Invasion of the Tearling really builds on the interesting alternate future-esque world. I'm finding it absolutely fascinating, not just in plot and characters but also in form and how it's choosing to tell the story and build the world. :) SO GOOD.
I'm reading Uprooted currently and let me just say it's so wonderful and enchanted, it's really beautiful. I'm not quite halfway through the book yet but its just so gripping. I recommend it to everyone. Love it.
You always do a really good job at summarizing the books, Reagan! Seriously, some UA-camrs over-tell in their summaries to the point where you feel like you already read the book, while others don't describe the book enough to gain interest.
Great wrap-up, Regan. You do such an incredible job of describing plots. I've been questioning if I should pick up The Queen of the Tearling for the same reasons, but the fact that you like it makes me want to pick it up. I want to read Uprooted so badly as well.
Ooohhh you are making me want to pick up the Queen of the Tearling like right this second! Also really glad you really liked Uprooted! I absolutely loved it and found it super refreshing :D Magical is definitely the best way to describe it!
I love the Bronze Horseman trilogy. I've been reading the Summer Garden since January and I only have 200 pages left but I've been putting off finishing it for months now. I just don't want to leave these characters, I've gone through too much with them!!
My favorite book that I read this month was the Mark of Athena. Holy crap, so freaking good, and I am loving the House of Hades even more like how can this series just keep getting better? Totally took me by surprise! It had been so many years since I read the Percy Jackson series that over the years I forgot how much I loved it and I think I kind of brought my feelings on Rick Riordan's books down, but I have fallen back in love! Loved your wrap up, really want to read the Queen of the Tearling!
UGH still need to pick up the Bronze Horseman I've had the trilogy for way too long! Also you convinced me to pick up The Queen of Tearling it sounds amazing!! Best of luck with reading in August :)
Favourite by far was The Invasion of The Tearling!!! SO SO SO happy you have finally read the first one. The sequel, I would say, is on par. Desperately waiting for the third instalment!!!
I love, love, love The Queen of the Tearling!!! Read it a while back, now I can't wait to get my hands on Invasion of the Tearling! And I didn't know about Uprooted, so thanks for the heads up!
The Queen of the Tearling sounds really good, I'll have to make a note of that one and add to my tbr list. My favorite book that I read in July was Guided By Moonlight by Holly Hudspeth, it's a stand alone in her Skyy Huntington series. I only read like 3 books in July.
I read 10 books in the month of July and most of them were amazing. My favourites were The Wrath and the Dawn, the first 2 books of the Lunar Chronicles and The King of Hearts by L.H. Cosway. Really like The Maze Runner too.
I loved the first two books in the Bronze Horseman series. I totally agree with you that the Russian setting was wonderful and added depth to a great story. I was quite disappointed with the third book so I'm looking forward to hearing your review on that one. I have Queen of the Tearling but haven't read it yet. Glad to hear that you loved it so I'm looking forward to diving into it soon. You do such a great job on all of your videos and they're such fun to watch. Thanks for giving us such great reviews.
I read 4 books last month. The Killer Angels was good civil war fiction. The autobiography of Malcolm X was amazing. I started World War Z in July but finished it yesterday. Creepily possible interviews of survivors of a zombie Apocalypse.
My favorite book in July was actually Uprooted. I really need to read The Queen of the Tearling. It has been staring at me from my shelf since I bought it on its release day...
Now you have persuaded me to read Uprooted and also the Queen of the Tearling. They both sound really interesting. My favorite book of the month was Also Known as by Robin Benway. I read 18 books this month and 5 graphic novels. Good luck for August reading!
Isn't the old lady in Elizabeth Is Missing called Maud? I might be wrong, I have only read the first chapter and that was months ago. I'm going to try to read it again soon, from what I've read so far I think it'll be okay, I'll probably like it, but it won't be great.
I only read one book this month and that was Me Before You by JoJo Moyes and I LOVED it. I expected it to be a full on romance book but it wasn't and I actually really enjoyed that! I really liked the message that the book conveyed and the fact that it was very realistic from beginning to end :)
I don't know what my favourite book was they were all amazing. I read: - Heir of Fire - Clockwork Princess - Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children - The Giver - This Star Won't Go Out Oh yeah and I also read Ouran High School Host Club vol. 12
I've heard so many great things about Uprooted, I should really give it a go. I've just found your channel. Looking forward to watching more videos. Great wrap up.
The Queen of the Tearling is definitely on my list, I just love books with political intrigue!. Uprooted has only just hit my radar most recently but it sounds great :)
I was in "this is boring" camp for Queen of the Tearling. I ended up DNF'ing it. I need to read Uprooted! I've got the American edition so hopefully I'll get to it sometime this month.
This month I read The alquimist by Paulo Coehlo so good! I also read the sum of our days by Isabel Allende, which was also really good, but much better if you have read Paula first. And I am number four, which was a fast paced fun young adult book.
I read 5 books in July. That's the most books I read in one month this year. ( I'm a slow reader so that's good for me) my favorite this month has to be Uglies.
I really want to read Uprooted, it's been on my amazon wishlist for a while now but I'm trying not to buy too many books at the moment, so it will still have to wait for a while haha. Great video!
I'm currently listening to the audiobook of the Queen of The Tearling (I'm really at the beginning like chapter 4) and it's really different then what I thought it will be about. Great to hear that you loved it :)
If you love politicaly based plots, you should watch Borgen! It's a show from Denmark (I believe) and it is just the best thing, so addicting! It's about the backgrounds do Politics and Social Media - it's great!
Got to say I loved the queen of the tearling as well. I listened to both the first and the second book on audio book and the second one wasn't as good as the first one to me. I don't know if it's because I listened to it on audio book instead of reading it though.
The Queen of the Tearling, I had a Love/Hate relationship with it. With Kelsey, with her guards, with the 'Big Evil Queen' who was really not that scary. I thought Kelsey was a Mary Sue. I'm currently reading Uprooted. I''m at the part after the second coming of the Prince. Again, so far, love and hate.
Have you read Naomi Novik's Temeraire series? Napoleonic War with dragons. It's so delightful and despite being a nine book series (with the ninth book coming out next year) I flew through it.
I've had a pretty bad reading month. I read 3 books and none of them stood out to me. But I just started The Almost Moon by Alice Sebold and so far, it's really good :-D
I'm curious to see what you think of the 3rd book in the Bronze Horseman series. I'm reading it right now, and I'm not *loving* it like I did the first two. Sometimes the sexy times scenes seem gratuitous, and it just feels different...? The environment is different, since they're not in Russia anymore, and the conflict is different (more internal)...and I don't know what to think:/ I'm putting it aside for now.
You should read the Warriors book series by Erin hunter you'll love them and even if you don't like cats like me you will love them anyway well at least consider it.😺😼
I am sooooo glad you enjoyed The Queen of The Tearling! Let me know what you think of the second one. I still need to read it and am planning on rectifying that asap :)
Oooh! You go through some hefty books and Uprooted just sounds amazing! I feel like I had a good reading month too. If you wanna see what I read, feel free to check out mah channel. ^^
Invasion of the Tearling really builds on the interesting alternate future-esque world. I'm finding it absolutely fascinating, not just in plot and characters but also in form and how it's choosing to tell the story and build the world. :) SO GOOD.
Yaaaaas, Regan is lifeeee

