Such a shame; in his pompous; enigmatic; blistering and accomplished heyday, IA was one of THE most engaging front-men in rock. What I cannot understand is why he didn`t employ a Lead singer 15/ 20 years ago? David Goodier on backing vocals does not cut it. What is left of Ian`s voice will be ruined for ever.
He still is a great singer in the studio with new material that suits his current voice, but his vocal chords seem horribly strained after a few concerts and don't work anymore for touring, especially with older songs.
“Farm on the Freeway” has always been one of my favorites. The instrumentation is near flawless, but unfortunately Ian’s voice has seen its better days. But still it could never erase the stellar catalog of music, and superb showmanship provided by one of the greatest bands in the history of progressive rock music.
Remember seeing Anderson about 10 tears ago perform Thick As A Brick in its entirety at the Sydney Opera House with a young actor/singer playing him and doing a significant amount of vocals. It was great! I really thought that was the trajectory for Tull! Anderson writing music and playing flute, with a new accomplished singer emulating what he used to be able to do. Such a shame :(
@@brianhulcup7933 That’s true, no way around it. It’s amazing Ian can still do what he does at his age. We may miss the glory days, but we’ll be sad when he’s gone. We’re lucky to still have him…
He should just tour less (even if it is hard to keep profitable then) and only sing new material that suits his current voice. Old stuff could be instrumental or with other singers.

I know, right? Should’ve just hired a singer. We would have been fine with that. Remember the guy that sang a bit on the TAAB2 tour? he was good.

As someone who saw the band at their peak, this is very hard to watch.
The band is ok, the live vocals especially on older songs are the problem.
@@NuntiusLegisyeah, the band is excellent.
Unfortunately we are all getting older, it's called living!

Merci pour ce concert filmé 🥰👍
This is incredible. It don't get no better than this. What great music and art.
Thanks for posting!
The old stuff should be instrumental or with another singer.
I’m surprised Ian didn’t have security stop you like they do over here!
Ohne Licht. Ihm hat es nicht gestört und keinem Anderen im Saal.
Amazing Setlist. Warm Sporran is one of their few but fantastic instrumentals
For heaven's sake Ian, please bring someone to sing with you, it's painful to watch you struggle as you sing! JT forever!

Wow, what a strange but interesting way to start a Tull concert~
2nd half
See you guys in Duisburg! :)
@@Elwin66 nein leider nicht 🥲
Apart from Ian's ruined voice, Dark Ages, one of my absolute favourites, simply does not sound right without Martin and Barrie.
Thank You
@@PS-un8zz Bitteschön 😉😍
Is that Goodier singing?
Thumbs up for a great musical performance. Vocals are hard to listen to.
Sneaky! Still, Ian straining on vocals is difficult listening.
I give Ian credit. Much better than many shows in the 90's and since. He' still working at it.
Almost harder to listen to when combined with vocals from someone else. Still, sounds a lot better than the last time I saw him on the TAAB2 tour.
This music speaks for it's self.
Handys und Aufnehmen war nicht gestattet. Warum hast Du das ignoriert?
