Hi. I have a 2013 gli manual with the HID headlights. I saw that you also installed the k&n cold air intake how did you get that little hose to go into the side of the cold air intake pipe?
Good question, the intake kit cane with a metal spout where the hose slipped onto. They don’t auto level but they have manual settings. They’ve been even for me since I bought them

I have a question do the headlight give a much better beam since you moved from halogen to bixeno and can you do a video.

Change drl wire position in harness. Fairly easy but you need to know which wire to change
Did you have any issues with any flickering & any codes on the dash? I have a 2017 passat I got an HID kit with the canbus ballast. Did you use a canbus with the Kensun HID?

Just got my 2017 jetta... purchased the bi xenon headlights and the wiring harness.The vender told me it was just plug n play cause my harness were already programmed. Did you have to do any programming with vagcom or was your set up plug n play??
Also on these jettas is there a need to take of the front bumper for install?? or is there no need??

Nice! Welcome to the Vdub family. I did not have to do any programming either. All plug and play also.
I have seen other people remove the front bumper to replace the headlights but I decided against that myself. I just push the headlight toward the engine bay and pulled up of the bumper lip and that worked for me. So the only thing that you have to remove is the grille.

+Auus Worrior yep, I didn't realize that I needed it until after I had issues. It was super cheap plug and play also. I put it in the description if you need it.

Yes they’ll fit. However you’ll need new D2S bulbs

For the Hid kensun conversion kit, I'm not sure which size in the options and color to choose from. I know I just want a bright white color. Any tips? The canceller seems to be sold out on amazon but I think I can find a pair on eBay.
Hey, thanks for watching! I really like them and they seem to be holding up well. I noticed that the DRLs only come on when the headlights are on but Im sure that's just a setting that im too lazy to find. The headlights that I bought require D2S bulbs. I got the 6000K bulb but notice that they are slightly bluer than the DRLs, so I think a 5000k would be a better match. Im sure any canceller would work but I like how simple mine was to install.
Biggest tip for you... make sure you have all the parts/tools ready before starting. Then you wont have to do it twice, like i did haha #ForgotTheBallast

+DeeBoyy 16 HECK YA THEY DO! I couldn't see anything with the factory halogen headlights. These headlights are awesome! No issues in nearly a year of owning them. You do have to do a simple wiring job so the LED running lights work as DRL. I haven't done it yet but it seems simple. Also, I have a plug and plug antiflicker/warning canceller connected because they were flickering after the install. All good now 👌

Hey, do those DRL come on as DRLs or do they turn on only when headlights are turned on or they turn on as parking lights ?
For some reason the wiring for each Jetta is different. I know a ton of people who bought them and they worked as DRL’s. However, some people like me weren’t as fortunate. If that’s the case you need to repin the headlight harness so the drls line up. To this date I haven’t been motivated enough to do it. I’ve watched vids about it. Seems simple but just didn’t matter enough I guess. Hope this helps.

Frankie, I'm a big fan of yours. Question about the Headlights. Does the assembly itself (400 bucks) require anti warning adaptations? Or does it run error free with normal halogen bulbs? I understand the HID kit requires anti flicker and anti error stuff, but the headlight itself should be fine, correct? Do you feel the set to be of good quality? Have you had any issues yet?
When I installed the headlights I only used the bulbs/ballasts. However, a few days later my headlights were acting weird and then I got a bulb out warning on my dash. If you're gonna spend the money on the lights, I suggest getting the anti-flicker warning canceller too.
Overall, I haven't had any issues with them. The DRL's only light up when the headlights are on. I've been meaning to contact the seller and ask about that but I haven't had time. Other than that, they are AWESOME! I get compliments all the time.

Gotcha! That might be a simple setting on your VAGcom tbh. I currently own usp's HID kit and it comes with anti flicker built in. What’s the trick to get them to align perfectly with the quarter panel, bumper, and grill. Messed with mine for 2 hours and still not flush with the lines no matter how many adjustments I did to the mounting hardware
No such thing as perfect lol. I tried forever too and then realized that my OEM headlights weren’t perfect either

+Francisco Baez dude, I think my car looks sick with the new lights. I don't regret it at all. You need ballast, bulbs, and anti-flicker kit. You can find all of that on amazon for around $90.

Hey man! Just installed the headlights and they look awesome! But after a while there's a lightning sign in the gauge like if i had a lighting problem or missing a light, did you have the same problem?

