Luxury brands shouldn’t even be making costume jewellery, or, they should be a lot cheaper considering what they are. $460aud for a Gucci ring that’ll tarnish after a few wears is ludicrous 😞
I agree! That’s why I only buy the Gucci sterling. It the same price (sometimes less!) than the costume, but it’s a noble metal and can be cleaned and enjoyed for years :)
You buy the design and art, not the material.
It's up to you if you want to accept their appraisal or not.

My worst purchase ever....
I hated my Louboutins & after LUSTING over them for years, I bought the Pigalles (with the 2nd highest heel height) with a bonus I got one year. What a bonus! Bonus foot, knee, & hip pain...& as the leather stretched a tiny bit they’d slip off! The red bottoms scuffed immediately & the toe tip leather wore away after just a few wears! I sold them...never again will I buy something because of hype! Whether I’m spending $100 or $1000, I’m looking for wearability & quality now.
I agree, I think the attractiveness of highly uncomfortable shoes has really faded away. You can even see it from how much more brands are focusing on sneakers and low-heel boots and shoes.
Agree!!! I bought the Lady Peep 150 Patent calf that I was thinking about for ages and wore them at a party for a few hours. HORRIBLE! The most uncomfortable shoes I ever had in my life
I bought a heel hight that is wearable for me. Second hand. The former owner had the soles altered to last longer. I am glad I didn't buy the higher ones that most people have.
@@sandravermeulen9729 Yes they offered to send the shoes to have a reinforced bottom, which I turned down....would not have helped me with the height & the pinching though. 😩 Luckily I’ve been working from home so I make sure all my outfits go with something in my trainers collection when I step out to do errands! Lol
I’ve often wondered about Louboutins - once they’re worn, do the soles stay red? It seems to me that they look best brand new.

I thought it was just cheap quality when my DKNY scarfts got tugs and pulls in them very easy...and even for that low price point of the scarfs ,it was quite annoying. I can't imagine how frustrating it must be if a LV scarf does that.

Those Chanel boots are the kind that you carry in a bag until you get to a party or a friend’s home. You wear them into the party just so everyone can see them and when you leave you change back into your SAFE boots/shoes.😂

I've never been a big fan of Louis Vuitton. Living in New York for so long, knock off LV is available on practically every street corner so I was always suspicious when I saw someone wearing it/carrying it bc I wondered if it was real. Before I had any $ (and before I knew better) I bought an LV bag from a 'street corner' and I got many compliments on it. And it cost me $10.

About scarves bubbling: Bubbling is actually a sign of high quality wool. Really fine cashmere, for example, will always bubble on you.

Funny how back then, manolo blahnik was considered 2nd best to louboutins. But now it turns out blahnik managed to keep it's luxurious appeal while loubs has become tacky.

Louboutin is definately not over in the restaurant/lounge/nightclub scene in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and San Francisco. Every "cool" girl has a CHANEL bag[or Fendi bag] and Louboutins on her feet.. This was before the Covid-19 pandemic.

You can tell Sophie is a real luxury shopper. Meaning she can actually buy these items without sponsors so her videos tend to be more authentic.

Hi Sophie, yes some Chanel bags are still suede lined.
I fine it kind of goes by pricing (could be wrong), but cheaper bags are almost always fabric lines abs more expensive ones I’ve always seen suede lined. I’m not a professional by any means, but my newer LV is suede lined

The leather lining in LV bags depends on the style. But in general the quality of the canvas has gone down. There’s such a drastic difference between bags from the early 2000s and the second decade. It’s sad.
Those Chanel shoes make a lovely ornament 😂♥️. Totally agree on the J’adior shoes, I got the black technical canvas ones in the higher heel for my wedding (I wore a navy dress!) and they were liking walking on air! I’ve been getting my stones in my earrings repaired since 2009. It’s a life long commitment although all my other Chanel jewelry without glued stones are not problematic.
I would love to wear six inches heels but can no longer do so. Knee pain. I go for comfort now and have a box full of those Dr. Scholls foot pads for every shoe. I now wear flats or 1.5 is the highest I will go. I love the Dior mid heels. They are so lovely. Love your video as usual Sophie.❤️