I read 18 books in July and I would say my two faves were Mosquitoland and Challenger Deep.
Great job!
BingeReader H-h-how?! That's amazing! O.o
That's incredible!
I loved The Queen of the Tearling, but the sequel is mind blowing! I can't wait for the third!
Great wrap-up, Regan. You do such an incredible job of describing plots. I've been questioning if I should pick up The Queen of the Tearling for the same reasons, but the fact that you like it makes me want to pick it up. I want to read Uprooted so badly as well.
ABasketCaseyReads Uprooted is very special and really worth reading!

Ooohhh you are making me want to pick up the Queen of the Tearling like right this second! Also really glad you really liked Uprooted! I absolutely loved it and found it super refreshing :D Magical is definitely the best way to describe it!
I *finally* read Aristotle and Dante this month.... and just yes.
I'm glad you liked "Wolf in White Van." I wouldn't say I loved it, but I really liked it despite the complexity of the writing.
I love the Bronze Horseman trilogy. I've been reading the Summer Garden since January and I only have 200 pages left but I've been putting off finishing it for months now. I just don't want to leave these characters, I've gone through too much with them!!

I read 10 books in July and my favorite one was probably Origin by Jennifer L. Armerntrout or Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie.
I bought "The Queen of Tearling" this week after I heard so many great things about this book. I hope I get to read it in August :)
I just picked up Elizabeth is Missing on a whim, glad to hear your thoughts before I dive in!
UGH still need to pick up the Bronze Horseman I've had the trilogy for way too long! Also you convinced me to pick up The Queen of Tearling it sounds amazing!! Best of luck with reading in August :)
East of West and Uprooted both sound so good.

I love, love, love The Queen of the Tearling!!! Read it a while back, now I can't wait to get my hands on Invasion of the Tearling!
And I didn't know about Uprooted, so thanks for the heads up!
I just bought The Bronze Horseman and can't wait to begin the series. I didn't know Uprooted was a stand alone. That's really exciting!
Definitely adding Uprooted to my TBR list. Thanks!
I've been in a contemporary mood lately, so my favorite book of July was Amy and Roger's Epic Detour. I also loved More Than This.
The Queen of the Tearling sounds really good, I'll have to make a note of that one and add to my tbr list. My favorite book that I read in July was Guided By Moonlight by Holly Hudspeth, it's a stand alone in her Skyy Huntington series. I only read like 3 books in July.
The bronze horseman trilogy 😢 i think you're gonna love the third one
I read 10 books in the month of July and most of them were amazing. My favourites were The Wrath and the Dawn, the first 2 books of the Lunar Chronicles and The King of Hearts by L.H. Cosway. Really like The Maze Runner too.
I'm from the island that Anne of Green Gables is based on. It's one of our biggest tourist attractions.
I loved the first two books in the Bronze Horseman series. I totally agree with you that the Russian setting was wonderful and added depth to a great story. I was quite disappointed with the third book so I'm looking forward to hearing your review on that one. I have Queen of the Tearling but haven't read it yet. I read 4 books last month. The Killer Angels was good civil war fiction. The autobiography of Malcolm X was amazing. I started World War Z in July but finished it yesterday. Creepily possible interviews of survivors of a zombie Apocalypse.

I need to read "The Queen of the Tearling"!! Sounds so interesting! 😄
My favorite book in July was actually Uprooted. I really need to read The Queen of the Tearling. It has been staring at me from my shelf since I bought it on its release day...
