    GUYS IF YOU HAPPEN TO PLUG THE POSITIVE & NEGATIVE MALE FIXTURES IN THE WRONG SLOTS THE FUSES WILL BLOW, ITS GOING TO BE FUSE #18 FOR THE LEFT LOW BEAM AND FUSE #38 FOR THE RIGHT LOW BEAM, IT TOOK A BIT OF RESEARCH BUT I FINALLY FIGURED IT OUT

    Thank you this helped tremendously. VW Tiguan 2018-2019 has the same system, the cap is rubber that’s the difference. Also you gotta bend the prongs on the metal thing a little inwards and the bulb will click into place no problems.

    Great tutorial! Although I was nervous the entire video that you were going to accidentally touch the HID glass with your hand or fingers lol I would use rubber gloves. But great video non the less. I'm officially subscribing. I'm prepping myself to install 8000k's on my VW CC. Can't wait!

    good job overall.the way I do is to remove the headlights from the car open them and insert projector lenses then put the hid in the projector lense. the result will be amazing no blinding oncoming traffic,and as long as you choose sensible color for your bulbs you won't have any unwanted pullover by the police.

    Hi i have an 07 Jetta and pretty much everything you did to connect i did for high beam bulbs because the positive/negative wire harness can only connect to the bulb connector on my high beams connector. I don't have the little black connector from my low beat socket only coming from the high connector housing. The problem is I'm only getting a flickering when i turn the car on. The bulbs do not remain on or come on at all. Do you have an idea what it can possibly? I try flipping the connectors from the ballast to the bulb wire over also tried switching the positive/negative wires on different sides of the connector. Like you mention the connector doesn't really specify which side is positive or negative but i tried both and nothing coming on. Please if you can share any suggestions I would def appreciate you. Sorry for this long paragraph..Thanks !!

    Can you guys make a video showing the hid kit on, so that we can see the beam? Would like to know if the beam is focused or scattered in a headlight housing designed for halogen bulbs, and also if I would need to adjust my headlights down a bit to compensate for the hid kit brightness? Thanks in advance!

    I was so excited to add a HID kit to the 2012 VW CC Redline I just bought as I had done all the other cars I own. But to My disappointment, not only did the Bulbs only stay on a few minutes before turning off. Also threw codes on the car and a dash light as well. Had to take to dealer to remove the damn codes. Apparently you cannot convert a CC without throwing codes and dash lights. Starting to regret My decision to buy this car already.

    • @jeffh4892
      @jeffh4892 7 років тому +2

      I think you just need a load resistor installed before the ballast to prevent the bulb out light. Or try Deautokey H7RC HID kit which supposedly is guaranteed to be error free.

    • @Rampage00769
      @Rampage00769 7 років тому

      Yeah I ordered a harness from HID nation that had the resistors installed in the harness. It did get them working, but there were still some issues, like sometimes they would not turn off. I had to take the fuse out to get them to go off. Finally just put back to stock. Too much aggravation. Only car I've ever had a problem with installing HID set.

    Question I have a 2015 VW Mk6 Jetta with a 35w HID kit. When I installed the Hid the warning light bulb notice pop up on the dashboard. I called a local VW dealership & they stated to me that the bulb light warning would stay and to keep my halogen bulbs instead. Bigger question is what should I do? & would a relay harness help or not? p.s the bulbs did go out one night when driving. Shut my lights off, turned back on and then worked.

    • @Churboiismiley
      @Churboiismiley 8 років тому

      Get a warning capacitor adaptor. They sell them on Amazon. It cleared out the warning light on my dash. VW won't give a solution to that as they don't support HID converters under their agreement. They'll tell you to stick to stock lights.
      Anyways get the capacitor, it works. It's all plug-and-play and it works fine on my VW CC.

    • @japplewhite1986

    Awesome video ruined by another HID install in a car not designed for them. The housing for HID and Led are projector lens so they can offer safe beam output properly without blinding oncoming traffic and getting a safety inspection ticket for tampering with your headlights a no no in most every state in America. The proper method is to use a bulb specifically designed for the reflective housing, retrofit in a projector lens or buy aftermarket glass projector headlights and throw anything you want in there.

      +adioskater556 It is realllly hard on the drivers side, there is just no room, I am driving around with a halogen in the drivers side an HID in the passengers side until I can get a heater to heat my garage so I can remove the entire headlight assembly, it sucks, it is just way too tight to put the light in there, the clip (why the hell do they even have a clip ahhh it's annoying) does not fit very well onto the HID bulb and trying to turn it in that little area is pretty much impossible, my friends and I both tried doing it.

    • @rly_media
      @rly_media 8 років тому

      I actually had to take off my whole front bumper off and remove my headlights for me to get this. Inside the bulb housing, there are two screws which the side clamps of the bulb fit underneath for it to stay in there. I just had to loosen those screws and tighten it back up when those side clamps were underneath. I'd recommend having at least one person to help you out with this. It made it easier for me.

    • @rich7312
      @rich7312 8 років тому

      +adioskater556 I couldn't do it either, so I removed the wheel and fender well. It is just a handful of Torx body screws, and then you're looking right at the back of the headlight housing with all the room you need. 2013 Jetta GLI

      I too had a heck of a time trying to put the HID bulb back on the driver's side housing. Note: I originally purchased a kit that comes with bulbs that have plastic base (ring). Those will not work because the plastic is too thick - the stock lights have the thin metal base (ring). That said, even with the thin metal base of the light bulb, it was still hard to get it back on. After several frustrating failed attempts and fingers starting to hurt, I used the pliers to bend the metal "wings" of the clip (reused from the Jetta) slightly upward towards the base (ring) of the bulb. By doing that, the wings on the clip will catch the housing more easily. To give me a little more room to work with on the driver's side, I took off the fuse box cover directly in front of it for easier access. Fortunately, I don't have to go to extreme measures to take off the head unit by taking off the bumper.