How are they holding up Just bought a 2013 Jetta SE and this is the first mod I want to do as I love the factory HID's on my MK6 GTI and how well they perform/light up the road. Do they sell any other styles (Non Black)
They’re still running strong. In this vid I used Bixenon bulbs. They’re really bright and light up the road well. I didn’t like all of the wires so now I have LED bulbs. I did an updated vid for that too. Also, I never seen any other U style headlights for jetta but I always get compliments for these.
With the LED 's was it just as simple as changing the bulbs and if so did you get any bulb out error light on the dash, I put LED's in the reverse lights and I got a bulb out light on the dash. BTW the link for the HID kit doesn't work, Can you fix it?
Ya, it was easy plug and play. I did a vid on the LED's too. I did not get errors but other people told me that they did. Just pick up a $7 warning canceller and you'll be good. Also, the links should be working now.
Will these headlights work for the facelift sedan? I’ve heard they won’t because they changed the headlight shape/angles when they went to the mk6.5
Fits all 2011-2018. They did t change headlight shape they changed bumper shape. Weird I know
@@Frankiegisme I’ve really considered getting some of these. I’ve heard more horror stories than good thinks about them though lol.. moisture issues, the U’s not being bright at all, and the manufacture says they weren’t designed for led or hid. How are yours holding up?
The U’s could be brighter. Had them for about 3 years. There are no other headlights I would buy. These or factory. VW should’ve offered GLI with GTI headlights and these are most similar.

+Lilia Zavala I’m 99% sure your headlights are the same as mine. VW stuck with the MK6 platform for 2017. The next time you go somewhere try to park near an older mk6 jetta and try to look for differences in the shape. Since I don’t think there is any, I’m sure you can buy any mk6 jetta headlights.

hey frankie, did you ever fix the drl issue? if so, how did you fix it? also do those helix headlight assembly have high beams because i only see one projector lamp?
I never did. I heard all you have to do is switch a pin. They have low and high beam in the same projector. You just have to make sure the bulbs you get do both. The xenon bulbs I got in this vid are bixenon so they do high and low beam. The LED bulbs I have now also do both.

+Smr Tnvr tough call man. I haven't worked on that car before. I don't think you have to because the dealers usually make them easy to get serviced

I tried putting an hid kit but for a reason one of the ligths looked more blue and other more bright .and I kept swaping the kit but nothing would change..do both ur hid ligths look the same color?and also would these headlights fit my mk6 jetta 2.5?
Jesus Juarez did you also install a anti-flicker kit? Mk6 Jetta's have a computer that test voltage that goes to the headlights. This may be creating the color difference. Mine are the same on both sides. And yes, the headlights I got will all sedan model mk6 jetta's

I now run D2S style LED bulbs from Lasfit. They’re a lot better than the HID bulbs I used to have. If you do a search on amazon you’ll find them.
Hey man, stupid question. So you obviously cannot use the original halogen/led bulbs with these, correct? You must buy hid’s? I just bought these without doing enough research because I thought you could just throw them on using existing the bulbs.
You don’t need HID you just need D2S bulbs. At the moment I have LEDs.

Haha that exactly how I felt and also why I bought them 😂 I had an error but then got a inexpensive warning canceller that makes them work properly. Now I run LED bulbs from lastfit that don’t cause any errors on my car.

+Sean Averett I'm sure any car shop would do the install. To be honest, they were really easy to install. I recommend doing the install yourself. I'm sure shops would charge an arm and a leg.

Question. Are the ballast only required for bixenon bulbs? Not required for the halogen h7 bulbs. I want to buy those headlamp housings, but I want to know if the ballasts are required.
These are aftermarket headlights that use D2S bulbs. The ballasts are only required for BiXenon bulbs. You can use any other D2S bulb without a ballast. For example, I used to have D2S LED bulbs that do not need a ballast.

They’re kinda weird but the only bulbs that work with these headlights.

