Here's my LEGO Optimus Prime review, where I FINALLY talk about LEGO. LEGO was one of my favorite childhood toylines. Before there was Transformers...there was LEGO.

get this man 1 million views. He said if it this video does well, He'll do more lego reviews
Lego 71765 Ninjago Ninja Ultra Combo Mech or Lego Ninjago Nya's Samurai X MECH 71775 would be awesome to make a review
Lego Bowser review would honestly be interesting
Viewbots assemble!
Jobby doing more Lego reviews would be a dream come true. The Lego Ideas Tree House is one of my favorite sets I've ever built and I think he'll really enjoy it.
MORE LEGO
The fact that LEGO sent Jobby this set is just... so unbelievably strange to think about.
Clean my mind I thought they would never do it since transformers and Hasbro had a license with Legos enemy company, kreo.
A children’s toy to a definitely not for children youtube channel. Makes sense
I think it's awesome. They know what kind of channel he is.
@@FrisktheBunny
Kreo didn’t have a license, it was _owned_ by Hasbro.
And it’s been dead for a while.
Exactly they are mostly strict for family friendly content creators. So how how Jobbie got this is beyond me. But I think Hasbro had the list of content creators They send review copies and I guess jobby was on it
Fun fact: Lego technically produces the most tires out of any company.
Thats... Pretty damn eyeopening, lol.
Wild
Imagine being outsold by a toy company
@@myang12003 I mean real car tires are massive compared to lego tires
@@poofsplix2003 no shit
I think the biggest accomplishment of this set is that it's one of the few Primes that doesn't cheat by having a separate grill for each mode.
13:36 The old Kre-O Transformers sets also had to have you completely disassemble the thing in order to Transform it. It’s actually worse than Built-to-Rule, because of how much more complex the Kre-O sets were.
Kre-O was not worse than BTR. At least Kre-O looked good.
Lmao I remember they had color errrors in the instructions. *YES I'M LOOKING AT YOU TF3 MEGATRON*
Hell tf no on that last part. BTR was objectively worse. You clearly never had one of those pieces of shit as a kid
@@bromodragone8405 AND they had transformers sets that legitimately transformed!
i remember i had Kre-o Jazz, Bumblebee, G1 prime, and movie sentinel it was cool to have them but a pain to take them apart to transform
Jobby is 100% in his prime days here on YT, he's kept up with the times and changes and yet still remains the funniest UA-camr I watch. Love this guy
Yep
The back of the truck is pretty amazing, the fact that the feet are not just folded and visible but they become part of the truck's bed is really nice and surprising
Also those little rubber studs looking like lights was nice.
That bit with the clear red smooth does like to pop off the feet though
The jet pack actually can connect to the trailer bed really easily. And it fits over the gun. The two studs on the leg parts connect to the jet pack.
Yeah I know 2 months late but he was so close to fitting it right there. He set it right next to the studs.
WAIT YOU CAN STORE THE JETPACK ON THE TRUCK
Ah yes legos, the finest delicacy a child could ever have
lego*
As I child I can confirm LEGO™️ are delicious
@@apileofcandy1244 especially the red 8x8 bricks
They also make walking barefoot on a bed of hot coals orgasmic by comparison.
@@dankerbell LEGO™️*
Also. Jobby. Buddy. Try Mega Construx. You want articulation? They got articulation. Lego will never make a super-articulated set. Not since Bionicle died.
Especially halo mega construx
They made articulated construction action figures
Don't worry Jobby, you did everything right when you build this set, the connections that make everything move are like that, check out other Lego reviews about the figure, they've complained the same thing.
Edit: Thanks for the likes! I'm famous now. :D
i'd imagine there would be a way to use a different /add a part to make it a bit more stable
Yeah joints in regular Lego sets aren’t the greatest for bigger sets
Technic has better stuff for that
Looking at the build, yeah they should've added more Technic Elements for stability
@@yi_hou3092 the thing is though in plain ol "Lego" builds they generally never use technic parts, except for the axles and a very small selection so it still looks "Lego" I think some people complain that technic isn't lego which is why you don't see too much technic stuff in
@@Firewolfslayer like the whole waist of Priime is literally a round 4x4 brick, I was expecting like some technic engineering to be added onto it to keep him structurally sound
I find it kind of funny that this Lego Optimus Prime has one of the best feet transformation. Better than most actual Optimus Prime's.
"Best feet" 🤨
AYO
@@hunterhudson4577 Why does anything anyone says end up sus? Please stop making it weird.
@@jams-0739 bro it's the comments section of a fuckin Jobby video. Whatd you expect?
@@hunterhudson4577 again, not trying to be a dick. I'll just note that I've also seen stuff like this on much more chill channels
Would love to see Jobby cover the Ark. He needs to do more reviews on the mainline figures like Studio Series 86, WFC Trilogy, and Legacy.
