank you.
The Bible no doubt teaches that infants are saved. Isaiah writes that there is an age before a child is able to “know to refuse the evil and choose the good” (Is. 7:16). The children of Israel were not held responsible for the sins of their parents during the Wandering, because they had “no knowledge of good or evil” (Deut. 1:39). They inherited the land-the blessing of God-because they were ignorant to the sins of their parents. Therefore, God didn’t punish them for what they could not have known. In this passage, David said he would go to be with his infant baby, who had died (2 Sam. 12:23). David believed in an afterlife, and he thought that he was going to be with God after death (Ps. 16:10-11), and the NT authors claim that he is in heaven, too (Rom. 4:6-8). This demonstrates that his infant must also be in heaven. In addition, Jesus implies that little children will be in heaven (Mk. 10:14; Mt. 18:3; 19:14), and he claimed that there were those who were “blind” to sin (Jn. 9:41). The claim forgotten is not the word baptism in the sense of literal water baptism of all nations but rather spiritual baptism in the name of Jesus of all nations. It was about the message of Christ not docking people underwater as some sort of ritualistic “ mystical power” The Greek word for baptism is “baptizo” (pronounced bap-TEASE-oh), which literally means “to dip repeatedly, to immerse, to submerge (of vessels sunk).” This word describes immersion into Jesus himself (1 Cor. 12:13; Gal. 3:27), fire (Mt. 3:11), suffering (Mt. 10:38-40), judgment (Lk. 12:50), and Moses (1 Cor. 10:2). Because baptism can refer to any number of substances, we need to look to the context to understand its meaning. Surely baptism into Christ is essential for salvation (1 Cor. 12:13), but is water baptism necessary? We do not believe so for a number of reasons: First, there is not a single passage in the NT that states that we will be damned without being baptized. The Bible universally teaches that salvation is by faith alone (Jn. 1:12; Gal. 2:16; Eph. 2:8-9; Phil. 3:9). Moreover, when the Philippian jailor asked Paul what he should do to be saved, he simply said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved” (Acts 16:31). That is, Paul didn’t add the condition of baptism. If baptism was necessary for salvation, then the thief on the cross would not really be saved, because he was never baptized. And yet, Jesus affirmed that he would be in heaven (Lk. 23:43). Second, Paul’s main ministry was not baptism-but preaching the gospel. If baptism was necessary for salvation, then why would Paul write this? “I thank God that I baptized none of you except Crispus and Gaius, 15 so that no one would say you were baptized in my name. 16 Now I did baptize also the household of Stephanas; beyond that, I do not know whether I baptized any other. 17 For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel…” (1 Cor. 1:14-17). Baptism was so unimportant to Paul that he couldn’t even remember who he baptized there. Paul writes that he is thankful that he didn’t baptize many in Corinth, but how would this fit with the notion that baptism is essential for salvation? Third, the Bible teaches that we can receive the Holy Spirit apart from baptism. Peter states, “Surely no one can refuse the water for these to be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we did, can he?” (Acts 10:47) Here, the spiritual baptism clearly occurred before the water baptism. Spiritual baptism is the clearest sign of salvation that we could have (Eph. 1:13-14; 4:30; 1 Cor. 12:13). While the NT does command us to be baptized as a sign of our conversion and commitment to Christ (Mt. 28:19), nowhere does it teach that baptism is necessary for salvation.

Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Acts 2:38 Why Baptize an Infant? They can not repent. I was raised Catholic. To be honest, I miss it. Reading the Bible myself had raised many questions, and I left.
You are making the mistake of interpreting the Bible in a strict and legalistic manner. It is true that God expects us to REPENT before we are baptized. But this principle only applies to human beings that CAN repent (i.e adults). For those human beings that CANNOT repent (i.e infants) , God understands that it is not their fault and so He has no objection if they are baptized without prior repentance. Do you think that God doesn't understand that infants are a special group of human beings ? Do you think that God doesn't realize that they CANNOT do certain things that adults can do? Ofcourse He does. And so you shouldn't expect God to apply the SAME rules and requirements to both infants and adults. The reason why the Catholic Church baptizes infants without requiring them (infants) to repent before baptism is because the Catholic Church understands that God knows that infants CANNOT repent and so He wouldn't deny them the graces and blessings of baptism because of something that is NOT THEIR FAULT. Secondly, even IF infants COULD Repent like adults, there wouldn't be any NEED for them to repent before baptism because they haven't committed any sins (unlike adults who are clearly guilty of commiting many sins ). Obviously, Peter told His audience to REPENT before being baptized because he was talking to human beings who have committed sins and who NEED to repent (it is only a sinner who needs repentance). Infants are human beings who have NOT committed any sins and they don't NEED to repent.
Please pray for me jason and for my godmother Diane and for all of our families and friends and neighbors for conversion and salvation and holiness and healing
You become a child of God when you believe and accept Christ (john 1- 12) Baptism doesn’t mean anything if you don’t receive the Holy Spirit 1st. Yes. We can receive the Holy Spirit before we get baptized.

