Hey man, Dev here. Thanks so much for the video. They always manage to put a smile on my face and lessen the usual feeling of imposter syndrome by a lot! Cheers!
while you made the game, my experience with it is entirely mine, and that's why i had 8 whole minutes of video to fill. maybe it didn't look like much when y'all were messing with the engine but from my end it took me 90 hours before i finished chapter 14 and they were all amazing. good luck with alabaster and thanks for the comment
As someone who has played MMOs since the year 2000 (yikes...), I was pleasantly surprised at how much this game captured the feel of an MMO. It's clear the devs have a lot of love for both MMOs and action JRPGs. During the sections outside of the meta narrative, I really got the sense I was just questing with my friends. Love this game. I slept on it for a long time and I'm finally playing it now.
I love watching videos of people talking about Crosscode with the same excitement it gave me while playing it, it's just THAT good and I was more people were willing to play it
I loved how fresh and engaging the combat is and how seamlessly it integrates with the puzzle element of the gameplay. And honestly following Lea as she finds friends in the game is so heartwarming. I think modern media has gotten unfairly sour on friendship stories but CrossCode proves pretty well how great they can be when they're done even just competently. I don't think CrossCode is a masterpiece for the ages, but it is a competently made game that is fun, original and made with heart, and that's what we need more of.
I played Crosscode for the first time this year after my brother recommended it to me and as someone who tended to only play live-service multiplayer games until recently, I was surprised by just how much I love this game. Every single part of it feels so polished and satisfying (apart from the ice as you mentioned haha), I think it'll forever be my favourite game of all time Amazing video! Very funny and it's awesome to see just how much others enjoyed this masterpiece
I do think the game kind of pushes you to grind, but as you say, it's all for optional stuff. You can get by just using the bog standard money-purchased equipment, sure, but it's too enticing to have all this constant parade of great weapons and armor you need to trade items for - items largely only procurable through exploring, killing enemies and smashing plants and trying to find those good vantages to farm the rare plants especially. And then the game is pushing you to do this in basically every new area. Then also, as you say, the devs clearly understood this and found a way to make grinding more rewarding and enjoyable than in your typical RPG. Which is really what Crosscode is so amazing at - everything is SO WELL THOUGHT THROUGH. Every aspect of the game was given attention and balancing and playtesting to ensure that the game has as few weaknesses as possible. It's just incredibly well rounded and high quality in basically every facet.
Crosscode modder here, althougg it was vert brief thank you for referancing modded content even in the slightest we have some very dedicated people here but it is often missed
i didn't want to stray off too much in a video talking to people who've never heard of crosscode before, but the mods y'all make are so incredibly cool
The only game I bought twice so far, on GOG and then on Steam. Mostly because it was 50% off on GOG and when I was done it was 50% off on Steam, but it deserved the full price. Also because the GOG version didn't have achievements. :D Fortunately the in-game achievements actually carried over so I didn't have to work on everything all over again and could do a chill new game+ with the in-game cheats, much to Apollo's frustration. :P
So, i had an issue with crosscode. I enjoyed the intro and everything then for some reason i you go to a high fantasy medieval zone, away from the high tech futuristic settings and for some reason the game lost me at that point
@@TiaKatt there is a code they added for april fools that adds "high quality voice acting" where the main characters have super campy callouts and stuff. In it, Lea's name is pronounced like Lee-ah with two syllables, and it also just rolls off the tongue better imo, so I'll always prefer that pronunciation. I feel like i rememebr seeing a develper talk and say that either way can be correct and there isn't a canon pronunciation, though.

Liked the worldbuilding, the Charakters, the Combat but the amount of puzzelplatforming made me quit after 15hrs
Making a CrossCode video is like lighting a flare in the algorithmic forest. Always happy to see more love thrown its way.
Finished 100%ing Crosscode last week. Very good but very difficult game! Ended up getting help from a friend for the Peace of Mind achievement >>;
I sleep, eat, drink thinking about this game.
I'm playing it for the first time now and I'm simply in love!
i have yet to play this - but i bought it just to help out. the devs deserve it.
Have you played it yet?
Certified Hi!Lea! moment.
Also the music is incredible.

Favorite indie game? This is my favorite game of ALL TIME 😊
Someone talking about crosscode? Sign me in
Thank you for shouting out croscode
Great video dude, well done on the editing. There is kinda a war on how to pronounce Lea's name so that 's pretty funny.
watching this at 0.25 speed to boost the retention rate🔥🔥🔥
We makin it out of the Raritan Gem with this one 🔥
That thumbnail is nostalgic af
Nice video, definitely a good intro
Watching it just now.
Dude you're amazing, this video is amazing, kinda makes me want to play the game. (I won't)
smh my ass
Play it, pwease
So, i had an issue with crosscode. I enjoyed the intro and everything then for some reason i you go to a high fantasy medieval zone, away from the high tech futuristic settings and for some reason the game lost me at that point
You have to be confusing this game with something else entirely. There is genuinely no area in the game which is 'high fantasy' or 'medieval' at all.
Lea, not Lee...
its like pea but with an L
My brain always wants to pronounce it "Leah" as well, but I think it *is* intended to be pronounced "Lee" for this character.
@@TiaKatt there is a code they added for april fools that adds "high quality voice acting" where the main characters have super campy callouts and stuff. @@AshEshyr It's either 'lay-uh' or 'lee-uh'. 'Lee' is simply incorrect. lol