Plus at least the 3mm Blast Effect pegs are the same width as a standard Lego Bar, not as sure on the 5mm pegs and ports though...
Legacy reviews are definitely coming from Jobby, given his fondness for cybertron and beast wars(yeeesssss…)
Yeah, it saves his kidneys.
Now that the door is open, seeing Jobby review a bionicle would be a fever dream!
I would bust
4:47 is an awaiting SCP
6:20 Iron Hide DOTM Moment
As someone into Lego news, Jobby, I gotta reccomend some modern sets, since they are doing plenty of sets based on other media (since their original themes might not be your thing, I dunno).
Speed Champions theme made/will release 2 sets, one with James Bond's car and the other with the one from Fast & Furious around august (I think); there's an Avatar theme coming up (the movie, yes); harry potter, minecraft, star wars or any related super hero media, since those have been around for some time now.
And following those 18+ sets, there's one of the Tallneck, from Horizon Zero Dawn, and an interesting one based on Sonic 1! They're really well done and I'd love to see those sets reviewed in a way only YOU can make it! Best part of a saturday, I'll telll ya.
I think that, as a kid where every toy was something else too in my imagination, going from Lego to Transformers was a natural move!
Also congratulations on THE funniest sponsor ad. I didn't even wanna skip forward! 😅
This is pretty awesome. As a kid I always wanted this as a crossover, it's amazing to see even if I'm older. Great review as always 👏
I’m a lego guy and I’m considering buying this set. Wanted to see what a transformers reviewer thought of it since LEGO fans are all just excited to have something Transformers at all
Your channel quality is top notch!
Really impressive figure. I especially love the truck mode--it's nearly perfect. Great review Jobby. I hope we can see future lego videos 👍
Also, if you still have him, the ko transcraft Bumblebee would be nice figure to review
I always viewed this set not as a transformer, but as a transforming lego build
I could see the bionicle/herofactory friction joints being used to make the knees bendable without too much trouble.
The problem is the friction, hard to maintain a pose when the figure is as heavy as it is
@@LaggingDuck- Well, there are also a variety of ratchet-joint pieces in Lego's back-catalogue. I recommend looking up Exo Force (a mecha-focused Lego theme from the mid-2000s) to see the kinds of things they could do with them.
As someone who owns this figure, I can tell you that those parts don't really work as a solution.
@@thegrouchization I’m well aware of them, but the other person mentioned friction joints
There's also the large ratchet joints from the red scorpion set from that gladiator Bionicle line
Big Lego fan. Buying this actually got me back into transformers, and looking for transformers reviews brought me to this channel.

Since you initially like LEGO, and assuming you basically like robots, I can come to the conclusion that you were a Bionicle fan.
Who the fuck isn't a Bionicle fan
@@deft4184 Salty lego brick fans who hate lego buildable action figures and are jerks to people who like them, and respectful lego fans who just aren’t into bionicle but aren’t jerks about it.
@@Skrall-Slayer Yeah, I'm the latter. I like Optimus, though
@@deft4184someone who haven't heard of the theme
Hearing that a lego bumblebee might be coming out this year has me excited
Something you might like is Monkie Kid, The Bone Demon combines from several creatures, and they have PLENTY of big mechs.
Ninjago mechs are better tbh
That show goes full gurren lagann i swear.
That show turned out way better than I thought, it was really good
@@nokopanda4642 True, but with how long it is, something newer might be easier.
@@returnedtomonkey8886 unfortunately without the digging tools, but it still works
As someone who's not entirely familiar with all the Transformer figure stuff, that split second of Optimus with the fucking Chun-Li style kick at 10:52 threw me through a fucking LOOP
If you’re looking to build LEGO, I’d highly suggest the ninjago line. Definitely a top tier of lego
Star wars are kinda mid, ninjago is definitely where it's at.
Monkie kidd might also be a good line.
Can't wait for angry bionicle fans to answer this comment
I'd say star wars or Minecraft
Old ninjago it died as of recently tbh
Video came out on my birthday and just getting around to watching it. your content always gets me feeling better when i'm down in the dumps and i wanted to thank you for always putting a smile on my face when i needed it
Just finished building this set two days ago and excited to see my favorite reviewer go over it
It would honestly be awesome if LEGO did Megatron next because just imagine having Optimus and Megatron posed like they’re about to fight. (Btw I managed get mine on the release day and it wasn’t even sold out yet and it is an amazing LEGO set.)
Cool to see you tackling a LEGO set, and a cool one for display too! Regarding stickers, it's something that happens for a number of reasons. Same thing for a printed element, and it's usually regarding the mold, the size and the use of that piece that helps to determine if it needs a print or not.
