You have to take very good care of your voice. No smoking/heavy drinking. Also vocal chords are like muscles, so you have to keep them in shape (keep singing).
This is why Liz is my favorite vocalist. After 20 years, she still sounds AMAZING ! Her voice barely aged and that last note at the end of Journey To The Past, it's the same than the studio version and it was LIVE ! And she held it for 15 seconds without even wavering a bit, she's just INCREDIBLE !
Woaaah! The movie "Anastasia" always gives me chills especially in the part where she sang "once upon a december". Now seeing the original singer at this age singing it all in live makes me cry in awe. Just awesome! This has always been my favorite Disney film. 💗
@Alex Johnson okay technically the artists/directors were a part of Disney at one point but it's not Disney as a whole, it was a contender for 20th Century Fox.
Listen to any of her work from the Broadway show, Baby, particularly the songs "The Story Goes On" and "Two People in Love". She had rock solid singing technique from day one, which is why she can still sound like this at nearly 60. The Story Goes On: Liz on Broadway in 1983, ua-cam.com/video/rhi4xNxL-Pk/v-deo.html
Was mesmerized by her singing from Anastasia as a child, and I still am today. What a lovely voice. I would play the cassette of the Anastasia soundtrack so many times and annoy my parents x)
Wow. Just wow. I dont think I've ever seen a seasoned singer be able to keep their voice so perfectly in tact. She literally still has the voice of a 20 yr old and sounds just like she did in the films. Amazing.
Watching this video makes me feel like im watching Anastasia for the first time again! Her voice is so beautiful!! Sounds like its coming from someone much younger she is amazing xx
I always loved the voice of "odett" in swan princess and I have always loved this song. I NEVER KNEW it was the same women. I am in love right now. I was 12 when these came out and I'm having some serious emotional moments. Haha, I like I found a long lost best friend...
Such an INCREDIBLE performance from one of musical theatre's best voices, thank you for this!!! When she exclaims 'Yes!' and her arm bursts forward at 4:05, my goodness it's just so POWERFUL
it's 2021 and I still feel like these songs are so fresh, amazing. I close my eyes and I'm a kid again and my mum and bro still live,we sing along and watch a movie on DVD,together,as a family... thank you Liz
I love Lea Salonga and Jodi Benson, but I think Liz Callaway is even better than those ladies. Her singing is more consistent, her tone fuller and richer, she can belt stronger. And she's incredible live - amazing technique, her voice hasn't aged a day! On the top of that Liz is a genuine, kind person, I love her so much.
I can't get over how absolutely beautiful Liz's voice is. Hearing a slower vibrato is always a treat. I can't help but wonder how amazing she would be singing with the Tabernacle Choir. Thank you for posting.
Anastasia has such great songs. The musicals now are way too expositional in their songs. Songs in musicals should enhance our understanding of the characters’ motivations not move a story along.
I get where you're coming from, but I somewhat disagree. 1776 is one of my favorite musicals, and it uses songs to let us know what the characters' motivations are, but it also uses them to move the story along.
Great musicals do both methinks. Anastasia itself is a good example of this. The song "Learn to Do It" is both Anya preparing for the encounter with her grandmother in Paris through the teachings of Dimitri and Vlad (which is necessary to the plot) as well as her remembering more about herself and her own confidence in the process (which is character growth in line with her established motivation to find out more about her past). I agree though that musicals should keep character motivation and emotion more forefronted than they tend to sometimes.
Liz Callaway is one of my favourite vocalists!! Even after all these years, her voice still sounds as young, effortless, and vibrant as when she first recorded those songs. So nostalgic, ♥ , my childhood as a 90s baby in a nutshell: Kiara (Lion King II), Princess Jasmine (Aladdin II & III), Anastasia (Anastasia), Princess Odette (The Swan Princess), etc.

