Wow, for a High School production, that was quite good! ~ Have we beheld professional-dancers emerge from education of youth, and lovely young-singer on the verge of becoming a shining-star? Appears a "rising star"! ~ Let seasons-passage of time, and temporal celestial motions tell. - Who may radiate on future stages, to fames praises, let fate tell?
This song of animated fantasy story, woven-fictional from true tragedy, always moves me deeply. Sometimes even to tears, pondering the layers of meaning: In thought of what a real-surviving Anastasia would have suffered, had she somehow lived-on, only dim-memories glowing faintly in her mind, like embers. Then from a music-box tune, bursting out of a silver-storm of one December, phantom-like images of royal-family's elegant ball-room event, a dear mother and father near, to hold safe and warm. And in the mind, graceful dancing nobles and princesses, stirring warm-memories. Thence kindled into consuming flames, burning painful terror, deadly-nightmare of fallen dark-night, sudden-awakened, seized with trembling-fright!
One could weep for all the lost souls, ruthlessly hunted down. An Empire's convulsions of violence and blood, and era ruthlessly taken-down. ~ How many young girls had to bear the sorrows and horrors, traumatized in the shadow of despotism, then onset of darkest-night of bloody-raging Revolutionary Communism?!
After that the music stopped. And the strains of repression rose to a human-tormenting crescendo! ~ Followed by the punishing Thunderstorm of WAR!
