There are so many ways you can get tripped up via the layers of state and federal regs. It really isn't worth playing around anymore as the stakes are too high.
I still don't understand the air cannon since they are used every year to throw pumpkins in competition, are all those registered as a DD or some other type of agreement with ATF?
3d printed firearms are legal even here in California, you just need to give it a State-registered serial on a metal plate, it's like a $20 filing fee plus $5 per serial.
Compared to what some youtubers who are into chemistry or lasers produce. I'd say you can be pretty relaxed. If we're talking about regulations and their control.
Use the 3D printer to make a model of a metal part, then make a mold around that. Remove the plastic part, and fill with molten steel. Repeat for each part and assemble. I have a question. There are the 37mm havoc launchers like spikes tactical makes. You can relode those with black powder as long as you stay below a threshold for your propellant and the explosives. The 37mm launcher is known as a signaling device. If you shrunk down the moartar size would it be legal to launch them without registering it.
That's because the bean bag rounds are manufactured to be anti person. So they are defined as DD. but if a device is not specifically manufactured as anti person. And by the definition of a DD being, (“destructive device” means- Any explosive, incendiary, or poison gas bomb, grenade, rocket having a propellant charge of more than four ounces, missile having an explosive or incendiary charge of more than one-quarter ounce, mine, or devices similar.) As long as there is no projectiles and you stay below these parameters it shouldn't be considered a DD. Or am I just not understanding the definition properly?
Alright, you mentioned AZAO, and I know about the use of black powder having exemptions. I’m hoping you can talk more about the use of black powder or smokeless powder as a propellant, like for a mortar or RPG round to propel (move) it, and when or if that becomes a DD. For example, AZAO Inc. FAQ page states, “All BINARY frag/ NFDD hand grenades, HE 40mm & HE RPG rounds with over 1/4oz of explosive material require registration, but do NOT require explosive licensing/storage if you add the explosive mix to the grenades on the day of use on private property.” And also states “Once the exempted materials are put into NON "small-arms use" (like in a big ol' 40mm round), they now lose their exemption and are considered explosive materials again.”
Just wondering. What about 3d printed granates for Airsoft? I've seen some with some kind of explosion sound. Looks like a destructive device, but is it?
Suggestion: the black powder claymore/ Kent tube. 19th century claymore mine. Cast iron pipe sealed at one end black powder and a load of musket balls facing open end. Well sealed with wax fabric at business end. Basically a sawed off cannon to provide cover for key paths of ingress for attacking force. Such as bridge or causeway, fortress gates , breeches etc. Was proposed/ maybe used in Russo Japanese war with gun cotton and electric detonator. The tube blew apart but the shrapnel balls flew out the unsealed end of the pipe.
I would love to see a video on if it's possible to turn 10mm Liberty Civil Defense ammo into exploding ammo by filling the hollow with a binary compound then capping it with some solder. They have a rated velocity of 2,400 fps, so should explode on impact without the need for a fuse or primer in the tip. Maybe add some zirconium powder for an incendiary effect.
@@OrdnanceLab explosive and gun laws in germany are a joke😂my parents said in their time you could simply buy chlorates at the hardware store or potassium nitrate at the local butcher. You also could buy smaller caliber guns from the catalog without a license. And there was no shooting/bombing every week. Now you cant even buy small amounts of potassium permanganite for water purification, not even 96% sulfuric acid for car batteries. Plus if you have a gun license the feds will regularly search your house to see if they are properly stored, and your license can be revoked for minor things like parking tickets or membership/sympathy for political organizations/partys deemed „concerning“ (it doesn’t even have to be an illegal organization). And if that wasnt even enough, they are discussing even stricter laws at the moment
Hey there! This video on 3D printing is awesome! It got me thinking about a wild idea: what if we could print objects layer by layer, but from the inside out? Imagine a 3D printer on steroids, with a spinning mold and robotic arms depositing materials. We could create super intricate mechanisms or even build entire structures floor by floor with spray concrete. This "layered construction" approach could be a game-changer for fabrication! #layeredprinting #futureofconstruction
I really love when you talk in German or throw in a word or two. Would be nice having a whole video in German but it would probably do pretty bad on UA-cam 😂 Greetings from Germany
Legally theoretically (I have dogs I love, I’m not trying this) it would seem that an air powered “explosive” would slip through the cracks of the law as destructive device says explosive, incendiary, or poison gas. Say a 3500-4000 psi reservoir with an impact activated dump valve into the chamber that usually holds the boom powder.
