    I remember seeing my Dad playing in Stormwind during a Krull Rampage when I was a kid. I remember him telling me that the big demon was attacking the City because the Horde summoned the Burning Legion down upon the Alliance. Guess you start gotta feeding 'em the Anti-Horde propaganda when they're young.

    When I hit level 40, I was 15 gold away from getting my mount. A guy that I randomly grouped with to quest lent me the gold I needed. It was crazy that someone that I knew for maybe an hour gave me so much gold. I promised that I would pay it back as soon as I could. I grinded like crazy for 2 days to pay him back. We are still friends today. 15 years later. That is why my level 40 mount is my most memorable moment

    I remember when i first started wow I was a level 10 nelf druid and wanted to explore and travel to eastern kingdoms. I met a high level nelf and asked me to join his group to “explore a secret place”. We were all in IF at this point. It was the first time i met dwarfs and gnomes and a few humans. I was really hyped on this “adventure” but anyways he led us to loch modan and started hoping on cliffs and would show us and then we found this tunnel on the mountain and he said to go in it and everyone did.. and what do you know.. you fall and die endlessly and unable to release... great times.. great times indeed.

      I drove more then a few people off cliffs in Wotlk in that motorcycle engineer mount. Was a warlock so before I would drive someone around I would put down a pad and as we went off the cliff I would just teleport to the pad or just use the engi parachute to save myself. My guild leader at the time was one of the people that fell for it Team speak was full of laughs when they heard him screaming as he fell to his death off the cliff.

    As someone who never played wow till legion, You have helped me understand a lot of this games history and details with your videos. Of all the youtube channels that cover WoW I like this one the most. You have a way of explaining things that make it easy to understand even stuff like complex raid weapons and lore. Please never stop uploading Madseason. You have made me even more of a WoW fan.

    My first memorable moment in WOW was when i played with a pal and we traveled all the way to Darkshore. Eventually we made our way into Ashenvale and we were both awe struck when we entered this epic forest with that epic Ashenvale music and how beautiful everything was. It was the first zone we explored 100% on our night elves and it is still my fav zone to this day.
    Much later, when TBC came out, my second WOW moment was when i entered Silvermoon City for the first time with my blood elf mage. I remember i did nothing else that day but explore the city for hours, talk to every NPC, find a cool place to sleep, take dozens of screenshots and just looking at the tall building like a peasant. O.o
    I will never forget it.

      Ex-husband's friend bought this game. The friend and his fiance stayed with us at the time. It seemed your typical MMO. The husband bought the game but he was playing a different zone from them and I looked over his shoulder and my mouth dropped. It was gorgeous and I couldn't stop with the beauty that I saw around him. The trees were twisted majestically. The buildings were arched and decorated with red and green gems and gold trim. There were spirals paths up to the upper floor of the buildings. The trees had shades of gold and rush in their leaves and looked like they had been touched by God. The race he played was so beautiful with their green eyes, pointed ears and golden hair. His BE hadn't gotten too far when I asked, can I play? We got me a battlechest and I started to play the week of Thanksgiving. We created a BE Pally and my BE WL and I got to explore Eversong and marvel at the dedication the developers put into the zone. THEN I arrived at SM and my jaw dropped. Oh wow. Recently one Wednesday when the servers for retail crashed across the board from an attack, I decided to do TBC Classic and created a BE Mage. Once again I was transported back to that time of wonder and enchantment right before I also remembered the bad side of "Squish!" I think I've died about 500 times or more getting to level 30, but I've enjoyed every minute of the rehashing of old memories. :)

    You got to do another of these.
    One of them being "Seeing a city for the first time".
    I had a friend who I introduced to WoW in 2005 and I remember we both rolled orcs and as soon as we got to Razor Hill he was like "wow this is s pretty big city". Then I showed him Ogrimmar telling him, "Thats not a city, this is". That moment where he was just awestruck. I had a similar experience as my first character was a Dwarf and seeing Ironforge for the first time was breathtaking, and thats just seeing the size of the gate before you enter:D

    • @madseasonshow
      @madseasonshow  7 років тому +42

      Definitely a memorable moment! Mine was in ironforge as well. I remember being awestruck by the weapon enchants in particular. The first thing I asked was how people got fire swords. That, the sheer amount of people, high level gear, the mounts - very memorable indeed. I'll add it in the list!

      Aye, I remember the first time I got to Stormwind and being hit by the music and the valley of heroes.
      Then lagging out because my PC was garbage.
      But that added to it in a way, like my surrounding were too impressive to properly take in.

