Thanks very much! Enjoy the flight. Remember, you will look high when approaching the runway due to the uphill grade. Extra flare also needed for touchdown!
Hi! Nice landing! I noticed the plane remained quite steady during descent and approach. Is that a default aircraft or an add-on? I'm asking because I have a T Flight Hotas X joystick, I calibrated the sensitivity in the settings screen, and the planes I fly seem to be too sensitive: a small movement on the joy makes a huge effect on the planes. 🤔
Thanks for watching. Yes, default TBM 930 aircraft. I have the Thrustmaster T16000m using the default settings as per plug and play. The plane is quite stable with this joystick.
Thanks very much for commenting! No mods. All default scenery. Please do consider a subscription to the channel. Thanks again for watching my first Flight Simulator video! Blue skies!
On the approach, you trimmed out the plane at 85 knots. How did you do that in the TBM 930? What is your thinking and your process for achieving this controlled speed? Thank you.
Thanks for watching! Let me take you through my thought process. Let’s say I am about 5-10 miles out from landing and at a height to follow an average glide slope descent of about 500 -1000 FPM. From cruise, begin to descend by throttling back slowly to bleed off airspeed. At 120 IAS drop the landing gear (this will slow the plane). Add positive elevator trim to pitch up slightly. Add the first notch of flaps and adjust the trim to maintain your rate of descent. Your IAS will slow with flaps. Adjust the power so you don’t drop below 80-85 knots. One notch of flaps at a time with trim and power adjustment to maintain your rate of descent and speed till full flaps for landing. With each notch of flaps you adjust to settle the plane during the descent before the next notch of flaps. For a VFR landing you are constantly focusing on the RWY touchdown spot while doing all of the above. You will find preferred touchdown speeds from 80-90 knots for the TBM930. I think the stall speed with full flaps is 65 knots. And remember to flare to land on the mains. The RWY at Lukla has a positive grade and will give the illusion that you are too high.

Hi and thanks for watching! If the landing distance is 1,700' or less, it is theoretically possible. The RWY at Lukla is 1,737' long. Remember that you also have a 12% uphill grade to deal with, so the correct angle of attack and flare will have to be spot on. If you can land at just above stall speed with enough aircraft response to input, give it a whirl. Please do consider a subscription to the channel. Greatly appreciated! Please report back if you give it a try.

Thanks for watching and commenting! The energy that drives wind originates in the sun. The sun heats the land unevenly (especially so on different mountain faces) creating warm and cool areas. Warm air rises and cooler air moves in to replace the warmer air and presto wind is born. In aviation, land breezes and sea breezes are great examples of the sun’s energy creating directional wind patterns.

You really want to land at lukla with about 20% power on the engine in the TBM. You should be doing 90 kts on final @ about 20% power then very slowly climb into the runway and put it down more gently. It's sloped so you'll stop no problem either way. Kill power on touchdown. Might even want to throw it into reverse depending on how far along you land-- cause missed approach is impossible @ lukla.

Do you think it’s possible to land with the euro fighter typhoon?
Hi and thanks for watching! If the landing distance is 1,700' or less, it is theoretically possible. The RWY at Lukla is 1,737' long. Remember that you also have a 12% uphill grade to deal with, so the correct angle of attack and flare will have to be spot on. If you can land at just above stall speed with enough aircraft response to input, give it a whirl. Please do consider a subscription to the channel. Greatly appreciated! Please report back if you give it a try.

I systematically suffer icing around FLUFFY: in level or when I start my descent. So, more or very little visibility on the runway ...
Do you encounter this kind of problem?
I am flying in c152 (I know: not very realistic at this altitude :)
You will encounter icing at high elevations. Ideally, you want to fly in a pressurized airplane that has de-icing functions. Thanks for watching.
precision landing, great coordination skills the runaway appears so quickly.

@1:13 since when the sun creates wind?
Thanks for watching and commenting! The energy that drives wind originates in the sun. The sun heats the land unevenly (especially so on different mountain faces) creating warm and cool areas. Warm air rises and cooler air moves in to replace the warmer air and presto wind is born. In aviation, land breezes and sea breezes are great examples of the sun’s energy creating directional wind patterns.

October 2019, my father and I went to Nepal for an EBC hike, landing was fine, the pilots certainly know their stuff, the departure after our hike though.....