I catechize children age 3-12 and it is terrifying to see the absence of grace in children who are not baptized and whose parents are not seeking it for their child.

Hi Father!! I’m on Day 32 of the CIY!! And it’s just mind blowing!!!!
Hope I can meet you Father or Talk to you. ❤️
I would like to meet him too.
I so appreciate you Father Mike!!
Good Morning and Thankyou for this Video Fr Mike. God bless you.
For whom Jesus died for our Salvation. Baptism is a beautiful miracle.
God bless everyone’s day ❤
God's grace is amazing 🙏 I recieved all of this before baptism. What a wonderful Father we have in God! 😊
I am struggling so hard to get any responses back from any of my local churches to find a church to baptize me! I have already given my life to Christ and my heart is on fire for how good our Lord is!
BLESS YOU & all the people that guided you on your yourney to grow closer to God, getting you baptised & becoming the priest you are today. THANK YOU. If you could only measure my gratitude... I am & feel so grateful. Love your neighbour as you love yourself... I am going to do a prayer for you father Mike Schmitz. You have no idea how much you are doing the Lord's work. Hope to talk to you in life in heaven or in earth one day God willing. Probably in Heaven though I live on another continent :p .
I baptized my grandson with my daughter’s approval even though she has abandoned the Catholic Church. I pray for my kids - my son says he is on the fence and my daughter has a fractured faith. God has brought me through terminal cancer with the brilliant miracle of remission. And yet my children fail to see God’s blazing mercy. Prayers continue for all.
"God has brought me through terminal cancer with the brilliant miracle of remission" and there were no doctors involved whatsoever? I think you´re not telling the truth.
@@peteraschaffenburg1 Of course there were doctors involved. I underwent experimental treatment as well as chemo and radiation. With those treatments I was still given a less than 2% chance to live 5 years but with lots of prayer for healing and strength to move forward, I am cancer free. My oncologist calls me a miracle. I’m not going to press my point - I am so sorry that you have not recognized light, God and miracles in your own life.
@@maryjojohnson8712 "My oncologist calls me a miracle." Then he is an idiot. You may claim your god did all that. Good for you but you have no reason to beliwve he did. I don´t need miracles in my life. My life is as good as it gets without supernatural baloney.

God bless you Father Mike 🙏
😃 Excellent Words today Father
Thanks, Fr Mike, this is incredible to understand and take in. Thank you for your efforts to explain our faith. God Bless. Claire.
You are appreciated Father Mike. You should do a panel with Scott Hahn, Keith Nestor, and other catholic voices discussing various topics., it would be amazing. God bless you
Thank you FatherMike. I needed to hear this message today.
“The early Church Fathers were so bold as to call this process 'divinization' and 'deification'...this is the primary reason why the Word became flesh...This is classic Christianity...the central fact of Christian salvation...This is just the message we need to place at the center of today's call for a 'New Evangelization.'” -'Called to Be the Children of God'
Wonderful! Thank you so much for this, Fr. Mike, I loved your analogy. If we truly understood and experienced interiorly the wonder of Baptism, I think we would die of joy!
Great news, indeed!
Thank you Father Mike. God bless you.
Brought a tear to my eye, very moving. Thank you Father 👍🙏
Me too! All these innocent children lured into religion without being asked.
Lutheran here. Thank you for this beautiful message.
When I was a child, I asserted this Catholic truth about baptism that I learned in Catholic school: that only the baptized were children of God, but I was shouted down by the Catholic adults after Vatican II, and also by the priests.
PRAISE JESUS HALLELUJAH!!!
You are always so clear but really clear and helpful.
Thank you yes you are loved by millions
I was baptized in a different faith and a few years later back-slid into a life of sin for many years. I ended up converting to the Catholic faith, which recognizes that baptism, and found confession, penance, the Rosary, etc, to have a greater affect on me than my baptism.
Thanks for your inspiration. God Bless

And my cat Izzy, is now quite upset. It's like you told her Santa doesn't exist. Say a prayer for her! 🐈
Yea, I am. I am a Christian Catholic.

