Another year is almost done, which means that an updated look at the animal room is due. It took a while to make this happen, so I hope the wait was worth it! Can't wait to show you all some of the other things I'm working on. You won't want to miss them! Also, the 150 Cube is already well under way - going to be EPIC! As for the 75 gallon tank, what should I do? Let me know!
@@Zer-db1bp I think I have a phobia for reptiles and other amphibians lol but I really enjoy watching these setups and would love to make one. Any suggestions on how to get over it and start?
@@travis_saldanha i know it’s an old comment, but I would recommend watching Snake Discovery’s channel, it definitely helped with my fear of reptiles !
I'm not into fish but I can honestly say that if I ever managed to visit a room like this, I could spend hours just watching each scape and see the fish swim around. Honestly, these scapes look so realistic I feel like I'd be watching them in their real habitat. Great update. Was late to watch this but happy to finally have time to see it.
What most impresses me with Tanner's room is the attention to detail, especially in the supporting equipment like the stands. So many "animal rooms" will create stunning enclosures and then skimp on everything surrounding them, it's like taking a beautiful painting and then using thumb tacks to put it on your wall. Would love to see a video on how to build a rack like the one you made for your 75 gallon aquariums.
Christmas came early! tanner I think every single person in the hobby is jealous how clean and organized and professional your animal room looks, especially since it is all diy
This is amazing. I’ve been working with animals for over 17 years and can’t wait to get to this standard of knowledge and ability to provide these enclosures
Wow. Never heard anyone so in touch with respecting every level of the food chain. Kept reptiles for years. Thought i had empathy until i saw this. Respect!
I'm honestly glad you did this tour. I'm, of course, amazed by the way it looks like most folk I'm sure, but not just that. This video inspired me and many of my builds; a 200G heavily-planted paludarium for 3 goldfish and 2 weather loaches, heavily-planted 100G with green tiger barbs and columbian tetras, my heavily-planted 40G with black phantom tetras, zebra loaches and corydoras, my 60G vivarium for my beloved fowler's toad rescued at 3 months old, Kiwi, my 15G blackwater filled with twigs, leaf litter and seed pods for my super red veiltail betta, Val, and I've even built a DIY 9×18×9" aquarium for my blind dumbo betta girl. Hopefully my enclosures end up as stunning like yours :)
What an incredible setup, the design of everything is so on-point, from the scaping in each tank to the furniture they are housed in, which is remarkable because I know from watching your videos for years that aesthetics can only ever come second, the number one concern is the welfare of the animals! After seeing so many videos from you, its nice to see a tour like this to have a sense of the current set-up IRL, because in a way your youtube channel is like, the eternal, infinite animal room with every project youve ever done, even if they`ve since been dismantled or repurposed. Great stuff, as always! (100% worth waiting an extra day for this video, that must have been SO much work!)
Phenomenal! Thoroughly enjoyed listening to an articulate, passionate individual who obviously has so much knowledge after years of research, Thank you for sharing.
Your attention to detail is intense! I love how aesthetically pleasing the whole room is. You have a full vision of what you want and your crushing it. Happy new year friends!
This is absolutely amazing!! The care and love you put forth for your animals is so evident in just the sheer work you put in to make them feel comfortable in their environments! Watching your videos always makes me super happy because I know that all the animals you keep are getting the utmost care, respect, and love they deserve. One of my favorite UA-camrs and some of my favorite videos to watch and relax to!!
So much respect for your entire setup! And the level of detail you got to go in was just so nice to watch. I love that you get to do and enjoy something that I can also relate to so much. Each little creature and plant in any setup has so much detail that I love to just watch in amazement. I finally started to go the more bioactive route a few years ago after watching you!
Tanner, thank you for speaking out about long fin bettas. I recently lost one again as well and also decided to no longer buy them. Its just not fair for the fish and I'm glad you, with a big audience, speaks out about it. You were one of the inspirations for me to really get into aquariums, to the point where I own a few more "complicated" fish now. Keep up the great work! :)
As long as your set up accommodates for long fin fish (no rough surfaces and a slow water flow) then the fish should be just fine. But I draw the line at fish like bubble eye goldfish. The mutations on them are just cruel.
I agree. Before getting my betta I looked into articles about what gender/type of betta to chose and I don't remember any of them mentioning how much they can struggle. Now I have a double tail male and comparing him to females I see on the internet just makes me sad.