      My experience was mediocore. I went to darnassus und the city looked pretty meh. But I wanted to go to Stormwind because my friend played a human, also I was sick of seeing this dark green all the fucking time.
      When I got to Ironforge I was pretty awestruck and then my computer broke down crying and I had to restart.
      I then didn't found my way in Stormwind + My computer all the time killed himself and after 3 Restarts I asked a player to show me where I get out.
      I also startet to bug my parents to get me a better computer :D

      Undercity was my first big city. I played an Undead Rogue when the game launched and I remember walking through the ruins of Lordaeron and thinking "Wow, this is awesome! This is where Arthas was!" I then found my way into the throne room and heard the whispers of the moment Arthas had killed his father and was totally geeking out. I thought to myself though "Well, not much of a city, but more of ruins.." then I found the elevator.... Boy was I in for a treat. As I walked out from that creepy elevator into the ooze filled crypt sewers beneath Lordaeron my eyes grew larger and larger as I explored the Undercity. I thought it was the coolest thing ever. I wanted to see Orgrimmar and Thunder Bluff right away after that lol. Same feeling and same experience when I did eventually make it there. When I played my first Alliance and walking through the gates of Stormwind with that awe inspiring music I got choked up and filled with amazement, such an awesome feeling. It really does kind of suck to know that I'll never really have that feeling again, but the memories are great . :)

    Fun fact: At the beginning of vanilla until around patch 1.10 ground mounts were actually a specialization. Example you had horse riding or ram riding and the training was 10 gold while the mounts were 100g for 40 and 1000g for 60. This is why at the beginning seeing a gnome on a horse was insane because you had to grind to exalted with Stormwind AND get 1000 gold just for a horse.

    My first, most memorable moment in WOW was on my first character my human Paladin. At some point in the early leveling of humans in Stormwind we are tasked with delivering supplies to Ironforge. Of course this is long before anyone would have a mount of any kind. So there I am, with a quest halfway across the continent from me, no mount and no real knowledge of the game. I venture out of Elwynn Forest for the first time and into Red Ridge Mountains. It was level appropriate so not that bad, but still challenging. It wasn't until I turned north and headed into the Burning Steppes that I realized something was very wrong.
    Of course every mob there was a "Skull" to me, 30 levels higher than I was. Everything one shot me, I was able to run and rez and make a little progress by avoiding mobs, but after a while I finally reached out to my only friend in the game to ask what I was doing wrong. Only then did I learn of the Tram. I felt foolish for not asking for help sooner. Luckily, for me, it must have been a slow day because my friend and a few of her guildies all swooped in to rescue me, turning on free loot, and murdering everything in my path as we finished the run up through Searing Gorge and into Dun Morogh. I finally made it to Iron forge, quite a lot richer and even made a few more friends and got in a guild. Interactions like that are what made the game amazing, and one of a kind. Now I just queue for a dungeon and never talk to anyone.

    • @JrClips27
      @JrClips27 6 років тому +3

      I can agree to this. For me it was my orc shaman getting into a gnomergan run. From orgrimmar to UC then run to Arathi through Wetlands then Loch Modan pass iron forge to just get to the dungeon. So amazing.

      and this story sounds alot like the 1st time I made a bloodelf and didn't know there was an orb in Silvermoon that teleported you to Undercity, the plaugelands is rough to a level 15 paladin. I really should have figured that wasn't the way that every bloodelf had to do it.

      Just started TBC Classic a few weeks ago. I had forgotten the walking required to do everything, and my mind had also forgotten there wasn't as many FPs as I thought in Eversong/Ghostlands! I would have SWORN Fairbreeze had a FP! I knew the Farstrider Square didn't have one but Fairbreeze I thought did! And I had forgotten the quests back/forth/back/forth. I hadn't forgotten the Ghostlands trolls though. Many many deaths occurred this time around because I didn't have my ex-husband's Pally as a guard/healer like 13 years ago! Then it was BE WL and this time it was Mage (portals/food) which I played for the first time in that time period. TBC is hardmode in the game I swear. Made me really appreciate the upgrades in retail and compare it to the classic version. Some for the better and some for the worse. Brill, Tauren Mill, Hillsbrad and Silverpine all were better back then--even with the massive walking and the deadly quests compared to today. I think the revamping of the models for buildings and the damned sludge fields made the zones look ugly and it breaks my heart to see them. Don't get me started on the damage done to the heart of Panderia by Garrosh! Ugly sha damage everywhere in one of the most gorgeous zones in the entire MMO world. Damn him.

