- Members of the Royal Family including King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla attended the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall to commemorate the service and sacrifice of those in the armed service.
A special tribute was also made to the late Queen Elizabeth II as the longest serving Commander-in-Chief of the British Armed Forces.

I still cannot grasp that she's gone. Rest in Peace QEII and all the brave soldiers who gave their lives 🙏
I came here to say exactly this. Charles will do a beautiful job, as will his son and grandson, but I'll never stop feeling the loss of his mom on the world stage.
Same here

We will all miss her terribly for a long time to come. That is not any slight against King Charles, he has had a long time to plan his reign & any Goals he wants to achieve & I'm sure he'll do his very best as King. However, Statistics say 4 in every 5 Brits, have never known anyone else on The British Throne than Queen Elizabeth ll. Many Academics, Historians & Real Social Commentators are already calling her Reign, The Second Great Elizabethan Era. King Charles lll has got a hard act to follow & some Very Large Shoes to fill. If he tries to change too much, too early no matter how good his changes may be, he will face inevitable comparison to "The Queens way" of doing things. She has been a constant in so many lives & while in no way we expect The Crown to continue along the same course that the late Queen set for years, we also aren't ready yet to throw out her way of doing things. One of the keys to her having such a successful reign, was that she at first continued her fathers way of doing things. The UK & Commonwealth Realms had only just started to recover after WWll & Queen Elizabeth understood that in the aftermath of War, Edward Vllls Abdication & the Loss of a very well loved King, her people needed a time of settled, calm Rule, not even more upheaval. That alone set the tone of how she would Rule, her Duty to her people was absolute, fulfilling the Oath she made on her 21st Birthday. We all said goodbye to one of the biggest Constants in our lives, she maybe gone but she will never be forgotten. Her voice sounding out at The Festival of Remembrance was a Surprise, the unmistakable voice that we grew to love over the years, was as recognisable as our own Parents voices. One of her last big wishes was that we gave Her Son Charles & his Queen Consort Camilla, the same Loyalty & Support that we gave Her over the Years. It's ok to miss her & shed a tear when we come across her unexpectedly, that will happen for a long time, but we also need to honour her wish & look forward to the King as she wanted.
@@vickyRoyalHistory So beautifully written. Thank you 💝 🙏😥

This so-called 'Queen' leaves behind a legacy of denial of treacherous plunder from nations, killing of innocent, unarmed civilians through inhuman laws and staying defiant on the crimes against humanity that her Empire perpetrated. She had 70 years to openly repent for their actions, but never once did I hear I'm sorry, or please forgive us, not once. She also had all the time in the world to return some or all of the stolen stones and artifacts from Africa and Indian subcontinent but never did. The torture, and Mutilation of people in the colonies can never be forgotten, or forgiven. She must be remembered in the light of her greedy, selfish actions and not some romanticized, redundant title. May those who perished because of her family's greed find peace. May humanity be spared from such characters in future
It feels so empty without her 😢
That is so true. Hard to imagine she is no longer here but we have great memories of a wonderful woman who served her country in the war and afterwards for such a long time. I will miss her smile her soothing voice and her Christmas messages. On that note I honestly believe that the King has had alot of great advice from her and so far he hasn't disappointed. He has lost both and really stepped up to the plate. God save our King. be at peace our Queen.

The sound of Queen Elizabeth's voice and the quiet sound of the petals falling...very moving. Much love from America. ♥️
Well said. I will never forget the speech she gave during covid. I believe the world benefitted from Her wise words. I do believe The Monarchy is safe with King Charles, Prince William and the other working royals.

@@lisabradford8180 Lisa, it's not and we're not, I assure you. I'm British and have found the words of you and your fellow countrymen on social media very comforting and moving. Thank you.
What an eerie feeling, listening to our late Queen. She was always touched by Remembrance Day & very aware of the cost of Human Life. Her own family did not escape loss during the Great war or WW ll. She was always aware of her Duty as Head of the armed Services, she was always happy when she could meet them & was very proud of every Soldier, Sailor & Air Crew who served the United Kingdom in any Capacity. God has taken her home now for much deserved rest, if it is possible, she'll be watching over all those young men & women in Uniform & her Son, who has taken up the Baton of Duty will be doing as she did for so many Years. We will Remember Them.
It's true
Silence often is the most poignant tribute that exists. Love the falling poppy petals.
So lovely to see & hear her very respectfully done. Miss her. 💔 God Bless our King now. ❣

Words simply cannot convey the majesty, the poignancy and the impact of that moment. Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth epitomized everything that has made the United Kingdom great: humility, resilience, determination and "grace under pressure." God comfort the royal family in their loss, and God Save the King!
