- A playthrough of American Laser Games' 1992 arcade FMV light gun shooter, Mad Dog II: The Lost Gold.
This video shows the game being played as it appeared in Majesco's 2009 compilation disc for the Nintendo Wii, Mad Dog McCree: Gunslinger Pack.
The sequel to Mad Dog McCree doesn't do much to mess with the gameplay of the original, but that's just fine. The simplicity of these games is one of their strengths as arcade titles.
You still run around trying to out-gun the entire wild west with your light-gun six shooter, you still get challenged to duels, and there are plenty of ridiculous shots of people falling over and through random objects.
I much prefer this game over the first Mad Dog. Lost Gold has substantially more content than it's predecessor by providing a choice of three separate guides. Each guide takes you on a different path to get the map, and you'll only see each route once each game. At least now it takes playing it three times instead of just one too see everything worth seeing!
I've included all three paths in this video, but I don't show playing through the game three different times. Rather, I show the entire first path, and at the point where all three paths come back together for the final stretch, I cut back to the guide select screen and show the second path. I do the same with the third, and then the video continues on as it would in the original game. I figured this made a lot more sense than showing the identical beginning and ending three separate times.
The first path (Shooting Beaver) begins at 4:24.
The second path (Buckskin Bonnie) begins at 7:45.
The third path (The Professor) begins at 12:16.
All three paths reconverge at 16:15, and the game continues on the same from that point regardless of the guide you chose.
The branching videos are short, but the added replay value was nice - especially because the first home versions were all $50-60 when they came out! I also really appreciate that this game had music added to it - it doesn't sound quite as empty as the first one did.
It's a great game for fans of light-gun shooters and FMV - if that sounds like you, I'd recommend picking it up!

"monk appears"
shot in the chest without even saying a word
love it 🤣
''Time to meet your maker''
"Your bullets are faster than arrows."
Yeah, no shit.
Lmao ikr. It's like, have you even seen Dances With Wolves? Kevin Costner got it. God.
Mad Dog II might not be the most original sequel ever, but the improved production values and branching story are definitely perks for fans of the first game wanting more.
I played this game like 25 years ago and always lost at 15:20, never knew you had to make the explosives blow up
12:21 - I love how in the background two cowboys are playing the first MDM game.
How am I only noticing this now? 😂
Well spotted!
It is amazing, they got those horses to fall down and everything. Very good production values.
5:57 "We need this stand of tepees to be the same from shot to shot... Eh, the horse in the background won't be a problem, they know to stand still, right?"
2:54 Jesus Christ! That guy's got more arrows in him than Boromir!
"Got a light?" 😂👌
G.D Rose “Woo! That was an big one....”
Nouuu...

@@MrRenix1990 Mario: "it's been one of those days."
8:17 This cracks me up, every time.
I remember playing this as a kid, you brought back so much memories.
Mad Dog is harder to kill than a cockroach.
makes you wonder if he is/was an ancestor of Wild Dog from the Time Crisis games
A classic 👌 at the Arcades, A game I loved playing and beating
I remembered seeing one of these arcade games at the local mall, before it was closed and torn down, then replaced with a new Wal*Mart. I missed the days when the nearest malls had some of the best stores in one building.
Bookstores, cinemas, arcade, food courts, fashion places and toy stores. It was a small mall in a small city, but it was one of my childhood places to go to once a month.
I remember seeing this game in the early 90s in arcade. It was so ahead of its time to have this interative movie like video game. I was impressed when I first saw it back then.
I remember playing this when it came out for pc. Good old days
6:38 I'm dead xD
*BANG*... ... whh...
This game wouldn't be as memorable without the goofy production values and fun stunts, good stuff
I love this game
I been a big admirer of the Wild West i played Red Dead Revolver and Red Dead Redemption as well a fan of Sergio Leone's Westerns and i got to say this game was awesome
Red Harlow from “Revolver” and Uncle from “Redemption” are the same person
(17:40) *Prospector:* God! They stick like Rotten Glue! Let’s get em!
Ive played this a lot as a kid on my pentium 75 mhz with 8mb ram, vga videocard, soundblaster 400 soundcard, double speed cd-rom drive and a 853mb hard drive. Back then it cost 3000gulden. Almost 1500euro.🤣
Never noticed the bad acting until now. And i never apreciated the awesome stuntwork until now.
There was a place called Fun World in Sanford, FL that had one of these machines. I never beat it, but it was one of the first video games I ever played. Just as old as I am.
Игрушка из моего детства, ещё когда 3do существовал
Эхх ностальгия 😅
I loved both soooo much as a kid ... how cool is this ... bad acting i did not notice back in the day
“Your bullets are faster than arrows”
Oh man, that -dude- cowboy with the hat on a stick.
Alan Brown Yeah that guy is awesome lol. What a genius survival tactic!