These are my favorite jetta headlights. Unfortunately they only come with D2S connections. You can easily find bulbs for them on Amazon doing a quick search for D2S. You only need a ballast if you get BiXenon. Halogen and LED bulbs do not require a ballast.
How are the turning signals on the headlights? Really want to get these.
+Charlie Elizondo They're pretty cool. I like where they're located. At first I was iffy about it since you can't see them from the side but I don't think it's necessary since the mirrors have signals.

sorry if uve already answered this question but... I bought the lights several months back but never installed them on my '11 jetta(huge procrastinator LOL). I bought the same hid kit (except i went with the 5000k cuz the cops around here where i live are A$$holes about the "blueish tint")from the link in ur vid and the anti flicker kit. where u able to retain the hi/low beams? I noticed that the bulbs don't move in and out like bi-xenon bulbs do. Do the headlamps do the "in/out" function to make the hi/low work like the bi-xenon bulbs wld do or is there something I'm missing? I need for these to be BRIGHT as I live in the woods and have tons of wildlife running around. Already nailed 2 different deer, 2 separate occasions and had the car in the shop twice to repair the entire front end. I keep getting pulled over cuz I run some cree led fog lights (which are illegal for on road use). I'm just tired of the cops an I'm trying to fly under the radar. not be a target. lol. any help wld be greatly appreciated. I also got a set of stock look projector fog light with 100w yellow 9006 cree leds for them..
+travis merriman Thanks for watching my vid. I'm glad I could help you find some new headlights. If you got the same setup as me, then they are bi-xenon. I have both low/high beam that work normally. Also, after I bought the 6000k I realized I should've got the 5000k because the LEDs are 5000k. Would've matched better. I say install the lights and try it out. +Skyler Morgan They are Helix headlights. The GTI headlights are very similar but different. I bought these on eBay. Just do a Google search for Helix headlights, I'm sure you'll find them. Thanks for watching 👍

yes, its only the left light, right one works fine. Probably just a cheap stock bulb, gonna switch them and see if the left is still out or if its just the bulb

The Kensun ballast that I purchased is no longer available. It’s also no longer installed. I use LED bulbs now. Much cleaner under the hood.

Hey man, I bought these exact same headlights and had a shop install them. Right now the headlights are very inconsistent like the daytime light does not turn on unless I turn on the night time lights. And some of the leds don't turn on sometimes. I also installed taillights and it's the same deal. I did not buy a cancellor though (the shop never told me I needed one while installing it) but all I got where the headlights and an hid conversion kit, please help!!???
Sameer Mourad I have a canceller for mine. But if I were you I would call the seller and ask them about that. They might have given you a faulty unit
FrankieGisMe man the shop told me they'll re-look at it but there could be faulty parts. I bought it off UROTuning.com. Do u think I should tell them I got a shop to install them and they said something's faulty or should I tell them I tried to install it and it's not working properly

Husam 18 they work only when the headlights are on. They didn't come with bulbs or ballast so I sought that separate from amazon. I it the links to what I got in the description.

How have they held up??
I’d give them an A- lol. Only issue has been the protective uv film came off. It was my fault because I got too aggressive with the pressure washer. That was about 2 years ago and they’re still clear no yellowing. The seller said I could find that film on amazon but haven’t looked.

Are you taking about the horn? Lol. If you are you might be able to that with a OBD2 programmer like OBDeleven. Not sure if that’s one of the things you can customize but those are your best bet.

The headlights on 2017 look the same as the previous models. Im pretty sure they would still fit.

+abdou oran i have heard that it's as easy as replacing a wire on the 10 pin harness on the car side. I haven't done it yet but I will soon have a vid for that. Supposedly the blue wire in the fourth position to the first position.

That’s dumb. Find out what their return policy is, If it’s decent then I recommend buying them. If they don’t fit return them.

i got the same GLI MK6.. same color but stock as fuck tho bahaha; these lights looks amazing ! the interior seating is a little stiff and sticky when hot (here in SoCal),, my shirts get all sweaty in the back even with AC but looks so great.. give and take i suppose =)

+JuggFinesse I don't think LED bulbs require a ballast so it should be the same as replacing the OEM bulbs

Nice! Your car is definitely quicker than mine haha. I listened to so many exhaust systems online that im still not sure which one I want but it'll most likely be a resonated turbo back system.
On the original headlights I used Lamin-x film to tint them. I like that film because it also protects from rock chips.
What are you doing next to your GLI?
Well in addition to the tune I also have a full set of Megan racing coilovers on the way which should stiffen up the ride a bit. Also they are fully adjustable so I'm going to lower the front about an inch and the rear an inch and a half. Think the only other things after that will be water methanol injection to get me as close to 300HP and 360TQ lastl thing I want to get some different rims thinking about 18" TSW Max Hyper Silver
+Logan Gamble I want to lower mine so bad but I don't want the inconvenience. My solution is dampening air suspension.unfortunately, it's not cheap. I'm gonna save most performance stuff for last. I'm going more for a stanced look.