    Also, just a memory of my own, just seeing the buildings from Warcraft 3 for the first time in WoW. Seeing the townhalls, ziggurats, barracks, farms, burrows, moonwells, all of that from my character's perspective blew me away. Here were these buildings, units, spells, that I had seen for so long from a birds eye view in a RTS now in front of me in a massive scale, that I could interact with, enter, and enjoy. It really was a magical time back then.

    I still remember the rush of getting my first mount at level 40 - I had painstakingly saved all my money through picking every herb in Azeroth. The wonderful experience of riding through Elwynn Forest back to Stormwind. I felt the wind through my hair! Glorious.

    I still remember when I first got to Stormwind..... And the music started playing. That's my most memorable moment of wow for me, even after 10 years of playing it was me being a total noob discovering the game for the first time that really sealed the deal for me.

    I remember the dark portal event on my server- I was level 52 and in Ironforge when Kruul showed his ugly mug, hurling volleys of Shadowbolts and killing everyone within range. One of the funniest things in trade chat that moment was when someone called out for the top Alliance guild at the time to save us all!

      you just walk sideways?

    • @archvaldor
      @archvaldor 7 років тому +3

      You can achieve that effect by simply hiding your UI using alt-z, going into walk mode, then strafing right or just walking right and moving your camera around. There used to be a program called free far sight which did this smoothly but it hasn't been updated. So you have to do this stuff manually in-game with your character and that's jerky and subject to latency, hence you get a cut every two seconds.
      I'd very much appreciate if Mad could explain how he gets his footage at some point perhaps in a future video, but I'm almost 100% that's what he's doing.

    Wow was such a fun time in the early years. I played for a bit in BC, but mainly played in vanilla. The first level 40 mount will always be one i remember, but besides that I found getting into places Blizzard didn't entail for most to get into was really fun. Hopping on a torch and jumping into a wall to get under Stormwind or getting into Hyrul before it was released and seeing that beautiful "This is under construction" sign will always be my most memorable moments.

    I was a Paladin back then, the most memorable moment for me was when I completed the quest for the 100% mount (the quest-line was more than 1kG, so no free mount there). I collected a group of friends and went to Scholomance for the last encounter. That was an epic battle, my party almost died (last man standing was a druid who was kind enough to battle-rez me), and I finally understood the system of seals.
    Oh, and that incident in Blackrock, when someone pulled both rooms before some minor boss. And when I tucked our priest to the wall when there was a wipe incoming in Stratholme.
    Miss you guys.

    I remember the Dark Portal event. I (human Paladin with Dungeon 2 set and the mace from battle grounds) didn't go through to a few days after though, severs were taking a beating. But when I did, I was exploring, and then I heard a giant robotic horn. A huge Fel Reaver was approaching. I moved out of the way, just in case, but was curious. Did this guy agro without being attacked, or did you need to attack to get it? A horde Taurn warrior in full epic PvP gear was not to far away and in the path of the Reaver. So, I sat and watched. Once I saw the cowburger meat, I knew not to mess with those!!

    Thanks for another great video. As usual most informative and entertaining.
    Although I would contest the comment about the Warlock and Paladin "free" mount. There were mats you had to either buy or farm. The quests took quite a while to even at level 40, much longer than grinding 100g. In fact both my paladin and warlock had both "normal" mounts before getting the "free" mount. I would speculate that the time/gold investment was equal when all things are considered.
    I would also submit that having all faction mounts were also very memorable. Running all the different factions to exalted was a long as very satisfying task.

    i remember getting my first mount. i was a lock, and it was AMAZING. left a big impression, ever since, I've always been a huge fan of mounts, and it's my favorite goal to set in the game. i got lucky with my 60 mount, it was during tbc and I had guildies run me through DM easily. it was less amazing to me. However, I eventually grinded in BGs in order to get the Black War Tiger. THAT was another huge moment! i LOOOOVE that mount so friggin much, easily the best mount. i felt like such a badass riding around with that mount. i wasn't even that good with pvp either, but it didn't matter.

    Lots of good ones. Can remember first time going through the portal and being awed by the huge portal on the other side, the demon battle happening.
    Playing a Warlock in Vanilla, and doing the epic mount quest was fun, something I helped many other Warlocks complete, since the items could be re-used.
    40-person raiding was ridiculous, not sure how we got that many people to co-ordinate and show up (oh wait, someone was always AFK)