If you need any LEGO sets suggestions to review, I'll keep it to posable figures only. Any recent Ninjago set that mainly focus on a mech/creature can be worth it imo. If not, I highly recommend the Majestic Tiger from Creator and its amazing building techniques.
Feel like the newish crystallised samurai X mech would be a good set for him to review
Don’t forget money
I feel like as much as I want her to be the next review, that Firebird Mooka is gonna be an October review. A sequel to last year’s Nicee review with spooky elements 😜
PS I have her and she looks and feels amazing, I like her with the cat ears in comparison to the bunny ears though.
hey Jobby today is me birthday and ive been feeling quite alone. This upload couldnt have been timed better lol. Thank you for always giving me something to smile about
Happy year late birthday dude!
@@FigsNLifts bahahahh two years too late but nevertheless, thank you!
I was always into Bionicle rather than Lego’s other sets. Bionicle was the shit!
I remember watching Bionicle. I can agree it was the shit
Never was into the _L O R E_
Saw the 4 movies, but thats pretty much surface level compared to the rest of the Iceberg.
Was more into the toys cause "Cool Robot Men"
Dude if Jobby wanted to he could keep reviewing Bionicle sets for a good year if he tried lol.
I got this guy day 2 at my local store. He's a thing of beauty! Glad Jobby was satisfied as well, because I wouldn't change a thing. Not even the knees! He's the perfect LEGO interpretation of the character.
I would watch the hell out of you doing more Lego reviews.
Crazy how after I just finished building my copy, I get recommended this. It truly is a small world.
Looks like this is the closest we're gonna get to a Bionicle review

Can't wait for the video on Bumblebee in a few months
I've been waiting for this review. Ever since I saw the reveal of this set I knew you were gonna review it.
Great review, I love your videos. But I also love Lego and I watch Jangbricks as well, and it's just so interesting to see a non Lego channel review a Lego set.
LEGO Voltron has the same issue with no knee bend to help keep it stable. I have both, and let me tell you, it looks fantastic on my shelf next to Prime. I really loved watching your build streams after I'd finished mine. If you want any other builds, I'd for sure try to find Voltron (he's older so may be hard to find) or the car builds (Mustang, Camaro, Mini Cooper, VW Bus, etc.) are all really solid.
I’ve seen people already make a trailer for this guy as well as other things, but the most impressive thing I’ve seen is that someone made the IDW Optimus, but the only problems is that it requires 2 of these sets, it’s very unstable, and it’s a custom build. But despite all that, it’s a really cool figure piece to a collection.
It also can’t transform
THIS IS AWSOME
1:01 RULES OF NATURE
Jobby out here tempting to me to fall back into the LEGO abyss
6:01 *yeah, no, I feel you so hard.*
im not sure if someone else has mentioned it yet but you can remove the 1x3 blue plate to give him individual finger articulation though it does make them a little unstable and then if you take off the 2x4 blue slope on his butt and replace the 2 2x1 grey slopes and replace them with the plates from the fingers it stops him from breaking all the time and gives him some actual backwards leg movement
12:39 OMG PARTSFORMING
One piece that's it
This video convinced me to order this product. Haven't touched Lego for over 25 years so I was completely out of the loop of how Lego now provides many lego sets for adults to relieve stress. Looking forward to building this thing, along with a glass of wine... or a bottle of wine.
15:09 Gundam ghost face reveal
now im waiting for his lego bumblebee review
I'd say go for the Voltron set, though by now it seems to doubled or more in price on the secondary market. The lions all have great, solid builds and lock together nicely. Voltron himself is pretty much an unmovable brick, no pun intended, but it looks great and is crazy big.
Legos were my childhood. I haven't actually touched them in years but a few sets sit on my displays collecting dust. Seeing this video was nostalgic.
After watching other reviews of this set, I think the looseness isn’t your fault. I mean after all it is Lego, and it being a 18+ set, usually intended just for display, is pretty much a go ahead for the designers to not focus so much on stability
6:01 yeah thats an actual common problem with all Lego Optimus prime figures, im the owner of a lego prime (heck i pre ordered mine) and it also has a loose connection with the waist, same goes for the spinning barrel on the ion blaster
The buildable figure bb-8 is a fun build, also has cool engineering inside
Can’t wait to see you buy starscream and skywarp
3:16 I REALLY THOUGHT THERE WAS A LAG HERE
I loved the feel of this video. It feels like one you actually had fun making, and that's fantastic
14:16 You can, in fact, attach the jetpack there without modding a single thing, all you gotta do is move the jetpack up by 1 stud, and the black part of the jetpactk with attach to the blue studs on the leg
Man you have no idea how excited I was to watch this. Definitely hopeful to see more lego reviews in the future- even building streams just for fun!
