I GOT THE JOB!!!!!! Thanks for all the tips! Had my in person interview on Monday Afternoon & got the call the next morning at 10am! 😁 Also, just a tip.. i censed that the panel had a sense of humor, so I told a joke at the end & it totally paid off! They all laughed & then told me that they value people in the role with a good sense of humor. 😜

So I have an interview for an entry level claims adjuster position. I held my last job for 23 years therefore haven't interviewed in quite a while. Though I literally have 100's of examples for behavioral situations, I am concerned that I will not come across as strong as I would like due to the lack of interview experience. Any suggestions on how to steady myself for the interview? Note: I am 65, this would be a new career opportunity for me. It is an online panel interview. Ykes.

Great vid! But I'm not sure why the question "how will they measure success in the role" comes under the challenges bucket. Not seeing the link.

I have never once actually passed an interview. I was hired by a temp agency and promoted directly to a permanent employee. This video might explain some of the reasons none of my interviews have worked yet.

If the pay is 36000 to 50000. Is it OK at end of interview to ask how do they determine where you start at?

Yes, it's very often the more charismatic person who answers the questions 'correctly' and confidently who gets the job.....until months later when that person turns out to be incompetent and leaves, and the employer - who NEVER admits that these questions are a ridiculous way to judge people's abilities- - hax to go through the expense of hiring someone else all over again..

I totally understand about getting tongue-tied. Once, years ago, I worked for a company that had the word “transitions” in the name. Well, do you think I could say that word when answering the phone, or referring to the organization? Not at all and it only got worse! Fortunately, I found another role more suited to my experience and interestingly, WAS able to pronounce the word later when I tried.

It’s a good and well structured method to answer the behavioural questions. Thanks for that. Can you just outline the key points one can use this technique for an analyst and consulting roles. Thanks in advance.