Has anyone ever done anything to your knowledge with those golf ball mortars where someone has made an actual mortar round (sort of like your Colonial era iron British grenade)? I've been told you can, I know even though I have a golf ball mortar, I have no interest in finding out with my own, not knowing all the regs involved.
I have a suggestion for a video, not sure if this is the place to post. Put some small propane cylinders in a microwave like in the movie 'The Equilizer'. Curious if it would actually explode without puncturing the tank first, and would it result in as big a boom as in the movie. Obviously it is a movie and in sure they didn't use that for the actual effect, but it would be interesting to see what the results would actually be.
I hear one set of words, "Destructive Device". But this does not apply to Black Powder Cannons. The only question that comes to mind is, The Pumpkin Cannon, we have a Pumpkin Patch Owner who uses a Pumpkin Cannon powered by air. fun to watch and its fixed position locks the trajectory in one area only, across a Pond also on his property. Does he have to worry about ATF killing his Dog??? Good explanation about Destructive Devices, but it is still a bit vague. I don't have a 3D printer and no aspirations of getting into energetic ordinances. But it's always fun to watch you guys do this. And no I don't own a Pumpkin Patch...lol
me an an Aussie who cant even make a solid concrete grenade for re enactment ( we have appearance regulations ie if it looks like something it is treated as that thing regardless of function)
Question, I'm actually about to graduate from law school in May. I'm wondering from your experience in dealing with lawyers in this space, what advice would you give to an aspiring attorney in this area? In other words, what should I avoid doing to give people a negative experience like yours? Unfortunately, I've heard your comments about incompetence and laziness echoed by many other professionals. Sad situation... Really just want more of your thoughts on attorneys in firearms and DDs.
Absolutely correct on shall not comply is a personal choice and if any decide to not comply , then don't ask us for money for your commissary fund if you get caught . But the good part is you might actually get Matt Hoover as a cell mate . You know Matt Hoover from CRS firearms channel .
So with the STL files if I happen to own a registered RPG-2 could I pay you for the STL files and sign a NDA that would prevent me from redistributing it?
I wouldn't distribute the files either. All risk, no reward. If you can't make the most simple of 3D models, you can't print the model either. And if you could you'd probably want to modify it for your combination of plumbing supplies.
@dannymitchell6131 They aren't responsible for what someone does with a design. But I'm not arguing about them posting files, I understand their reasoning given how public they are and the nature of their work. Simply pointing out a fact, correcting what he stated in the video. Files are free to be distributed online and aren't under ITAR.
I think that one comes under "Show us how it's done!". I'm no expert, but I do know playing chicken with ITAR and all the other legislation is likely to end up with a large legal bill and some unpleasent moments. But if successful, it might, just might establish a legal precedent that allows other people to do *exactly* what it was that established that precedent. This is an area of business (or pleasure) where it really is better to seek permission than hope for forgiveness. Especially when there may be lawyers and law enforcement on the other side wanting to make sure you don't end up setting a precedent.
@@_Livefreeordie_dude that set precedent took the ride i believe too, he saw someone els poke the bear and get arrested for it but never convicted, not only that but like they just made it legal to punish firearms manufacturers you imagine someone printed a granade and blew off a hand then sued you for making the file public to print
So if the hell cannon isn’t a DD, (it’s technically not an antique or reproduction) then a panzerfaust wouldn’t be considered a DD either because it’s muzzle loading blackpowder with no fixed primer
I’ve just a got good one for you guys to try out. Would using flash powder or black powder set of ANFO used as a booster charge just using cannon fuse instead of using a blasting cap and if you used it in some sort of a pressure vessel like a pipe bomb so the black powder could build up enough pressure to cause the ANFO to go off and detonate. I seen it in a French movie or was it a Belgian movie, I can’t remember but it’s a cool experiment to try out.