I discovered last year that I'm just too much of a novice for long fin bettas. It's easier for me to maintain a tank with a little bit of current, and it just doesn't do for a long fin betta. Obviously I'm not putting any bettas in stream tanks, but if a betta is stressed by the flow provided by a baffled HOB filter, it just doesn't seem right to keep one.
@@seasnailsplatoon762 I recommend putting a betta in at least a 10 gallon heavily planted aquarium. The larger aquarium will make the water parameters more stable and the plants will reduce algae, while removing toxins from the water.
@@rosestar7078 Wish I'd have learned as much before getting Little Tanner. I built an undergravel filter with biowheel return & heavily planted 60 gal, but--algea really knocked it all out. What an amazing room! I can’t wait to get an aquarium up and running in my house. As for that empty tank, it would be interesting to see you stretch your comfort zone with a more desert tank. Succulents/cacti, maybe a horny toad or something like that.

i was enjoying your tour alot. I love your focus on meeting the animal requirements with natural feelin habitats. thank you and greetings from germany.
I’ve been looking so forward to this video! I love how the animal room has evolved over the years to the ambitious, complex builds and set-ups, to the simple ones- they all come together so perfectly!
I know it’s not nearly as “Natural” as some of the other tanks, but I really love the look of the ghost ship tank, even with the simplicity, it still really jumps out at you, and I also think how crystal clear the water is also really helps to make it stand out! Plus the fact that you just MADE the ship, out of safe random materials, really shows how creative and skilled you are when it comes to building and designing these tanks. Absolutely beautiful, I would LOVE to own something like that! I mean all of your tanks are super beautiful, but for someone like me who has very little knowledge when it comes to maintaining these tanks, it seems like a fairly low maintenance set up, which would definitely be a good place for someone like me to start! (I may also be totally wrong about how much upkeep it requires because again, I know very little. But just from looking at it, it seems to be fairly self sufficient, besides the excess algae you mentioned, but you seemed to know a fairly easy solution to that, so I hope it wouldn’t require constant work / changes! Regardless, this was such an interesting and gorgeous tour of your room. If I had something like this in my house, I don’t think I would ever use another room again lol
I live for these updates! 😍 And YES with the long fins. I love them... to a point. Bettas and other animals get bred for looks, but we NEED to refocus on their health.
I really appreciate that you try your best to create a natural healthy environment for all your fish, plants and creatures. I wish fish farms would do the same so they have a life before they are harvested for food.
This is such an incredible video! Thank you for always taking so much time and care with your videos AND your animals! Your love for your animals really resonates and is so apparent.
I cannot believe the amount of work that went into all of these aquariums. The entire room is set perfectly and spotless whereas I struggle to keep up the simple apartment maintenance.
What an amazing accomplishment! I'll say, I thoroughly enjoyed this update. Everything is looking so cool, there wasn't a single setup that you talked about that wasn't spectacular. Your dedication to your animals, no matter the species, is really commendable. Lots of people choose not to care about the living things around them, especially if they're not human. But you work tirelessly to keep your passion alive, and you always strive to treat your animals well and provide them with enriching lives. You're a rare soul, Tanner!
This is absolutely amazing, I love the attention to detail and the level of care and passion you have for the animals. Alot of people approach tank animals unattentively and it can lead to neglect but the level of attention you give these creatures is heartwarming. Every angle is well thought out when it comes to the tank and the overall environment it produces. This strikes an excitement in me as I someday wish to create this. You seem have an incredible skill in botany and woodworking. All of these hand in hand create an excellent hobby and lifestyle, because when you fully commit to these creatures it becomes part of your life. Thank you for the content you produce, I wasn't aware of you before this video but you have earned a sub!
I so enjoyed the tour!! It's very heart warming to see I person who really cares about the welfare of the animals. Love the animal room. Keep it up kiddo. 💓💓💓
I don't know much about fish, but I love the fact that though the aesthetic and design are incredible, they are secondary to the well being of the adorable aquatic wildlife (and spider)!
I can't even come up with a clever comment because this room is so beautiful. I want to live in it. Is the air crisp from all the oxygen? It looks like you've established an ancient forest level of plants in there which constantly blows me away. Can't wait to be back next week :)

Plainly A M A Z I N G, Your knowledge and kindness for every single animal and plant makes everyone I have shared this video with fall in love with you. Thanks for sharing
i just found your channel a few days ago and ive really enjoyed seeing all these different tanks youve created! i was very lucky to find you right now it seems, because after getting a patchwork story from hopping around various videos, im now fully up to speed thanks to this one! i think the ones im most happy to see are the pea puffer aquascape (i was so worried the algae would force you to redo the tank entirely!!) and the 350 paludarium (its just so big and lively!!!!) looking forward to seeing what you do next and im glad to be a part of the squad now (-:
Truly inspiring and beautiful! You care so much and work so hard to enrich ALL of the animals in your care. I'd be lying if i said I wasn't envious of you... to have the passion, means, and endurance to make it all happen! Thank you so much for sharing with all of us!!!
