I bought my PSVITA to play Ys Memories of Celceta. Till this day it's still my favorite way to play it. I can also Ys Origins or Ys Oath in Felghana in it thanks to the PSP emulation.
I have my Vita Slim as a present on Christmas 2018. Even though it is second-hand, I cherished it and I take care of it. My first games I played were P4G, Gravity Rush and Ratchet & Clank/Sly Trilogy.
I believe Vita defines life.... Even after all these year, even after being thrown under the rug by its parents.. there are devs out there that have kept it alive till date and hope fully in near future as well.. I love my Vita ❤❤
Don't forget how awesome the standby mode is too. Pause in the middle of anything, even cut scenes, and it's still good weeks later with plenty of battery life remaining!
@@soulmourne2698 i think whats impressive is that with the modern switch, there has been many instances of a suspended app in rest mode having some sort of error when you boot it back up after a good amount of time, not to mention that some apps just eat the switch battery life in an instant. Tho on the vita its mostly small games size-wise, its cool that the battery life feels like a lifetime and games and apps being in rest mode for weeks boot up and functions smoothly.
@@chachan6044 4 hours is not lifetime to me thats what it lasts playing a game, both consoles are good though, in switch you can have in rest mode a game a pretty decent amount of time too, in 3ds not as much but switch is pretty efficient too considering the power of the console, actually in rest mode switch lasts a lot, but the os is much more complex than vita os and it lasts less, at the end what matters is games and the vita wasn't great at those couse there are very few in english that are amazing, i think that the vita is the best hardware playstation has ever made
@@soulmourne2698 agree with you, but i was talking about when you have a game running in standby mode. Its pretty impressive for it being a decade old and having a low consumption rate. I think the longest i had was persona 4 golden on standby for a week and a half straight and the battery didnt run out
I have a 1000, 2000 and a "Modified" PSTV, and I absolutely adore my vita collection! I have sunk many many hours in to Dragons crown, such a beautiful game, that looks amazing on the 1000.
I got a V1 Switch but I still rock with the OG 1000 OLED model Vita from time to time. Freedom Wars, Muramasa Rebirth and Dariusburst CS still look amazing on a syatem that's 10 years old. Also, a game like Freedom Wars STILL having online players in 2021 is astounding to me. I can't believe the servers for that game are still up despite Sony abandoning the handheld years ago.
Got my orange Japan Vita brand new on Amazon as soon as I read that Japan was stopping production. Love this thing. Many more years of games to discover.
I've always loved the colors of the Japanese 2000 vitas. . . well the second run colors anyway. The Aqua Blue, Metallic Red, Neon Orange, Glacier White & Silver units were gorgeous. Then again the Red and Blue 1000s were a sight to behold as well with their sparkling finishes.
Sometimes i go to work and leave my house for a week, i do prefer my ps4, but i got a modified Vita, i got everything there and it's just a perfect handheld, you say imagine the Vita with sd support, imagine using 2022 tech on a new handheld, 120hz, fast charging, double battery, OLED, waterproof, If Sony learned from their mistakes and released a handheld that doesn't look like dash screen unit(steam deck) with joycons it will put all the handhelds out there to shame, BUT, the majority of gamers these days are mobile gamers whether you like it or not it is what it is, if Sony can somehow get those mobile pubg gamers to buy their handheld console then this is it, The Japanese failed in the smartphone market, Handheld console market is their field
It's a portable gaming device first and so everything else is secondary. I also appreciate how you mentioned homebrew. Its the biggest reason I love my Vita.
I'm a sucker for a good handheld, and the Vita is one of my faves. It was my only PlayStation experience of that generation, and I couldn't have asked for a better one. I really enjoyed playing DOA5, Mortal Kombat, WipeOut, MGS, and so many others on this system. Just like some of my other favorite consoles, it's totally underrated.
I bought my Vita and 14 games in 2012 when I thought the world was going to end. It was too expensive but who cares anymore when the world is ending, right? Looking back, I stumbled into a pretty sweet situation. Nowadays it's mainly used for emulation, and I have kids now, who get to love it too. ❤️
I ordered my Vita in March, the day before the article came out. I wasn't thrilled about that, but Persona 4 Golden is amazing so far. Still hoping to get some physical games soon.