I love this model as what he is : a display model that can transform 99% without partform with many accessories and except rhe arms who are a bit too floppy and the torso who haft easily, I don't have problems.
For the backpack on the truck mode, use the studs on the blacks bricks, it works
Build in 2 hours 40 by the way
for years i've watched the community made lego transformers and i love this thing
It’s not perfect but I absolutely love this set so much. It’s so nostalgic and my favorite set I’ve built since the Lego Stratocaster
I would love to see more Lego reviews.
Is it just me or at 10:01 does jobby sound like rat trap from beast wars?
i showed my dad this lego optimus at a store. i dont know what to say but he was so happy in his mind. he was just in amazement since the only lego transformers that he got me were the kreo ones ( still good toys )
Id have to recommend the lego speed champions sets. Their vehicle builds are really fun and surprisingly complex, and their finished looks are always really close to the actual vehicle in real life. Also relatively cheap at $20 a car, or you can buy one of the two-packs. Easily my favorite lego theme Ive ever bought.
I know when i was building this I was having such a fun time, a smile plastered on my face the entire time
The jetpack is a reference to the g1 episode where he borrowed sideswipes jetpack
Enough though this is the first OFFICIAL one, various others have made Lego Transformers of many size classes, customs and show ones. A few guys I enjoy are Boys With The Most Toys, Aranobalis, and StudentScissors. Each has a different size, Boys has big, Aran has large/medium, and StSc has small.
You've been my favorite UA-camr for years even when I didn't have an account I remember joining in around 50k subs and I'm here to stay
This guy is great to watch for anything Transformers toy reviews
Short, Straight to the point, a sprinkle of comedy to keep the viewer entertained
You know, some channels i skip the sponsor part.
But not with Jobby.
One thing about Lego there are so many things that should be printed that are stickers it’s weird but budget I guess also I have a hulk buster with that cylinder piece for the waist and the connection isnt the best
I absolutely love that you want to build more Lego. There's so many amazing sets out there but The Lego Ideas Tree House is one of my favorite sets I've ever built, I think you'll really enjoy it.
Built mine displayed it on a table in robot mode. Picked it up and dropped it at 3 in the morning. Proceeded to spend the next hour rebuilding the whole thing for it to now sit in truck mode as it is more stable and sturdy.
As a huge Lego fan who only builds mechs from Universal Century Gundam I'm super excited for this video!
Custom Lego transformers: mini figure or micro scale and takes ages to create a transformation function,
Lego Optimus set: Almost MP 10 Optimus scale and easier to transform.
I doubt Lego will try to build Minifig scale transformers…
Ever since I was little i always wanted something like this. I still can't believe that it transforms
Something I like about this Lego set is that it mimics the original toys transformation
Jobby reviewing lego set is something i really like i need more now
What a beautifully simple transformation sequence
Well cant wait for him to do bumble bee
If you wanna do some other Lego Builds, I recommend the rest of the ICONS series, the Creator Expert Vehicles (the Vespa, Mustang and Porsche 911 specially) and the Speed Champions 2020-Onward line.
The "End of quote, repeat the line" bit made me laugh out loud! So random, love it!
Who knew lego could make a toy with such engineering
Jobby! Again another great video, I'm glad I could join and watch the building in your 2nd channel, also I'm glad I don't skip anything, that ad with the boys was hilarious 😂 Thank you so much for placing my drawing at the end, I enjoyed a lot making it for you and it makes me feel so honored! 🥲✨
The fact that this is a LEGO set and it has a more simple short and sweet transformation like the OG G1 toy and has better weapon storage than most Optimus figures
I did slightly modify the axe that came with mine, but in vehicle mode, it actually fits pretty well in the technic slot near the foot as a sort of flag. Mine is also modified in such a way that the jetpack can still fit on the truck bed
Jobby doing lego reviews? Honestly exciting for more! Especially since you really enjoyed this one!

I really love this sentiment; "There's a reason why this is marked as 18+ but that didn't stop me from feeling like a kid again."
The streams were great, I'm so glad that this got a review
It's nice to see jobby branching out, and it would be awesome to see more Lego content in the future
When it comes to collecting Action Figures I'm mainly a Lego Bionicle Collector although I've been collecting Bionicle Figures for about 20 years
6:25 Dang that fell apart like my kreo megatron that I had as a kid. Only with that, my attempting to put the parts back on caused more to fall off, and it crumbled to bits in my hands. That was one of the few sets that I happily chucked into the bins.
"Before I've got into Transformers, there was Lego" same here Jobby 😁
I still build and collect Legos even when I was a kid so seeing this makes me happy and hope to see more.
