Its been awhile since i made a subwoofer box, and carpeting one. its my first time vinyling. My cousin got a skar zvx-8 and built his own box, he basically pushed me to do the same and i got the sundown x8 v.3.
I built this box a few hours a day for about a week. i tried to take my time but with two kids i cant just live in the garage like i want to. I will try to make a video when its all hooked up and playing in my truck.

That’s my favorite way to do the speaker terminals on the box. Strong as hell and looks good. Thanks for showing people how to do it. 🤘🏼

Awesome build ! I always paint the inside of my enclosures too. I don't think people realize how porous MDF is.... I've heard that it can make a more than 1db difference... It would make no sense to me to go through all kinds of trouble to prevent a box from flexing even a tiny bit, but then to allow air to literally suck straight in and out of the MDF itself.
You have some serious skills. One of the finest boxes I've ever seen anyone create, including "Pro" manufacturers. Beautiful build.

for real i built my last box, enclosed, with a reciprocating saw and a circular saw. way harder to do a good job even when compared to the more complex box in this vid.

Not sure if that was stretch vinyl you used but if it was not you should check it out. It’s very forgiving and it makes it easy to wrap stuff without any mistakes. Anyway enough about that and congrats on the sick ass box! Very nice work!
It was stretch vinyl, it was just my first time actually wrapping something using vinyl and I didn’t account for the tight corners and/or rookie mistakes. But I have a ton of vinyl left over and I’m ready to practice some more.
No hate it looked great just trying to pass on a little knowledge so it can be used by people like you who have talent. Put that extra vinyl to some good use! Can’t wait to see the video!

The box look good but what it sound like? Looks like the sub needs more air space...all that extra stuff on the inside killing the cubes lol
The bracing was factored in. It sounded way louder and better than I thought it would. It likes to play low. I already have part 2 on my channel if you want to see it move.
Bet you wished you used something other than vinyl after seeing it wrinkle and lift in the corners like that. But I guess that's how you learn what materials work best with each application.

That's very nice. But why paint the inside, I thought you were gonna use plexi or something?
.... Probably so when and if you look inside, it doesn't look like wood/unfinished... and looks nice... not just on the outside