I'm also grateful that I got my collection mostly done before the system's discontinuation, and, more so, got my hands on almost all the Asian-English Games I wanted, which are kinda rare. I still long for a few games I never got for my main collection though and now are impossible to get cause of their prices, I'm only missing LoH: Trails of Cold Steel II & Ys: Lacrimosa of Dana; and Ys Origin & RE: Revelations 2 from the Asian-English ones. Hopefully I'll get them given enough time.
You gotta be dreaming. So many devices still use micro usb. Power banks, bt headphones, mobile routers etc. I always have the micro usb cable in a backpack.
I got mine way later after release. The Series 1000 and got it because of the ps1 games I wanted to play on it. I rarely used it but still love it. This video has reminded me that I have a perfectly good handheld system and that I should start using it more.
Great video, thanks! I currently own 12 vita 1000s, 2 vita 2000s and 9 vita tvs. I "play" with them all the time! My reason is that I love to hardware mod!
i still have the day one vita, and no analog stick drifts after 10 years! i abuse those sticks in games like god of war lol. still working like a champ
I have the 1000 model which I purchased right around the time it launched. Uncharted, Playstation All Stars Battle Royal, Metal Gear games, and a bunch of PS1 classics were a large chunk of my gaming time spent on the system. When we thought we were losing the Vita store, I did bulk up my library and buy a bunch of games I never got around to owning before, like Persona 4 Golden.. I look forward to playing them soon.
I was working at Radioshack back when the vita came out in February 2012, just remember how cool it felt to have the box in hand the day before. I remember really being so excited to have it, but just couldn't wait for some GTA Vita ports but alas... That never came out.. Thank god for Moddes like TheFlow who solved that for me
I love my Vita and I loved it since day one (it was the only system I have ever bought on launch). I still own and play my 2012 OLED WiFi model and I own exactly 397 physical games for the system (duplicates excluded) with 3 more on their way. Soooo... I expect to have exactly 400 Vita games in my collection within few weeks 😁
I have a vita and I’ve loved it since day one. So much untapped potential it’s a shame that based on the vitas life cycle that they won’t make a successor
My brother, who didn't use it much, gifted me his Vita. The OG OLED 1000 model in crisp condition. Games included where Lego Batman 3, Lego Movie, Lego Hobbit, Lego Chima, MLB14, Sonic All Star Racing and COD: Disclassified. Looking forward on getting more games, specially the one's mentioned here.
I have a 1000 model since launch and it still works like a champ... and I have used it regularly all of that time. Uber-reliable little piece of hardware. :-)
Today is 11 of August 2021, last week I was looking for vitas on ebay and bids were ending at 64$, now all bids rise quickly and plateau at 80$ then ending at 142$-172$ based on color.
Love vita. I have a black 1000, black/pink 2000, a persona 2000, and a vita tv. I have around 300 physical games and another 400 digital. Still play it all the time. I am trying to get every game I want physical.
As someone who could afford this back then due to being a young fella with two jobs... It was really the lack of library... especially since DBZ was huge... Gundam was massive... and all they wanted to do was spew out more final fantasy remasters... took awhile to get Star Ocean games as well... It was a rough launch for people who actually loved portable games, but had a super limited USA library to offer.
Within yrs a lot more people will get the vita and have the same feeling as us vita gamers and keepers and Sony say you know what...we haven't made a handheld console since the vita so I really think we should as a game company should continue the console with more games, new games, better software and everything the ps Vita should have from the PS3 to the PS4 since we made that choice of having using the vita as a controller for both & streaming 💯💯😍
I’ve had both vita’s and honestly I think I’ve had some of the most fun times on my vita instead of my PS4 I really don’t know why but I loved this little system
I'm new user of this system and I agree this system and the games on this system are still fun even though this system is aged well. Not only that, I also benefit from this system, namely a community of this system that is very open to users of this system, both old users and new users. And don't forget the homebrew scene community who are still dedicated to making this system alive, this homebrew scene community is also what makes me also want to make this system alive by creating a custom theme for this system lol. I have made one and I have published it on CTM and I have plan to making another one.
