Hi 👋 Sir, I had a Z900rs and I had to mount g2 throttle tamer tube because its one was really grumpy. When I trade it for the new katana (and gained 35 ponies) I worried because I heard about that modification but was a little skeptical. Well, in my opinion it’s almost perfect. I also own a Monster 620 and the problem was very annoying: in that case, I think that Ducati made a large diameter throttle tube to mask some lack of power a little bit. Also there I mounted G2 throttle tamer and it worked perfectly. I think the solution is not a smaller tube diameter, but kind of evolutive profile to regain cable winding “lost” angle at low throttle opening. Obviously definitive solution is DBW throttle bodies… and a good managing software
The 2020 model gsxs1000 throttle tube is the same as the katana one Iv just got a 2015 gsxs1000 and it is far too snatchy so spoke to Suzuki dealership they said it’s the same throttle tube as the katana and the gsxs1000 2020 model so just ordered one can’t wait for it to be smoother I love this bike
@@longdog67 yeah there amazing I ride all year round commute and with the traction control and abs and the power I love this thing can see me putting a lot of miles on this thing
fix trottle issue is in the ECU i get a new ECU on my first service and fixed it on my 2016 and it is free if you shall adjust the TPS it shall be 1.13volt idle mode cable cost like 80 euro but if you buy TPS kable on kawasaki dealer some i did you get cable for 20 euro.
They fitted a new ECU on your first service? Did you have a fault so they needed to replace it? Mines a 2019 so it should have the later ECU fitted from factory. I'd be interested to find out.
@@longdog67 they fitted new ecu becasue fix the trottle issue it whas free i dint pay noting al bike some deliver to Europe have fuelt rato wrong set thats becasue they set it same for eu and usa. And i told this to my dealer and he told yea yea all ecu shall be replaced from 2015 to 2018
Interesting bit of info, many say the only way to cure is an ecu flash, my bike is 2019 model new in January 2020 and quite snatchy, I asked on one of the forums and the guy's said my bike would already have the katana throttle tube fitted from factory, what do you think?
Don't know mate. Mine is a '19 bike & didn't have the new tube fitted. It made a difference to mine. I've recently had the fuel, tps & air sensors reset. That made a lot of difference.
Does the new throttle tube have as much travel as the standard? I seem to have to really twist mine to get the most out of it. Gonna give this katana tube a try and see if that fixes it. Mines a 2015
Hi.....I've done a bit of research and found the part number for the throttle tube on the Katana is the same as the GSXS- 1000 ??? can anybody clarify this please?
Yeah. I think you're right. The pre 19 gsxs has some really abrupt emissions controls. As you roll off the throttle, the fuel is also cut off, then, when you roll back on it comes in with a jolt. Apparently the 19 models onwards are much better.
2020 Model GSX-S1000 is way much better, they improve the Snatchiness of the Throttle. And, I do not know if the Previous Models of GSX-S1000 Rear Suspension Spring Pre-Load is Adjustable. This Compensates for the Rider, Load, Riding Style and Road Conditions. You don't need to go Aftermarket.😀
Yeah. Previous models springs are preload adjustable. Would just help if it had compression & rebound damping adjustment. '19 model onward has the new throttle tube so snatchyness is much better.
What year is your bike? Out of curiosity also was that the key that came with your bike or did you have to get it cut etc As the GSXS1000 key for 2016 is ugly as sin
Up to you mate. I changed the tube first & it was much better. Then I got the tps done & it improved it more. Personal choice really. I just try to not spend too much money on it, so Im trying not to spend on a remap at the moment.
Very easy. Loosen the throttle cable. 2 screws to take off the twist grip. Remove cables, put new grip on. Reverse procedure. I'll do a video over the weekend.
I switched out the throttle tube today as specified and it is awesome - 90% fixed (probably more, but I am a curmudgeon)!
I must’ve been one of the lucky ones as my stock GSXS never had the throttle problem… The fueling was always very good

Beautiful bike, I have the f version 😍 ever consider an ECU flash? You can correct everything that way.
I have thought about it. Just not done it yet.

Hi so you put the Katana throttle on you and it’s much better
Yes. Smooths out the snatchy bottom end.
Longdog 67 thanks as soon as the shops are open will get one
Where can I buy update throttle tube for gsxr 600/ 2016 ?
Don't know. Sorry.
Just try local Suzuki dealer.
Not sure the Katana tube will fit the GSXR 600.

Its actually off the new katana. Costs about £17.
@mtb supertroll I haven't. I'll ask him. I've really been trying to do as little as possible to the bike to keep costs down & keep the warranty.
just bought mine from Suzuki dealership here in Belgium cost 23 euros
@mtb supertroll I adjusted mine, it wasn't out by much to start with, it did make some difference but still snatchy!
My 2020 is very snatchy aswell, I mite look in to this
Well worth a try.
It works, I just did it and the results are transformative.

Ok, thanks, that's what I thought.... So why fit the throttle tube from the Katana... Doesnt make sense If its identical to the GSXS-1000??

True. But I've had the idle speed parameters reset at a local dealers & with this throttle tube fitted. I don't think its necessary.

Yes. That was the key that came with it. It was was bought new in 2019 but its a 2018 model.
Is the TPS adjust needed on a 2018 or just the throttle tube change bud?

@@longdog67 I've not picked it up yet but it's got heated grips on will that make any odds to changing the tube ?
Yes it will. You'll have to remove the rubber grip from the katana tube & fit the heated grip on instead. Should be easy to do.
@@longdog67 cheers bud I've brought a multi meter some wire and some snips today ready for the TPS mod. Can u fmess anything up as I probably will lol
Don't know mate. I got my local dealer to do it. My son works there as a technician.
but what did you actually do?
The throttle twist grip has been changed from the factory fitted one, to the one used on the new Katana. It comes complete with the rubber grip too.

wondering if the tube is the same for a 2018 GSX S1000F...any ideas?
Mine is a 2018 and I swapped the throttle tube for the Katana version, they each had a different
profile, it's not perfect but definitely better.
Hi pal what exactly is the throttle tube mod you did ?
Part number is 57110-07L00-000
It comes complete with the grip.

I would reckon its the same. Looks like they just don't use the last couple of digits.
