This Transformers OPTIMUS PRIME...can't transform. The Banana Force Orion Predator isn't a bad figure by any means, but I can't wrap my head around WHY anyone would want any Transformers that can't transform! It's like a gun that can't shoot, like water that isn't wet, like Optimus Prime if he couldn't...oh wait.

I love how Swivelman is now sort of Jobby's power up instead of an alternate personality kind of a character. Might not be that way but I feel Jobby is actually starting to accept Swivelman as part of himself (at least in my opinion).
It's the Jobby equivalent of the Super Electric Dynamo. If he doesn't fully expend the Swivel energy within 60 seconds he dies.

I love Jobby’s humor, it’s one of the few things that makes me smile and laugh.
I don’t mind non-transforming stuff as long as I like the design - it’s how I came to buy a couple of the flame toys model kits
If the poseability wasn't lacking in some random areas, this figure might have actually made non-transformable transformers seem worth it

@@557deadpool Not really. I even bold face told Jobby off from even considering Furai models because they suffer from extremely poor plastic joint quality... AKA the plastic used for the joints basically tears itself apart just by putting it together.

Honestly, I don’t mind non-transforming Transformers figures as long as they’re of really high quality, like the ones from ThreeZero or Flame Toys (in fact this kinda even looks like the Flame Toys Optimus). Like they’re just really cool mecha figures now.
If it doesn't transform then should we call it Transformers? I think action figures is a more appropriate term.

Hell yeah, another Jobby review that totally didn't took 7 years
...I was legitimately shocked at the posability section, had to pause to check if I was hearing right.
Next to that, a pretty great review as always, Jobby.
I would absolutely LOVE to see this company do a Soundwave figure. This aesthetic just SCREAMS coolness to me, and I would ADORE seeing my favorite transformer with that coat of metaphorical paint.
Honestly I kinda love non-transforming transformers, like I'm so into the transformers thing that it's strangely refreshing to have just a cool badass looking robot that's an iconic character I know and love.
You joke about not having a significant other, but that letter at 0:43 is clearly signed with "love". If there's something going on between you and Ms. Chikamoto, you don't have to hide it from us. We're happy for you, bro. 👍🏻

I like this design a lot more than G1 Prime because of how hyper-stylized and anime it looks. But, I am a huge fan of Armada Prime. Those questionable flaws in the design make me think that price isn't worth it tho. $180 is a little much, but damn that is still a cool figure.

They basically reused their RID Optimus mold for the base figure then just engineered new parts onto it. Which is why you have all those slots and whatnot bc the RID Optimus is getting an Ultra Magnus upgrade figure/kit to make Omega Prime and those just carried over.

That design actually would abusolutely fit with a youthful and a little bit feminine in term of personality for a very young version of Convoy/Optimus, not gonna lie

I actually kinda like these non-transforming figures. The often high amount of articulation plus on screen accuracy not possible (in terms of movie bots anyway) in a transforming figure just hits that sweet spot. Plus stylized takes like this and the Kuro Kara Kuri line from Flame Toys are pretty sweet

Comparing this to their earlier work of RID optimus, looks like this design uses a lot of the designs that one had, even carrying over certain slots

I know they have to avoid setting off the Hasbro legal department, but why a name like "Orion Predator"? Predator isn't a word that comes to mind when I think "Optimus Prime". Well, maybe Michael Bay's Optimus Prime, since that version was a cold-blooded murderer.
Always so cheerful and never disappointed from jobby review so entertaining and fresh never bored me watching it every time
Personally, I prefer non-transforming Transformers simply for the fact that it frees up ability to have more focus on the robot transformation which, let's be honest, is the entire reason Transformers are cool anyways. I mean, if we just had a series about cars- wouldn't have the same umph. I feel like having a non-transforming figure gives the ability to focus more on the character the figure portrays rather then having to worry about the engineering of the figure's transformation gimmick which, in turn, frees up time and thought in possibility and design of the obviously more interesting robot forms of the characters. But, that's just my opinion on the matter.

I'd suggest withholding judgment on non transforming figures til you've seen something from either Threezero or Flame Toys. This figure is nowhere near the pinnacle of engineering those figures tend to reach. Still good over all tho.

I was hoping you'd review this figure.
I honestly love, and kinda prefer Transformers that cant transform. (I know, blasphemy)
But why I love them is because the designers can go all out on the robot form appearance, and the articulation of the robot form without having to worry about if it will interfere with the transformation or not.
Plus, when I display my Transformers I almost always just keep them in robot form, except if it's a bot like Grimlock.
Now that's not to say I dont like transforming Transformers, I just have a soft spot for those that dont. Lol