I'm looking for how to hook my playstation Vita PCH 1000 model to my playstation 4 pro (what sim card) is it that I've need to get things up & running?
Started colecting laste year, now i have 7 VITA's some black some white wifi and 3g only the 1000 series, have around 50 games. But i prefer to work on VITA's(i buy repair an then, try to, sell) hahahaha but i really do love the feeling to revive an old not working VITA.
@@totallylegitsonyemployee My point is there is no need to get a Vita because PSP has a huge library compared to Vita. Getting a Vita just to play PSP games is just a waste.
@@MALO-nn5iy what's the point of owning a psp when the vita plays vita and psp furthermore why don't you use ppsspp on your phone? android and ios have millions of games!
Well you know... It's always easy to give advice from hindsight 🤣🤣🤣 But tbh, there were a few tweaks they could have done to help it compete with the 3DS at the time. SD cards probably being the biggest thing since it would've cut down on R&D, so it would've cut down the cost and made it way more competitive at the time, especially when Nintendo dropped the price of the 3DS on the weekend of the international release
@@MrGonz801 vita is not the only device with that proprietary card. Sony have also produced phones and digital cameras with MMC2 card, so it did not impact the R&D of vita and they’ve just used the card they had. But overall, you are correct. Giving advice from the hindsight, sony could’ve replaced MMC2 with micro sd on psv2000 when it came out in 2013
Not counting any old Gameboys (advance, ds, & OG) Best portable, hands down!!! The Switch is coming up though and I gotta give it it's props. The Switch will be just like the Vita in the next 5 years for sure, but for now..., VITA is Life!! Pun intended!!
I have a switch and I'm gonna upgrade to the OLED model because I've been spoiled by my Vita and my Sony phones and won't settle for anything less than an OLED for my games.
I’m one of those people that wanted the Vita for Western AAA games more than anything else. I still play Call of Duty on there a lot and just finished Assassin’s Creed. Uncharted and Killzone also have great Vita titles
I have a new ps vita that is not open while I game on the PSTV. I do have some games that only work on Vita though at times I want to open it but some have told me to just leave is sealed and buy a used one instead.
I love my vita, I put a 1tb SD card in mine. I have 560 vita games and every emulator available, its awesome. It blows my mind why sony didn't just have a bundle with a ps4 and a vita to move more vita consoles, such a missed opportunity
Glad I bought a modded PS Vita Slim 256GB in January this year for it's 10th anniversary for $150, managed to download a total of 120 games to fit 256GB on it and it was well worth the price for a handheld gaming device from Sony before "Western" Sony.
It did very well in Japan not so much outside of Japan and the rest of Asia. Lack of marketing and proprietary expensive memory cards was it downfall. Games were continuously released up to this year (2021) .
i have my a japan ps vita it the ps vita 1000 model i had it since 2012 wen it first came i thought i lost it i moded mine cuz i heard that gta sa was ported to it so i moded mine it really is a great system and your video was great
Message functionality have been disabled in Australia. I'd hope it could come back, but with all the things Sony are doing, especially in removing features from PS4, I doubt it'll happen. Also, I don't know why PS Now isn't available in Australia, but eh.
I have two modified vita's one of them a 1000 version have PSP and PS1 games and the other one a 1101 or 3G version have psvita games and a third on that I use for parts to fix the other two
I always wanted a PlayStation vita for the rpg games though after doing some more research. The whole having to buy more space like the exclusive SD cards and the price really kills the vibe luckily I can enjoy the great games on my PlayStation 5. Though it was a missed opportunity. If it would’ve succeeded just imagine what it could’ve been now.
People if you are in the hunt for a PSVita get the 2000 model , I know the 1000 model has a OLED SCREEN but the 2000 model LCD screen is an excellent screen !
