I’ve been on a big BB kick lately. I love the post Pet Sounds albums including Friends. Now I need to check out Can.
Keep going with the Beach Boys album Larry! There is some great ones after Friends. Sunflower, Surf's Up, Carl and The Passions, Holland and Love You.
Those King Gizzard CDs look great, love when they go for a 'retro' look. And I'm glad Friends-20/20 is still on the mind! I love playing that CD whenever I'm indecisive about how long I'll be in the mood to sit and listen to music. Friends goes by in a breeze, so if I'm hungry for more I can just leave the disc in and let 20/20 do its thing haha
Hi Larry - nice show today, thanks for your presentation. Loved the Beach Boys around the Surfs Up and Holland era. Still listen to Surfs Up regularly. i still enjoy older Uriah Heep and would say that Look At Yourself along with Demons and Wizards are my faves.

I must say. I bought the 45th Anniversary edition of No. 1 In Heaven. Very well-presented package for an excellent album!
I've always liked Uriah Heep, but for years the only album I had by them was their Best Of album (on vinyl). I ended up getting a career overview compilation CD called The Definitive Collection. A friend sent me a homemade Sparks compilation CD (shhh, don't tell the FBI...or Sparks, for that matter) with 20 tracks on it including "Wonder Girl", "Suzie Safety", "Propaganda", "I Predict ", "This Town Ain't Big Enough...", etc. I have to admit that I didn't care for them the first time I heard them, but their music really grew on me. As for your live chats, I may not make all of them but I will be there for as many as I can.
Didn’t know about the drop out in the earlier No. 1 in Heaven. Or that Freedom Suite was a double LP with a ‘jam’ album for the second record. Very very glad to hear good news about Mittens.
I'll be ordering #1 in Heaven as soon as I can. I have ordered two new Sparks albums from Amazon! I'll be doing a review of Can 'Future Days' and I'll mention which Sparks I've ordered.

1.Can 2.Saw Delight 3.Flow Motion 4.Out of Reach 5. Rite Time - BUT after getting the first 3 i mention GET "The Lost Tapes" - It contains stuff just as good as on the LPs (TOns of Mooney songs on it !!!) AND "Unlimited Edition" (Which also is outtakes, just as good as others!!!!) Happy hunting !

For me Saw Delight is among the classic Can albums even if everyone else may disagree with me ha ha. I've heard a lot of praise for that album so I know I'm not the only one who like that album. But many also do not have much appreaciation for it. We all hear differently.
The main thing stopping me from getting Rite Time is the frightening album cover.
I like Flow Motion but it's not one I would recommend. The best thing about it is the album cover.
Out Of Reach I just can't get into. Maybe it would be different if I had it on CD because often you get a better impression from CD than on the internet. But I doubt I will ever buy it unless I by accident come across it in a physical store for a low price, but I still don't think I will play it much if at all. But that doesn't mean other people won't appreaciate it. Every album has their fans.

I think you're right Larry, as much as Pet Sounds is a God Tier album once you "hear" friends and the vibe grabs you it just might be a notch above Pet Sounds. It's a wonderful album.

That's awesome. If you love that song, you should love the whole album, although it might take a couple of listens.

There's not much worth listening to from Can left... "Rite Time" is...ok but nothing memorable... I never liked "Out of Reach", I just bought it to complete their studio albums. The only song that I kind of stand out is "November". "Animal Waves" from "Saw Delight" is one of my favorite Can songs. Self titled Can (a.k.a. "Inner Space") and "Flow Motion" have their moments but the magic is gone...
I feel Pet Sounds is overrated,a couple of great songs and innovative production but that's it for me and the Rascals are underrated,a great pop band with soul. Bob