Very uplifting… demands personal pondering- am a baptized Catholic, but this clarifies what happens in Baptism more strongly… it was confusing always because it usually happens to a unaware small child-thanks for your words and channel😊
Awesome reminder.

Anyone seen the new Guillermo Del Torro version of Pinocchio? This is an awesome example of Fr. Schmitz’s analogy.
“But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God,”
John 1:12 ESV
Received Him how? By hearing the Truth, believing it and obeying the command to receive Baptism.
It’s not some private bow your head and grant yourself forgiveness and eternal life because you believe a philosophical proposition.

It confuses me why some archdioceses/dioceses require a birth certificate before you can even schedule a baptism. My so was already 3 months old when he was baptized because of that whereas in a different diocese, my daughter was only a couple weeks old because we could schedule before she was born. It should be urgent to baptize our little ones so they can be covered by God's grace and become an adopted child of God as soon as possible! Thanks for always sharing these beautiful details of our faith!!
I always believed that we are all adopted children of God, because we are created in God's image, and god gives all of us a share of his divine life in our immortal souls.

I was baptized at age 13. I have mainly been to Baptist Churches. I don't understand why they say I can't join the church without being baptized again. Why would someone wait till Easter vigil to become a child of God? Doesn’t make any since to. Why would the Catholic Church teach to wait? What’s wrong with the day before, a week before, a month before Easter vigil to be baptized?
Actually that's not what the Church teaches. In fact she encourages us to receive it at once. It is just a tradition of some churches and makes sense in prudence.

I need to baptize my kids but they got to go to catechism for 3 years to get baptized… I’m hoping I can get it done in one day in Mexico. My eldest is 14 she takes AP classes as a freshman so she doesn’t have time for after school activities.
Hebrews 12:9
9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?
Everyone has a spirit. The Father is the Father of all spirits whether baptized or not. Upon baptism we become the children of Jesus. This is how Jesus is the Everlasting Father foretold of by Isaiah.
All are children of the Father. Those that have entered into sacred covenants and taken upon themselves the name of Christ by proper priesthood authority then become the children of Christ thus being children of God in two ways. Children of the Father and children of the Son.
I know someone who has said I would like my son to make his own decision to be baptized or not when he gets older. She is absolutely wrong

Read Romans 10 and repeat in your head that you need to be baptized to be saved, you won’t.

Gen.
There is nothing in the Bible about a “believer’s baptism.”
Luke 18:15 - Jesus says, “Let the children come to me.” The people brought infants to Jesus that he might touch them.

Father Mike Schmitz what can we do if we have grandchildren that we are not able to force our children to baptize them.
Aren't we all descended from Adam who the gospels call the son of God?
Yes, we are all descended from Adam, but the thing is that Adam sinned and broke his relationship with God. We inherit original sin from Adam (plus we all have our own personal sins) but we are saved through Christ's sacrifice. Therefore, we have to reclaim our sonship/daughtership with God through the sacraments that were institutedby Christ. We are baptized in the name of Jesus Christ and through Him we can again be called sons and daughters of God.

Don’t get kicked out of the WEDDING for not wearing proper CLOTHING.
Matthew 22:11-13
But when the king came in to see the guests, he noticed a man there who was not wearing wedding CLOTHES. He asked, “How did you get in here without wedding CLOTHES, friend?”. The man was speechless. Then the king said to his aides, “Bind his hands and feet and throw him into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”
John 3:5
Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of WATER and the SPIRIT, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.”
Hello Fr Mike,
I am confused. Why does the Pope say “we are all children of God” if you say we need to be baptised to be one? Please enlighten me. Thank you.
What is the analogy of Whales!❤
It was about the message of Christ not docking people underwater as some sort of ritualistic “ mystical power”
The Greek word for baptism is “baptizo” (pronounced bap-TEASE-oh), which literally means “to dip repeatedly, to immerse, to submerge (of vessels sunk).” This word describes immersion into Jesus himself (1 Cor. We do not believe so for a number of reasons:
First, there is not a single passage in the NT that states that we will be damned without being baptized.

1 Corinthians 15 KJV
1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Acts 2:38
Why Baptize an Infant?
Sir I also want to baptisd in this Danimination. Tell me what I can do for this??
Go to your local Catholic church and ask them
Please pray for me jason and for my godmother Diane and for all of our families and friends and neighbors for conversion and salvation and holiness and healing

You become a child of God when you believe and accept Christ (john 1- 12)
Baptism doesn’t mean anything if you don’t receive the Holy Spirit 1st.
Yes. We can receive the Holy Spirit before we get baptized.