Was proposed/ maybe used in Russo Japanese war with gun cotton and electric detonator. The tube blew apart but the shrapnel balls flew out the unsealed end of the pipe.
The 3D printed hand grenade looks almost cartoonish, anyway have fun guys can't wait for the next one.
No apologies for having good boy doggos in your videos are necessary 😊
Those dogs are hilarious. They should make more guest appearances.😂
The dogs made your video better. 😂 have a great day.
The puppy is so cute i just wanna hug it.
Your dog loves you
I would love to see a video on if it's possible to turn 10mm Liberty Civil Defense ammo into exploding ammo by filling the hollow with a binary compound then capping it with some solder. They have a rated velocity of 2,400 fps, so should explode on impact without the need for a fuse or primer in the tip. Maybe add some zirconium powder for an incendiary effect.
The dogs were cracking me up...🤣
bro, i cant, with the massive rpg rocket round in one hand and the other petting your dog.
Sorry I've only got one vote up - love seeing the pups, and the content is always interesting.
To the „why is this on youtube“ faction: everyone who paid attention in basic chemistry knows how to make things go boom
You would think they would get that but........the hundreds of comments of that very nature says otherwise.
Would be nice having a whole video in German but it would probably do pretty bad on UA-cam 😂
Greetings from Germany
That's a cute pupper!
I didn't realise how much I have missed
I have a suggestion for a video, not sure if this is the place to post. Put some small propane cylinders in a microwave like in the movie 'The Equilizer'. Curious if it would actually explode without puncturing the tank first, and would it result in as big a boom as in the movie. Obviously it is a movie and in sure they didn't use that for the actual effect, but it would be interesting to see what the results would actually be.
hello ordanance lap, according to my research if you make the copper shaped charge more thick and longer it will penetrate more armor.
It’s a good thing I lost my 3d printer in a boating accident
Puppy tax has been paid! Thank you!
Only thing that I wanna know if it’s legal or not is if you can make a tank fire either bbs airsoft or nerf
He's BACK!!!!!!!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Nylon with aluminum power might be a better base material, yes?
For what?
Figure out a way to 3d print nitrocellulose.
@@Tunkkis for a more durable sale instead of just plastic it's actual partially metal and much more durable probably fragments even nastier too
me an an Aussie who cant even make a solid concrete grenade for re enactment ( we have appearance regulations ie if it looks like something it is treated as that thing regardless of function)
You live in the land of the insane.
6:19 - I truly thought Webbly was about to down suppressed fire on that bench.
This is my favorite channel. I love the dogs! So funny what he said about lawyers
Puppy is beyond adorable
With the explosive cannon balls in the works if you had a Krupp 50mm mountain gun, would you try explosive rounds for that?
Absolutely correct on shall not comply is a personal choice and if any decide to not comply , then don't ask us for money for your commissary fund if you get caught . But the good part is you might actually get Matt Hoover as a cell mate . You know Matt Hoover from CRS firearms channel .
It's good to see discount William Dafoe again
So with the STL files if I happen to own a registered RPG-2 could I pay you for the STL files and sign a NDA that would prevent me from redistributing it?
The real questions that require answers!
"A bunch of yahoos blowin' stuff up" Oh I see you mean "living the dream" ?
As long as you destroy the destructive device the same day you don’t have to register it. And detonate it in a safe area
STL files aren't covered under ITAR....there was a federal case about this a few years ago.
They don't care, they don't want YOU SPECIFICALLY to have the models.
You can't drop bombs from drones but you can put them on a string and raise them up then release the string to test them still