I personally wear a lot of platform sneakers & sandals because I like the height they give me without compromising comfort as you do with heels
@@groxsii yeah they're gonna be back very soon. Chunky soled shoes are popular right now and i know the styles are going to evolve into platform heels in maybe 2022.
I think they look cool at a certain 'restrained' thickness - but those enormous brick things where the whole shoe and heel was covered in one piece of suede/leather. Hideous.
Sophie just a tip for the artsy bag, you can use it to store socks, or knit scarves that don’t need to be folded... actually anything that doesn’t need to be folded. That way it fills out the bag but serves as storage as well and has a purpose !

Some fabrics are more prone to pulling threads due to the weaving technique.
Open fringe hems are currently a trend, but you can see the disadvantage. I also have such scarves, but then sewed the hems myself.
Some products that have an extravagant shape or decorative elements that have to be attached can look good, but later turn out to be problematic in everyday use.
In conclusion, one can say that certain shapes and processing methods will prevail in the long term.
You can definitely try something new, but there are also surprises in it.
Agree with you in terms of the Louis Vuitton scarf. Mine do the same - but I do still love them and wear regardless as what’s the point of having bought it and not being able to wear it.

I also own the LV Logomania scarf in that exact color! I love it. If you get a run or the stitches pull, you can even it out by pulling the yarn on either side of the pull.
I have 3 LV bags Sophie and I completely agree my newest is the Bond Street bag and it’s canvas lined instead of my first LV bag purchased 10 years ago which was suede lined! Like you the suede in my opinion is definitely a whole lot better! Xxx
Bought a Gucci scarf last year, wore it for less than a month and the thread was falling out. I asked Gucci what was wrong with the quality and they just told me it was my fault 😌Took it to the dry cleaners and now the tag is hanging on for dear life.

For me I must agree, Louboutins have never ever appealed to me but I guess I'm more of a platform/chunky shoe gal eg. Prada brogues or Dior trainers! Chanel earrings on the other hand, do appeal to me! I am thinking of a really simple style so that (as you mention) theres no room for error or bits to fall out! I have seen a couple of dangly gold plated pairs on Vestiere Collective, so hoping to buy them in the new year!

The same. And I have quite a few. Gucci, Longchamp, LV they are all the same. It’s too delicate, but LV is worst. I had it for a few years now and it’s rued😿I stick to my Burberry scarf❤️quality is on point

Sophie, have you ever taken your earrings (with the missing pearls) to a shop that sells all those tiny jewelry pieces? If nothing else, they can tell you the mm (sizing) of them, and then you could order some online. That's all Chanel is doing! i also keep thinking that a brush of some sort of thin, clear plastic sealer (?) could keep the pears in and might even make your boots more wearable.

My worst buy - A Chanel pearl necklace with CC’s that have lost so many rhinestones. Cost over $1,000 and it looks cheap. AND Chanel wants to charge me to fix it?! Never again!

Great video Sophie. If I can add a point on Louis Vuitton and the quality difference - my experience is that it’s not just time that has played a role in canvas and material quality but also the factory it is made in. My made in Spain LV pieces are a wreck after a year (so sad) but my older made in France pieces look great after years! Going forward if I buy again I will only buy made in France LV items.
The scarf is out of style imo and it gives me trashy vibe for some reason I guess its the logo, the platform pumps are same vibe. Very good points Sophie, you always bring great value ✨
I buy scarves from a brand called ECHO and love them. Not only do they last, but they are also very stylish. They design for other labels as well. The price is right as well.
Hi Sophie, early but nowhere near first ooooops!!! Great fun video, loved it. I covert a pr of Dior slingbacks, maybe one day. I can remember taking a pr of platform bootie type shoes to my nail girl (right at the beginning of the red sole thing) asking her to paint my nails the same colour, she thought I was mad, but I loved it at the time, defo not a look I would go for now lol. Totally agree on the Louboutin. I’ve sold several. Definitely got rid of the platform ones and keeping it to just the pumps I’ve already got. Won’t be purchasing more Louboutin in the future.

