Would it be okay to ask "Is there any skill in particular that I would need to be successful in this role?", just as a final question in the interview.
I have never once actually passed an interview. I was hired by a temp agency and promoted directly to a permanent employee. This video might explain some of the reasons none of my interviews have worked yet.
Hi Ineke, I have an interview tomorrow and so I am surfing like crazy to gather my questions for the end of the interview. I already had the question "what do you enjoy most about working here?" and "what is the most important part of this role?". I don't want to ask "Can you describe your company culture", because everyone suggests asking this question and I feel that is is definitely OVERUSED. I absolutely love your last powerful question about skills and experience. Even the if a weakness is detected, no one is perfect and everyone can learn or improve a skill. I was truly impressed with this video. I love the enthusiasm which you show. To bad I will be wearing a mask tomorrow due to corona, but I won't put on my glasses until I have to look at my questions, so they will at least be able to see the enthusiasm on the upper half of my face. Thank again!!!!!
Hi Erica, I agree... the culture question is overused and usually you get generic answers to that question anyway. Are you doing face to face or a video interview?
@@PathtoPromotion Hi Ineke, sorry that it took so long for me to answer. I had the interview last week on the same day that I wrote to you. I thankfully had a face to face interview. I only interviewed with one woman who has been at the position for the last 15 years!! We really hit it off well, and I was able to let her know that I would be able to learn any missing skills. The interview was on the 15th and they would like someone to start August 1st and today July 22, I still have not heard anything. The interview last for 1 hour and 10 minutes. I read that any interview over 45 minutes is good. My good points are that I am experienced, my first language is English (that is what they desperately need!!) my German is on level of a native and I am very team-oriented. My major shortcoming is my age!! But I am trying to be positive and think that I am in the running because they did invite me. So I will call the Headhunters on the 26th to see if they have any information (if I don't hear anything today or tomorrow). Your video was great and inspiring.
@@ericaami971 the fact that you haven't heard anything yet doesn't mean it's bad news.... recruitment ALWAYS takes longer than expected. I've had clients tell me a role is urgent then not make a decision for weeks
@@PathtoPromotion HI everyone I have a quick question. I received an email today and was told that I would be getting a second interview, [BUT ON ZOOM or something]. Luckily I have zoom and had practised a bit, but when I sit, the only thing that I see is my head, until maybe the end of my chin. I cannot see any of my outfit at all. I am sitting as high as possible. If the interviewers are using something else, will they be able to at least see the top of my outfit. Should I wear a jacket or just the nice blouse? I am so glad that I decided to install Zoom at the beginning of June, at least I have had a bit of practise. HELP!!!
Such a great video! The content is absolutely fantastic with great examples and direction. Some of the best questions to as thew interviewer I have ever come across. Thank you again!
@@PathtoPromotion hey, I cleared the round 😀💐💞 I am soon going to land a job🤩🥳 I cannot thank you enough for the amazing quality content that you're putting out for us.
Excellent questions! I love the four Cs- especially question 2. I usually ask something like your third - if I hit it out of the park what would that look like
Thanks for the video. If you are already working with the company and you are on interview for a bigger role. Do you still ask about culture and connect questions? Please guide me in that line.
In that instance I would skip the culture questions and ask about any perceived gaps in your skill set. You could then discuss your plans to address these
Great video.. yes asking if the organization is right for you essential. I love “ what do you love about working here” DrBrene Brown talks a lot about culture. New subscriber here
_Excellent_ ideas! I have an assessment centre coming up in a couple of weeks, so these examples are great. I'm going for an internal role (in Sydney), so will need to tweak a few of the questions a bit, but I especially like the one about skills or experience I’m lacking. Thanks!
Hi Craig, if you are going for an internal role, it's great to do a swat analysis on your skills and come up with an action plan about how you will overcome any weaknesses or gaps. Also have a look at our how to prepare for an interview video!
I'd just make note of that.... I.e. I had a few questions, but you have answered them during the course of the interview. Then I would ask if there was anything else they needed.
Is it better to print your questions to show you are prepared and make sure you don't forget or show you have these questions off the top of your head?
Do you do these 8:56 awful bells and chimes on purpose? You really think that the deafening loud phone ring would make the people happy? Not WTF WHERE IS THIS PHONE WHY IS IT CALLING NOW but enjoy? Oh fxck.
What’s your Go-To Question at the end of an Interview?

Great question
Thank you for this series. You helped me ace my first interview in 11 years.

My interviewer just said these are really great questions. He then offered me the job. I’m so glad I came across your video this morning. Thank you!
Thank you Mieke! That's such wonderful news. Congratulations

Great tips! It is definetly important to always ask questions at the end of an interview, this will help a lot of people! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you!!!
Loved the way you smiled along the video as well as the politeness on the tone of your voice. Thanks and bless you!

Great advice here Ineke. I would never have thought to get the interviewer to "imagine you in the job". Really clever!
