I'm just watching this episode on the TV for the umpteenth time.
It never ceases to amaze me how Ed fixes a car. Take their current issue. The fuel system not working. I took on classic cars and kept old ones going and looking back now I can't remember things going to plan.
I'd put out a head for overhaul...the overhauler says his too busy and I have to wait two months....I take it in when he says....sorry he says one of my blokes is off because his daughter's had a mis-carridge and he can't miss other contracts....you'll have to go to someone else.
    I'd diagnose a defective sender....new ones wouldn't be available.
I'd diagnose a leaky fuel tank....I'd give it to someone, pay £1500 for the repair....then it would still leak and the company's gone out of business.
I'd put it all back together....and it would sort of work....then I'd work on something else and come back to it and it wouldn't work at all. ''But I haven't done anything to it!'' I'd shout.
Giving up cars was the best thing I ever did. I have a firms car now, I don't even chainge a puncture.

Cars can be an addiction like anything else. But as long as you stay withing your means, be it financially, but also emotionally and spare time.

Edd was the Brains behind the old show, I hope things work out for him.

I agree, Edd China was the best mechanic on Wheeler Dealers. Mike Brewer should go back to his paper route or be car salesman, they're a dime a dozen.

may be in England it is surface rust, if the spring snapped like that ,that is a rot ,and while you are at it why not change the stabilizer bar bushing that are dry and cracked!

Not always the case with springs, Ive found snapped springs on cars less than 10 years old with no corrosion.

Was the heat treat compromised? Does that cross member need to be annealed?

Atleast get a heavy dose of waxoil into it, or it will rot out, as the heat has burned out all previous protection.

Just painting over rust does not solve the problem.

Broken spring... that was probably why Mike was "bowled over by the driving experience".

Volvo B-series is a lot like a large Ford Kent. Source; I've owned two classic Volvos and many English small Fords.

What's going on ? Wheeler dealers is getting out old Edd videos to get some audience ? I can honestly and sincerely say that I have not watched WD since Edd Left except One episode in case of a good surprise... Its has become a show for Americans, if that ...

WD's appeal has really tanked. Why would they put a Hemi in an old Barracuda to build a drag car? The premise of the show is to buy a car, repair/upgrade, and then sell it. Hopefully making a profit. The old WD, before it was "made in USA" was much more interesting. This isn't Edd vs. Ant. It's more interesting vs. predictable, scripted reality TV with poorly written dialog.