Those LV scarves are gorgeous. It’s so sad when you buy something of this price range and it’s damaged so easily. I don’t buy a lot of luxury items so I’d be so upset over a snag, etc. I do have a Burberry scarf that I’ve had for years that seems to be aging well.
I had a Chanel silver tone bracelet that had a safety clasp that kept coming undone. I took it to Chanel three times for repair and I finally sold it because I was so frustrated. This was at least 15 years ago, and I have heard quality is even worse now. I wouldn’t buy Chanel jewelry again.

Thanks for sharing. Yeah i do agree with Chanel's items. I had heard a lot of it. I had got a small cc earing from Chanel this year with tiny blink, so far is good. Fingers crossed. But as for those pearls etc or bigger stones, i will never want to get that. And is really a shame for Louis Vuitton's quality on their shawls. I had the LV Graceful PM and it is line in red (but i prefer that perhaps easier to maintain) than the one you showed. I got a bag organizer for it. It helps a lot. Love it so much.
Just bought the LV Maida bag which I love ( flexibility of 2 different straps). Love it, beautiful suede interior , however, the zipper pulls feel way lighter and def. less heavy then the older zipper pulls. The quality isn't nearly as good as the older ones. Great vlog. Happy Holidays!
Hi, Sophie! As for the LV bags lining: my Saint Sulpice BB that I got in early 2018 has microfiber, suede-to-touch lining. Maybe it’s so because it’s in empreinte leather, though my Pochette Métis in Empreinte bought a months earlier has plain textile lining 🤔.

I totally agree with the Chanel costume jewellery, I worked at Elle magazine for a year, so I saw lots of high end items and I was shocked at the poor quality of Chanel jewellery! Very cheap!

I just replied this to someone else. I've got a 25 year old cashmere that was handed down - been worn 100s of times and still looks great. No bobbling or pills . It feels a bit thicker and 'feltlike' than new ones - maybe go pre-loved?

Yes with the scarf! Somethings are better just to admire than to have them on your wishlist. So I actually clicked on here because of the Artsy. I got it like three weeks ago to replace the delightful mm. So I know what you mean on the organization but going back to the quality, for the price there isn’t many LV bags that have that much attention to detail. The newer ones do that suede lining but not canvas only all leather options. Which at that point, I’m probably better looking at Chanel or Dior. Thanks for the video!

I also have the LV monogrammed scarf and I agree! I wore it once and it snags so easily! I also have little strands of the material hanging off too. It’s disappointing as I had saved for it and I’m now scared to wear it.
I never was really into Dior but ever since I subscribed to your channel I've been thinking about checking them out (especially the Lady Dior bags). They are building a Dior Boutique in our Mall here in Arizona and I can't wait to visit.

Oh my god the LV scarf.. I had the exact same problem with my silky Dior scarf!! the threads had gone loose just like yours, i thought I had bought a fake one.. such a shame that big brands don’t quality check their items..
My birthday was in September and my husband gave a pair of Chanel boots without a hill. Since then I wear them once😆 because of the virus I have no place to go😩i wish i picked smt else. I just can’t mentally pick up Chanel boots to go to the grocery store((( stupid purchase from my side.

I grew up at this strange environment, where I could wear luxury items only on special occasions to look nice. My parents didn’t allow me wear smt with logo at school (because they thought that was not appropriate). Since then I just can’t break the system.

I agree with the LV scarf, it’s way too delicate. I bought mine on employee discount, thank god because after one wear...long threads snagged, hanging off, can’t be fixed! 😖

The Louis Vuitton shawls!!! I have the exact same colour and it has been on once.... marked and falling to bits. I have it in black too which gets a lot more wear as it doesn’t mark as easily.. (still hanging to bits now though!) and the prices!!!! Almost died when I bought my second one about 5 years after my first..... 😳
Oh those chanel boots are really cute.. and I don't think you're supposed to wear such fancy shoes while driving 😂 I often wear comfy shoes or slippers while driving then just before getting out of the car I change it.. I know its alot of work but what to tell ya 🤷♀️