Hey man this is the first vid of yours I've ever seen and I HAD to comment. Absolutely amazing imo, good camera editing, amazingly clear details, very good explanations while not "dragging on" on any topic and amazing displays... I will absolutely be back for more and you've earnt yourself another subscriber today!! :)))
i've been a follower of this channel for years and it really has expanded my view of what is art but my knowledge of what animals in tanks need to survive and thrive - but not even just that - to appreciate the different personalities and mannerisms of all the different fish and lizards - things I never even considered to have such distinct personalities. But as a rat owner, I feel like I should have known. This showed me to never underestimate any animal and their attitudes/preferences. It makes me so beyond happy so see how good of a life they have with you.
WOW, Tanner!! Just Wow! It's amazing what a dedicated, inventive and innovated artist can accomplish! You showcase those qualities and so much more! It's because of you and your videos tat I got back into keeping fish again, after 25-30 years. Nothing like yours, just a 55 and a 29 gallon. They're not bad, just nothing special. Although my brother, who kept a lot of tanks also, including a 200+ gal. Saltwater tank, said my tanks look really good, which really means a lot to me. Thank you, (and I'm sure many others feel the same way) for sharing the love and enthusiasm you bring to the hobby!!! God Bless Tanner, and keep doing what you have been doing so well! You know, reading back through the post, I don't know if I used enough explanation points (lol) ;-)
Great work Tanner.....looks marvelous and I always appreciate the fact that you put the animal's needs first! Maybe nice to set up the 75 gallon tank for Axolotls? WOuld be great to see those!

So amazing!! I wouldn't wanna leave the room. Seriously! I would love to see a gf for your African bullfrog. He does seem a bit lonesome. I just love them all but I'm so curious as to what's going in the new huge one...?
Thanks for all your creativity, that can inspire us less creative. And many thanks for showing your diy videos. Your are an excellent teacher. Keep doing what your are doing so very great. And keep evolving, so we can evolve and learn too.
Absolutely incredible! Have you ever considered live streaming a few tanks for some ASMR-esque videos and allowing people to just look at and admire your animals/tanks? It'd be nice to just watch your animals interacting on top of your builds and upgrades
I‘m sure, that the 600 Gallon Vivarium will be stocked with frogs. I would guess Dart Frogs or Agalychnes. Finally a room tour, good thing to see all these magnificent setups again. Keep going like this
This is so sick its always amazing seeing the hard work you put into these set ups, you go deep into prioritizing the beauty while also giving the animals a great life and place to live! Have you ever thought of doing a newt setup? :D
I love how you describe a Betta as active . Most people would describe them as lazy because they don’t keep them properly . A betta becomes so much more beautiful and fun to keep in a decent size tank
I have a question, do you ever struggle with mosquitos laying eggs in your tanks? I've been wanting to keep an open top tank but I've been worried about them. (I haven't started my tank yet and have been doing more research )
its 2:30 in the morning and this is so therapeutic to watch. very educational and lovely. i can truly see how much effort you put into this video. amazing and stunning set up you have. keep going and have a nice day!

You seem have an incredible skill in botany and woodworking. All of these hand in hand create an excellent hobby and lifestyle, because when you fully commit to these creatures it becomes part of your life. Thank you for the content you produce, I wasn't aware of you before this video but you have earned a sub!
You give your animals such amazing homes! You rock, Tanner! Thanks for sharing all of this with us
Finally someone who cares as much about the plants and small ecosystem as well as the animals.
I so enjoyed the tour!! It's very heart warming to see I person who really cares about the welfare of the animals. Love the animal room. Keep it up kiddo. 💓💓💓
I loved how this entire video had my undivided attention. Your interest in all of it keeps us interested! Love this channel!!!
I would love to see a build showcasing crabs or something like it. Love to watch them, and would be exiting to see you building them a perfect home!
Wow, it took me three days to watch this, between work, play and life in general, I thank you for such a great treat! Rock on!
