Following you for a year and today I just watched this and was shocked to discover I still do two things I shouldn't. I twist and bend to pick up the dog and I twist to put and remove packages from the front seat of the car. Thanks for the reminder.
Thanks for these tips - including some I hadn't thought of! I definitely hurt my back doing a crunch with a twist. Another movement to be cautious with is shoveling soil or mulch - a triple 'whammy' of load, flexion and twist.
Such great, and easy, tips!! Thank you!! When I get into the car, I have been putting my purse, phone, jacket, and anything else in the back seat behind me, before I get it. If I put it all on the seat next to me, and I am in shopping mode, or rush mode, I forget and just reach over and get what I need, because it's right there. Ooops!! So the back seat works best for me. :-)
Great information. I realized that I rotate my body too much and lazy to do extra steps to protect my spine. This is my motto of 2025: mindful to protect my spine! Thank you!❤
What is the safest way to get into the car. Sitting ;then turning hips so legs stay together or lead with one leg, then the other. Hope this makes sense. I have osteoporosis in my spine and hips. Thank you again for your videos. I have been following and doing the 52 week series.
I've fractured half my back trying to get strong again. Thanks for helping all of us. I am in PT and also told him all about you.
Excellent reminders Lisa. Thank you so much for all the research you do and for succinctly passing it on to us. Let's go! 👏
My pleasure!
Thank you are the detailed instruction. Another great video.
Thank you, love showing what we shouldn’t and then what we should do ❤️

This is a very helpful video; I sadly reach across to get my gym bag out of the car automatically all the time - I won't do that anymore. Thank you!!!

Thank you, Dr Lisa. Very informative. I do forward fold from seated to put shoes on. Is that ok?