I'm sure that ate up a few quarters
Never understood how Mad Dog kept surviving every game after being killed in the duels.
Maybe he's someone from Wild Dog family? :p
But he never appeared in the third game?
@@Nestalgba92023 The Last Bounty Hunter is sort of a spin-off to MDM though it looks like it's in the same time period
@@slodekslod9337 maybe he's Wild Dog's ancestor!
He’s just like CJ, who respawns after death in the nearest hospital
Good times american laser games
Great acting I love it but it's a bit short, I've downloaded it in my 3ds eshop
Perfection. Also, trees seemed far greener back then.
look closely behind the Professor in his intro, couple of dudes are playing Mad Dog McCree 1
HAHA!! XD
Dat thumbnail!! X3
I had NO Idea this had a sequel!!
Nice how it's a bit more diverse with different enemies and different scenarios!!
(I don't know cause I never played either of these games, but)Can't help but wonder if the game gives you a penalty fer shootin' an enemy before they draw.. ...
If you try to do that you will automatically lose a life
get "shot" lose a life
shoot an innocent-lose a life
fail a QTE-lose a life
“How many times do I have to tell ya? Put it back in the holster!”
Hot damn! Kenny Rogers is back!
9:20 I would've never seen that!
I played this game when I worked at an arcade.
I never realized that that man at 3:00 was speaking with more arrows than Boromir in him... included one in his neck..
If Michael Bay made a western it would look like this.
This was better than some westerns, great music.
Nice shooting man!
Ahh the memories.
skip this scene after of Boarding House 4:12
14:46 That man in a suit is taking cover.
20:44, The woman. Did anyone thought the same or it is just me? 😏
You are pro menn. Great video i love it to watch
The actors' over-selling put HBK at 2005 Summerslam to shame.
The town used in the final shootout. Where is that? It looks amazing.
MI PAPA ES UN APACHE NATIVO TEXANO QUE VINO A MEXICO AUN VIVE Y TRABAJA TIENE 69 AÑOS HABLA INGLES JERGA Y ESPAÑOL MODERNO
He's robbing the train!
The train: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Also, the final level reminds me of Eggmanland from Sonic Unleashed where its pretty much the villain's ideal territory.
Funny enough,MadDog McCree kinda has an ego rivalling that of Eggman's.
Good quality video.
I have the original on PC, it's an awesome game, but it's pretty low resolution.
"You look Honest my friend. Find the Treasure.
Return it to the Mission, and receive your reward ...
in Heaven. " ☠
Buckskin Bonnie is cutie
Lol! You can see the guy's head tilting to the other actor at 5:02-5:04! Train mission looked hard! Also how did you know which one to shoot in the Gatling gun part?
The guide tells you what to shoot before you get there
Oh really? I must have missed it. Thanks!
@@AdmiralLink it's randomized, it's either the Moonshine, the lantern, or the ammo box
I get that the acting isn't supposed to be spectacular, but if they couldn't find one with an English accent, they should've told him not to bother.
What emulater did you use
ummm, all bullets are faster than arrows ....
Where can I buy this game for wii? The mad dog 2?
Wow Cool 🎮 I 👍 It
What happens when you shoot the good people. Do they make animations for that as well?
If you shoot an innocent, you get a scene with the undertaker beside a coffin and he scolds you saying "This WAS a good man", or "That was a good woman you shot, and they're hard to find."
Azuritereaction would be astonished
1:43 ¿ QUIERES SABER UN VERDADERO SECRETO ? "TODOS SOMOS AZULES"
So far American Laser Game mostly covers genre of Western theme, of course with modern cop theme, gangster theme and sci-fi theme. Wonder what if American Laser Game touches theme like World War 1 and 2, Vietnam War, Gulf War, 60s spy theme, 70s blackploitation theme etc
I D BUY IT FOR A DOLLAR... Robocop would be pleased...
shot the messenger too?? 😂🤣😅
*OI! MATE!*
(Sorry That’s litreally the only character that makes me laugh in this game, although I think the prospecter is funnier. 😁)
Is it me or this remastered version looks like a remastered 90's - 2000's telenovela
Probably because it’s the original laserdisc footage and this version being on the Wii which outputs at 640x480. A resolution used by TVs in the 90s to mid-2000s
Why wasn’t there a mad dog 3
Mad dog mccree ii have bad ending show ending inside a chest instead a gold there inside a sand prospector, priest, beaver, bonnie and professor make confused. This bad ending played if you used continue
Idk how they managed to do it, but somehow the acting in this game is even cheesier than in the first game!🤦🏼♀️😅 ...these type of games are fun to watch!
12:02
Mad Dog has Sponge Bob’s eyes 😂
I like to think “lost manhood” refers to being shot in the sack
I like to think “lost manhood” refers to being shot in the sack. Also, as a Brit, it’s funny how The Professor always pronounced bloody as blooty.