I’m glad you reach 1 million! Been watching you a long time and you are 100% the best at creating these environments
I think you should have your own TV 📺 show like those yard crashers!!
You have so much talent and knowledge,
Thanks for everything you do.
Tanner, you have one of my favorite channels in all of UA-cam! I have been waiting for this animal room tour and you never disappoint. I am always rooting for you and excitedly anticipating the project you share with us next!
One of my favorite UA-cam channels man, been following for a few years and i love the animal room updates!
I’m finishing college with environmental science and soon as I’m done I want to build a vivarium 😊
Outstanding Tanner! Everything is breathtakingly beautiful. I was hoping you'd make this video and I'm sure all of your subscribers appreciate all the hard work you put into it as I do. Your builds continue to inspire me and I learn new information and techniques with every upload you produce. Thank you!
Dude, you’re so intelligent and creative. Thanks for sharing your animal room! I’ve been laying in bed completely enjoying the tour.
You speak with such ease about all this - you’re the perfect host.
The individuality if all these tanks are incredible. Really shows your passion
I am totally diggin' the vibe of this room! Your work is amazing and well presented.
So I’m into reptiles and my husband is into freshwater fish. You are the channel we love to watch together!!
Great work Tanner.....looks marvelous and I always appreciate the fact that you put the animal's needs first! Maybe nice to set up the 75 gallon tank for Axolotls? WOuld be great to see those!
Man, I'll be honest, I'm suffering a little bit of anxiety for my job and personal life. I just discovered this channel and it gives me a lot of peace.
Keep doing that incredible work
This… is purely incredible. It is a dream to have a room like that, custom built and all🥺
Made me really happy when you mentioned Rooibos tea, because I'm drinking a cup right now! I'm from South Africa and we're very proud of this amazing tea. Thanks for the video. Love settling down to watch your stuff , really relaxing. Even though I don't do anything like this myself.
I want to watch the firebellied toads for hours!
🙏🏼👍🏽🌱🐸🐌🐠🐡🦈🐟🌿🌊🪨🍂
I think that he has done this before, actually
@@GoneFishin-rn9hs I know he's done an ASMR video before, but it'd just be nice to watch his animals doing their thing
To be surrounded by these aquariums must be awesome & relaxing.
I‘m sure, that the 600 Gallon Vivarium will be stocked with frogs. I would guess Dart Frogs or Agalychnes.
Finally a room tour, good thing to see all these magnificent setups again. Keep going like this
So, not monkeys?
Idk maybe leachieanas?
Corallus hortulanus?
@@temushin marmosets!
Yh I totally agree! Big Tony really is happy with you. Thanks so much for helping him ❤️
Wow, this is so gorgeous! Lovely animals and lovely setups, they’re all so creative!
Could listen to you for hours. Your passion and knowledge ist outstanding.
This is so sick its always amazing seeing the hard work you put into these set ups, you go deep into prioritizing the beauty while also giving the animals a great life and place to live! Have you ever thought of doing a newt setup? :D
Maybe I have 😉
Great disclaimer of 22 years of work and research for what you love doing 👏
Beautiful , it's more then just cages , it's art. I love it. Also I hope you never have to move lol
Oh man. Can you imagine how awful it would be to try and even plan out moving all that? Oof.
I love how you describe a Betta as active . Most people would describe them as lazy because they don’t keep them properly . A betta becomes so much more beautiful and fun to keep in a decent size tank
This is how my villagers’ houses look like in animal crossing, before I found out that they will put out everything you gift them in display ☠️
You are the king of DIY! Love listening to you talk about each enclosure! Happy 2022! 💚
I have a question, do you ever struggle with mosquitos laying eggs in your tanks? I've been wanting to keep an open top tank but I've been worried about them. (I haven't started my tank yet and have been doing more research )
Moving water
Wow!! I wouldn't be able to get anything done. I'd be sitting and staring at the tanks all day. This is fabulous!! GREAT JOB!
This is so awesome. You should just open a zoo
I was mesmerized and greatly inspired. You are a gentle animal loving genius.
its 2:30 in the morning and this is so therapeutic to watch. very educational and lovely. i can truly see how much effort you put into this video. amazing and stunning set up you have. keep going and have a nice day!
that betta setup is insane, i adore naturalistic setups
I just found this gut and have been watching him in between my online classes, he is so amazing at his passion and he creates beautiful pieces of art work, keep up the great work!
Oh my goodness! Just last night I was wishing for a tour! I just love, love, love you to pieces!!!!!whooohooooooooo!😍😍😍😍
