- If you want to start beekeeping it's time to get started. Already, beekeeping suppliers are taking orders for nucs (5 frame nucleus starter beehives) for 2025! This video is about what you need to start beekeeping and about how much it costs. And, much more. #bee #beehive #beekeeping
And it doesn't stop
I have a small Charlie 😂 but he is a mix of beagle and jack russel. Good video! You are doing well on subscribers 😀. What type of bees do you keep?
I noticed the hashtags in your title. I would not use those in the title because it creates a link and if clicked on, takes the person off your channel. You want to keep viewers on your channel as long as you can through quality videos and valuable information.
Also I am no expert, but I would recommend enhancing your description by repeating or rewording your title in the first line or 2 of your description.
Also you may want to include in your tags on UA-cam studio: Beekeeping made simple, Beekeeping 101, Beekeeping basics, cost to start beekeeping, How to start beekeeping, ect. These are examples of what people put into the search bar when looking for your type videos. Also use what type of bee in the description.
@@Moneyfromzero thanks, good tips. Charlie is about to turn three in September. He thinks he’s human. And, makes his desires apparent.
I had some plants to attract butterflies and bees, but our hurricane knocked over our fence and killed the big plant. You're very good on camera and look forward to watching more of your videos.
Yes, my wife is the flower person. She loves to work in her gardens.
@@richardhyatt-beekeeping My wife doesn't touch the garden...it's all me and that's why it's a disaster!
I like what your doing. This is a clean start to beekeeping. The cost is no joke, especially if the beginner intends to buy the equipment.
I also see your featured bee keepers and would recommend you use 'the way to be' with Frederick Dunn and possibly David Burns. These are great beginner to intermediate instructors and probide content as well.
Your information is honest and unique, please keep on. :)
@@atlas4225 Yes, I know them both. But, they are out of my region. I still watch them. Thanks for the comments. I’m targeting newer beekeepers because I know how quickly you can grow too fast. I did.
I'm in Canada, everything is about 30% more up here.. I've been keeping for about 10-12 yrs now. This year I pretty much doubled my apairy. The Woodware for 6 double stacks (12 deeps, 6 tops inner covers and bottoms. No frames or supers), cost me about $1000.. double waxed frames add another 500.. I've probably spent over 6g already this year on bees and required equipment.
There is no way I'm recovering these expenses for many years if ever. Survival rates are not great up here with long cold winters. So bees themselves can be part of an annual expense. It's an expensive hobby
@@fidoramavision6823 Yes, it is. I think I spent $24000 in my first 5 years. Now I sell about the same I’m taking in. Long way to go to see a profit, probably never.
That's quite an expensive startup cost, and no honey until the second year. I've had various hobbies over the years, and like anything else that we do in life, everything has a cost.
So right!
😂
What about a bee suit...your going to scare them off. 😂😂😂😂
Perhaps, I got in over my head and just would like others to know it’s not easy. Almost seven years since I started and it’s really hard to be a sideliner.