WOW WOW WOOOOWWWW!!!!! Her voice is incredibly AMAZING!!! OMG I had goosebumps when she reached those high notes especially at the end!!! And she still sounds the same!! LOVE IT!!!
They made goosebumps because of her.... Just beautiful. It doesnt matter how old you get, if you love to sing you will always be able to sing with you're hearts content. She is just magnificent...👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
jumbosstar don’t base her talent off that video. For one, the version of journey to the past that is used in the musical is slowed down considerably compared to the movie, and on top of that, she had just gotten over a cold and had finished a two show day, making it the third time she performed that song that day. The circumstances weren’t ideal. I was able to see it live, and trust me, Christy is just as talented as Liz; her voice gave me chills during the entire performance. A duet would sound amazing!
O M Geeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Waited 30 years to see the actual singer put these beautiful notes into the world "in person". My Goodness. She is still so so so amazing. Thank you for singing with all of your heart Liz and for singing right into the hearts of others.
Her voice sounds like it's coming from someone in their 20's. Liz is 57. That's pretty incredible.
Actually incredible not pretty
Voice never get old
Because she is the actress of Anastasia
In addition to her genetic gift, she obviously has great technique, exceptional training and dedicated and disciplined vocal hygiene!
Like a sparkling crystal.
It's nice to put a face to the voice but... How??? How can she sound exactly like she did when I was just a kid watching the animation??? WOW!
Liz is the best! Thanks for watching :)

👍
She also sang for Odette and Jasmine. She still sounds exactly like the movies, it’s beautiful

👍
Her and Leah Salonga sounds the same after 2 decades
Goosebumps. It seems like only yesterday. Anastasia was indeed a very well done movie.
Couldn't agree more! Thanks for watching :)
She still got it
Yes she does!
👍
Her voice feels like shes projecting a picture in your mind and she just takes you a different place. Her voice is so perfect.
Agree!! I feel that same way when I hear her sing!
It so true..her voice has this inexplicable quality..such a vocal purity like a ray of light from above.
This woman has vocal cords of silk and gold

Liz is incredible! Thanks for watching, Marie! :)
Heyyy...I wanna watch this movie....is this a single movie or in parts?
It's actually a 20th Century fox movie, but very Disney-like indeed.
@@omamajohnpaul4215 True, but it kind of is a Disney movie now
@Alex Johnson okay technically the artists/directors were a part of Disney at one point but it's not Disney as a whole, it was a contender for 20th Century Fox.
She still sounds as good as 20 years ago
She sounds like a 20 years old girl. What an amazing performance. Sad to not have known about her before, truly an amazing artist. Outstanding.
Listen to any of her work from the Broadway show, Baby, particularly the songs "The Story Goes On" and "Two People in Love". She had rock solid singing technique from day one, which is why she can still sound like this at nearly 60.

