Looking forward to the follow-up/sequel.
A queen cell ..what..stick around and she if she came back…lost me?
Lol ,so right when you said “if you can find a newspaper”.Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Kamon for the info.
You are welcome thanks for stopping in and Happy Beekeeping!
Good nutrition is key to most things Kamon.👏🏻100% agree with you. I need a camera girl like you have!! 🥰🐝😎🤪
like the inner cover accepting jar,I just did a paper combine too
Oh so many Gems in this one!!! I noticed my hives in the middle of swarm requeen are so irritating. The price of honey on the paper! I like to write directions to the hive entrances when I change something so they can read like road signs lol 😂
Thanks! Like is too short not so laugh at the craziness of it all.
The cicadas in the background are crazy lol for some reason we didn't have many in our neck of the woods.
Yeah man my brothers house if deafening. What we have is half of what he has!
I guess a penny for your thoughts is pretty much not a thing any longer either. Things that make you go: hmmmmm. :) Great video!
I think your videos are excellent.. I took a year mentorship, and they taught us this method... Not everyone can do a mentorship, so your videos are very helpful for beginners/ hobbyists...
Thank you from Southern California!!! Really appreciate the step by step teaching.
You are welcome! Happy Beekeeping!
Thanks for the info about Miller Bee Supply. Love that it's within driving distance since Brushy Mountain went out of business.
I love Miller Bee Supply.
I bought their queen castle. It was so well made I started buying all my wooden ware from them.
Disclosure: I dont get a penny for saying that.
It is a great company, good customer service, nice folks.
Good video.
Thanks for sharing!!
Good job :)
Listen to those cicadas!
For real!
Thank you!
Where did you get the 6 frame wooden nucs from, Kamon?
I got them from these folks here. Picked them up at my Bee Expo. millerbeesupply.com/
Afternoon! Do you ever have anyone volunteer time and help you with your bees?
I've been using miller bee supply for a while. Saw their ads in the back of abj and bee culture.
They are a great family business
With newspaper being harder to find can I use parchment paper instead?
Dollar tree has cheap parchment paper we have used in a pinch
@@kamonreynolds ok Thanks
Silly question, if your nuc was already used to where their home/hive was does the move to top of the new hive confust them?
Love the way you present this information! Could you do a video on what to do when your colony swarms? Seems like this time of year I get a lot of questions about timing during the wait for the Virgin Queen to get mated.
Hi Kamon, What are the interior dimensions (lxw) of your 6 frame nucs?
If you don't know where to find free newspaper, don't forget at many public places like grocery stores or gas stations they have free newspapers. Or, gah!, you might have to pay a quarter or two!
A quarter or 2!?? LOL
What happens when it rains, especially a gully washer? Doesn't water pool on top with that rim?
It does but most of the time I have a frame feeder inside and the telescoping cover on.
Hahaha unionized bees! 😂
Moved large swam to new location (too close and opened too soon) but only half reoriented others went back to swarm area and on trap I opened and put one frame of comb in and will try to shake back in hive tomorrow. What a mess I have
Good Morning! What are your go-to pollen patties, website? Are you guys already in a dearth in your area? Thanks for the educational content!
When I run out I get more of these patties from Hill Co.
Hey Kamon, I have a hive that I'm having trouble with them raising a Queen. When paper combining a hive, does the Queen-right colony have to go on the top or can the Queen-less colony go on top? Thank you for any help. 1st year beekeeper.
Hey Freedom! It works either way.
@@kamonreynolds Thank you for such a quick response.
I use screen from a window for combining colonies. Works way better. 👍🐝
So would you just leave them like that for a period of time and then eventually remove it?
@@kamonreynolds yes! I give it 3 day oh and I make sure there’s a inner cover with a opening.
Do they still chew thru it?
@@raterus no. And It works! You should try.
@@christopherroop4937 I will, thanks!
Hello Kamon I have just done the same thing with two of my colonies. Kamon here is something you were talking about in one of your last live videos. I went to a big flea market yesterday in my local towns . There was someone with honey for sale an in the LABEL it plainly said with “ CORN SYRUP “ . This one pound jar was $15.00 . WOW WOW WOW Here is the funny honey . I think I may go back next Tuesday an get a jar . Thanks
I guess that’s admitting the quiet part out loud😂.
Where can I get pollen Pattie’s for that price?
Pretty much my conference is the only place to get those patties that cheap unless someone is running a crazy sale
@@kamonreynolds when are you guys doing another?
Nahbexpo.com has the information. It is in Louisville KY first week of January. Even if you can't come, get a buddy to pick you up some gear
Good job buddy boy. Good video kamon!
Would you still use this newspaper combine method if you have a very weak hive with a laying queen in the bottom box (say 1 or 2 frames of bees) and a pretty strong hopelessly queenless hive in the top? Nothing at all wrong with the queen in the bottom just not enough bees to cover brood and build up.
I would probably put the queen in a cage for that one for more time and extra insurance
Ha Kamon what is your idea on the flow I am in virginia, how much longer do u think the flow will be on. my bees just sat around and did nothing today, it was real nice to. I enjoyed the video I am really glad u and loural are doing videos a again. Thanks hope u both have a blessed week
Hi Kamon, on a different topic, I have a 5 frame nuc that I didn’t sell so I transferred into a 10 frame deep,1 week ago, now I have a buyer for nuc.
Will it be advisable to put it back into a nuc box for buyer?
If you want to sell it absolutely. Now you can pull out the perfect nuc
@@kamonreynolds thank you for your response, I was worried it may upset the apple cart! Lol
In English, my bees are in the Caucasian geography, and I have not come across anyone who knows why this chalk disease is so widespread, why it is transmitted and how it gets better, so if the beekeepers are in trouble, please help and guide me sincerely, sir
hi, beekeeper friend, I need help from you on something! i have chalk disease in my bees, please show me a way this disease is ruining my bees, I want help from you as a beekeeper, thank you, have a good season
