As a very long term E Type owner, i would have changed brake pads on the IRS with it out. Just a great show no matter the vehicle under repair, thanks.
I did a full BELL stainless exhaust system in my '65 S type. Was quite easy. But I did not use the "U" clamps, they crimp and distort the joints making it impossible to separate exhaust parts later. I used stainless steel Band clamps.
A class A bell end action indeed. They shafted edd, and now they need him,because mike the tosspot and Ant don't cut it. Ant is not too bad, but mr brewer is a typical salesman.

Great video, really reminds me of 40 years spent turning wrenches. The blue paint job, however, is unworthy of the car. Also the only proper color for a respray is British racing green -

So back in the summer, I took out the rear end on my E-type and did all kinds of service work and upgrades. One job was, of course, the diff pinion oil seal. And I said to myself that's OK I have a hand break mechanism to hold everything steady while I wind off the nut. But I'm not Ed with 1000psi grip pressure so no that didn't work, I used a large G-clamp. I would like to see Ant or Elvis do it Ed's way - bet they couldn't.
LMAO that car is worth a small fortune now... it's a MK2 so it's not the big money version, but it's still worth a solid $70k regardless. Much more than they were trading it for back when the show was on. It's actually really funny to see some of the cars these guys fixed up in the past and how drastically they've increased in value since. Not many E-Type owners are going to be doing budget repairs for a quick flip these days lol.

All this Ant vs Ed China stuff. So I did an experiment. My wife had never watched this show, so I showed her 2 episodes on-demand with Ant and 3 episodes on You Tube with Edd. She said that Ant was prettier, and talked better than Ed. But more importantly that the show was better with Ant because 'it doesn't get bogged down in technical stuff'. In TV terms it has gone looking for a new audience, While some feel Mike drags things down, others think he is the reason for the show as he adds drama, and humor. I've never looked at it as a DYI show, after all how many rear fandangles are you going to replace on that Porsche 998. Some tips such as windscreen installation are handy but really are a dime a dozen on the internet. All in all, I have no argument with the producers replacing Ed with Ant
I've seen Ferraris, Lambos and even Shelby cobra's but the only car i seriously wished i was rich enough to own was 2 of these. Jaguar XKE (or, as the British know it E Type) Why 2? One for spare, of course.
How annoying are these 7 minute videos when EVERYONE would prefer to have access to the whole episode and be able to skim through it. That's what youtube is all about!!

If I'm honest these older episodes make Mike look like an abusive husband. He shows up now and then, gives Ed crap about not doing enough etc. Ed says Mike won't be happy about how much it costs. Ed labours all day to impress Mike. Really strange to watch now from a different perspective.
Any idea how much they sold the e type for ? I've just watched the show here in South africa where I live, in 2024, three quarters way the TV went on the blink, so did not see the entire show. !
You think that back box is bad my civic eg had one put on in 2016 before i owned it and its all rusted and blown already. the rest of the car is actually like new before you leave a smart comment. just a cheap backbox...

Isnt it just best to use a torque wrench? as who knows if the nut has even been loose before and put back on correct spec....

if you disconnect the brake lines, does that allow air in, or are there special valves that keep the brake lines pressurized?
Yes, with the system open it cannot be pressurized. Air bubbles will almost always get in.
Can I remove the exhaust manifold for the Jaguar 1971 Serie III V12 from the right front side without removing the engine?
Yes, you can. Is a little fiddly work but I got mine out before I removed the engine.