Just found out who Liz Callaway is this week. She has one of the most beautiful voices I've ever heard. Her version of Medowlark is unmatched.
Liz is one of Broadway's brightest and one of the world's greatest talents... EVER!
Was mesmerized by her singing from Anastasia as a child, and I still am today. What a lovely voice. I would play the cassette of the Anastasia soundtrack so many times and annoy my parents x)
👍
Suddenly, I'm 5 years old again. This is amazing. 😭
Her voice makes me cry. She's a real princess. ❤
She still has it.
Liz is amazing! Thanks for watching.
👍
Why are you everywhere? 🤣
The lady can hold a note!
Really love how this was arranged. The shift from Once Upon a December to Journey to the Past is as divine as Liz Callaway's voice!🙌🏽
Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed the video!
#MichaelJMoritzJr I'm 😭 She sing my favorite song called is Journey to the Past
👍
She still has that youthful voice. Wow.
The transition from Once Upon a December to Journey to the Past gave me chills.
This woman 😩 absolutely effortless key changes.. she's an absolute inspiration!
I can't believe she sings for Anastasia, Kiara (Lion king), Jasmine (Aladdin) and the Swan Princess. Her voice is iconic! ❤️
Lea Salonga is Jasmine for Aladdin though.
Love Will Find A Way is one of my favourite songs in Lion King, didn't know she's the singer 😮 Her voice is beautiful
imagining grandma Anastasia singing to her grandkids 😍
It’s July 2022 and I’m thinking to myself how lucky we are to be alive to see and hear such a talented and phenomenal human being
she DOESN’T SOUND ANY DIFFERENT, HOW? 🤩
Taking care of her voice and having great singing technique.
Wow. Just wow. I dont think I've ever seen a seasoned singer be able to keep their voice so perfectly in tact. She literally still has the voice of a 20 yr old and sounds just like she did in the films. Amazing.
I used to watch Anastasia and The Swan Princess constantly- Liz Callaway made my childhood 💕💕💕
This is someone who treasures her instrument and takes care of it very well. Very few singers experience such little to no wear after 20+ years
Ok...if you don't get goosebumps from that last note...then you are a corpse...period. Liz sang her heels off!!! Timeless voice!!!
Love Anastasia movie, and the songs incredible.
That voice so fresh and young✨
Watching this video makes me feel like im watching Anastasia for the first time again! Her voice is so beautiful!! Sounds like its coming from someone much younger she is amazing xx
I'm obsessed with her voice. She has my favourite female vocals.
The transition from Once Upon A December to Journey To The Past connected by Liz's sustained note gave me goosebumps.
I always loved the voice of "odett" in swan princess and I have always loved this song. I NEVER KNEW it was the same women. I am in love right now. I was 12 when these came out and I'm having some serious emotional moments. Haha, I like I found a long lost best friend...
Holy crap. She hasn’t changed a bit. 👏 bravo

Deva7 you're right.,.,..
👍
Agreed! I also feel that way about Judy Kuhn (Pocahontas)
That last note tho, she nailed it!
The transition from one song to the other is gorgeous. Also, her voice is stunning. Lovely to finally put a face to the voice.
I LOVE HER VOICE :")
OMG! I didn't even know this happened last year I wouldn't had miss it... Cried all the way, since she started singing til the end... 👏❤
Glad you enjoyed the video! Liz is absolutely amazing!
Liz Callaway is the best singer ever and in my opinion, I love the way she sings Anastasia's songs best
That was such a smooth transition from one song to the next
In her voice she still has it journey to the past she had it good
Had goosebumps. Love Once a December
Her voice is perfect!!
This is flawless. Perfection.
I can't get over how absolutely beautiful Liz's voice is. Hearing a slower vibrato is always a treat. I can't help but wonder how amazing she would be singing with the Tabernacle Choir. Thank you for posting.
Wonderful majestic voice! Liz gives me chills listening to her. It's good to hear Anastasia's singing voice.
Awesome voice..pure and Crystal clear...
how she manages to capture youthful whimsey in her voice at 50 is definitely lighting in a bottle
Maestra, how beautiful is to see real, gorgeous poeples' talents behind the animated, artificial "beauty". You are the beauty and more.
Just indescribable. Liz has one of my all time voices. So many memories. I cry every time. ❤️ I know the whole soundtrack by heart
Love Liz! Thanks for watching and hope you subscribe for more awesome vids!
She pulls very sensitive heart strings
They couldn’t give her any reverb?! 😑
She still sounds splendid though!
YES! She deserves to ECHO. That powerhouse?! You gotta let that echo
Wow!!! After so long.. she still can sing just as good 2 decades ago. Amazing!
This woman is so ridiculously talented its insane

Great musicals do both.
I’m watching Anastasia in 2022 and she STILL sounds the same … such an amazing vocalist
I used to sing this song to my girls, before bed. 😢
Now one is in college the other in high school. This song is awesome.
Great memories
I'm just shivering now. Its been long

Isso marcou minha infancia !!
She’s absolutely incredible
Can I see both Liz and Christy Altomare re-record the song as a duet?
Christy (if based on the performance I saw on youtube - an anniversary performance) is not as good as her
