I’m SO glad you’re loving Borne! It’s the weird book of my dreams toooooo Vandermeer has been my obsession, and each of them are totally different while always have the Vandermeer unique style of weird
I started Assassin’s Apprentice this past week. After watching your journey of reading Robin Hobb it’s been on my TBR. Safe to say my year is also off to a great start and I’m excited to read the rest of the Farseer Trilogy.
Divine Rivals was my favorite book of 2023, loved every word of it. I was so excited about Ruthless Vows and it was such a let down for me I’m still heartbroken about it and it was over a year ago😢 I don’t know, for me it did not capture the same feeling the first book gave me.The angst and the yearning could have been so much more in the sequel but I felt like the conflict in the romance was resolved in such an anti-climactic way. The first book is genuinely just so incredible it set my expectation for the atmosphere and the romance and the vibe so high. It was the perfect setup for the ultimate angst with bittersweet ending but it went in a different direction than I expected. I wish I could be part of the group I keep seeing online who loved the sequel just as much and I’m so jealous. I still bought a hard cover of Divine Rivals and plan to re-read it in the future. My love for it remains true regardless♥️
I came here to say this! It was SUCH a disappointment for me. The villain was comically stupid, the conflict between the gods just made no sense and seemed totally pointless, keeping the main couple separate just lost so much of what they first one great.
'The Teller of Small Fortunes' was my favourite book of last year!!! I was so excited to see you pick it up and happy to hear all your thoughts on it. It's one of those books that is exactly what it promises to be and I just had such a wonderful time reading it.
So glad to hear you are loving Borne! If you end up liking it all the way through you definitely have to also pick up The Strange Bird which is a companion novella, it's so good.
Regan!!! I found a book I think you would love, because the pining is soooo slow burn and delicious!! The Blighted Stars by Megan OKeefe! And it’s a sci-fi!
Well, now I'm adding The Teller of Small Fortunes to the top of my to-read list. I don't think I've ever read a cozy fantasy before and it sounds so lovely! I think could do with something cosy, since I decided to start my year with Beyond Redemption by Michael Fletcher... Not so cosy. 😝
I’m soooo excited you’ve gotten to Jeff Vandermeer’s works!! Can’t wait for your thoughts on the Area X books - which is no longer a trilogy but a tetralogy!!
I've found that Rebecca Ross does a great job of creating tension through the plot and surroundings, rather than the love interests being toxic drama llamas.
Borne sound so weird. I need to read it immediately haha. Ruthless Vows was such a great book, I'm so relieved you liked it haha! I read it last year and need to read more from Rebecca Ross!
If there’s one book I think everyone should read this year, it’s keezano’s Your Life Your Game. It beautifully shows how connecting with God and building meaningful relationships can lead to spiritual growth, and success in both your personal and professional life. This book truly changed my life…a must-read
I liked Ruthless Vows so I was curious as to what your thoughts were. Thanks for sharing. PS: Check out The Personal Librarian by Marie Benedict and Victoria Christopher Murray
@@lindahuson8451 I will look at butterflies but I do NOT like them to come near me. Went to a butterfly garden in a museum like 10-15 years ago? (Dunno when, was ages ago) and thought I could handle it but _N O P E_
I went thru some place in Florida. I walked into an atrium area to get back out at the end…realized it was a live butterfly enclosure. I turned and said I am going back thru the building to get out!🤣
Love this video concept! I really want to read The Teller of Small Fortunes, it sounds right up my alley. And I’m so glad you liked Ruthless Vows! I feel like everyone loves to hate on it but I loved it ❤️
One book I recommend everyone to read in 2025 is Your Life Your Game by Keezano… It beautifully shows how living a life rooted in Christianity and nurturing meaningful relationships can lead to spiritual growth and success in both your personal and professional life. This book truly changed my life-a must-read. God bless✝💟

i also LOVED Ruthless Vows! So many of my friends didn’t like it, but i thought it was so clever and like you said, kept the magic!
The kindle drop made me leap out of my chair like I was the one that had to catch it 😂😂😂
it was a scary moment for me too lol
Watching the vlog and your comment keeps popping up. Every time the kindle is on screen I tense up waiting for the drop 😂

I really like this idea of reading other booktubers' favorite books. That's a great way to expand what you cover.
'The Teller of Small Fortunes' was my favourite book of last year!!!

When I say I SCREAMED! Yayyy! Happy New Year! ❤
Have you watched Frieren? I feel like you would absolutely love it if you enjoy cozy fantasy found family in anime as well!

I’m already subscribed to Elliott but I’m excited to check out the others!
Yay!
I also follow all of these youtubers. No wonder our reading tastes always feel so similar! 😊
I’m also watching Fight For My Way! Are we kindred spirits or what? Watching an old kdrama that no one talks about anymore at the same time 😂
Nice, I loved Borne, and everything Jeff Vandermeer.
I’m soooo excited you’ve gotten to Jeff Vandermeer’s works!! Can’t wait for your thoughts on the Area X books - which is no longer a trilogy but a tetralogy!!
Took me a bit to realize that weird, diagonal line of tiles was a stair.
I've found that Rebecca Ross does a great job of creating tension through the plot and surroundings, rather than the love interests being toxic drama llamas.
Borne is a book im interested in, i also want to read more by Jeff Vandermeer
The Divine Rivals was one of my favorite books of 2023 however Ruthless Vows was a let down for me.. I liked it but not as much as the first one
It's the simple things in life we love - such as grout ❤❤❤❤
Borne sound so weird. I need to read it immediately haha. Ruthless Vows was such a great book, I'm so relieved you liked it haha! I read it last year and need to read more from Rebecca Ross!
I love Matilda looking like E.T. wrapped up on that red blanket, she’s so cute 😭
I love youuuuu Regan❤❤❤
Both Ruthless Vows and The Teller of Small Fortunes are on my tbr for 2025 (care of Elliot and Petrik of course)

For me it is moths and butterflies!
Omg someone else with this phobia lol it’s hard especially when you have friends that are obsessed with moths
@@braainzz it's bad! I have to put a sticky note on our garage door in spring/summer to check so they don't come in! -shiver-

Breaking news😮 Reagan was seen running from a half price book store pursued by a mob of chunky books. She was able to escape😂
❤️📚🐶
I still haven’t read divine rivals 😅