Also the Oled has a limited lifespan with the screen unfortunately, they slowly decay over time playing, and you have to be careful buying used ones hoping it doesn't have a screen burn. That's why I keep my 1001 in storage only coming out for certain games and use my 2001 as my main system. Lol
Got my Vita in 2012 with Unit13, NFS: Most Wanted, FIFA13, Mortal Kombat back then. Don’t fancy jRPGs as I’ve seen that all people use the vita to play these days. - not my style of game, recently picked Persona4Golden & Soul Sacrifice, but I haven’t torn the pack open yet to play either of them. I’m not rooting my hardware, leaving it stock. but instead I’m locating cool games like Dead or Alive 5 Plus, Uncharted, Ninja Gaiden: Sigma +, & Killzone to add to my collection. Then I think I’d be done.
I love my Vita. I got all the rare accessories too. Including that extremely hard to find PDP Pull N Go Folio for the Vita. I wanted the blue camo one but the seller wanted a lot for it and it was used. another seller had the reg camo one and it was basically brand new as it was "open box" or "open package". But it came complete and in New condition. Also got the 2 best grips for the Vita. madcatz rare hard game case. I only have 30 something physical games and 20 something digital. Mine is NOT nodded or jail broken. I would like one of those but they want a lot for used ones. I bought my Vita in 2018 brand new. had to buy it from Japan because I wanted the aqua blue and I wanted it brand new.
Why do you keep looking down a lot? I find it quite funny. Also, when you showed your table while showing your devices the lighting is way too dim especially when you were showing the games like I can barely see the cover of them. I hope you brightened it up a bit more in your future videos. Apart from that, I like the quality of your video and the way you present yourself since your tone is good and uplifting to keep us paying attention. I also noticed that you seem to like the shade white. Do you have a white Nintendo Switch? 👀 Or are you not a fan of Nintendo?
I appreciate the feedback. I'll definitely keep it in mind moving forward. I'm planning on getting the Switch OLED, but for now I'm happy with the Animal Crossing Edition.
@@TNVGAMING I love the colors of the Animal Crossing Edition! They're so beautiful! I was going to buy that but I held back because I got 5 PS Vitas to tinker around with. I hope you're enjoying the Switch.
To tell you the truth, I don't mind the Vita and its library of games but since my cat dropped my PSP and it died, I finally grabbed a Vita for a reasonable price this last December, now I'm playing Metroid Zero Mission on a GBA emulator on a emulated PSP on my Vita. Oh BTW, I also tried Senran Kagura, just don't donwload the version that's on Reddit like I did.
I was never really interested in portable gaming or Vita when I have a home console PS4... But then I played Trails of Cold Steel and wanted to play previous titles in this franchise - Trails in the Sky. And because Im traveling to my job, I figured that I want to play it on portable device instead of PC, so I got Vita 1000 about 2 months ago. I wanted to play japanese title with english patch, so I had to hack the system, and Vita is considered dead already, so why not to hack it and get access to all the games and emulation. I do have good memories with NES games, so I wanted to try also these on that beautiful OLED screen and I also do love japanese games, JRPGs and visual novels, so... it was really a good choice for me to buy it, and now... I think its the best portable gaming machine. I love my Vita and Sony should be ashamed for treating it like this... it was difficult to compete with mobile gaming, sure... but if they really wanted, they could have changed this outcome, just take a look at Switch. And in Japan, Vita even started to be popular and was increasing in sales. Its just too bad that some new indie games are not available on Vita anymore... I dont really wanna to play them on PS4. Vita or portable device is much better for these and Switch is too big imo, Vita has this perfect size.
@@straightwarlock5341 Ali express has cheap knock offs where the screen isn't attached vary well. Just use heat gun remove then put in a slightly larger one. Like no black bezel 🤔🤔🤔

And don't forget the homebrew scene community who are still dedicated to making this system alive, this homebrew scene community is also what makes me also want to make this system alive by creating a custom theme for this system lol. I have made one and I have published it on CTM and I have plan to making another one.
Welcome to Vita Island! 🏝
I'm looking for how to hook my playstation Vita PCH 1000 model to my playstation 4 pro (what sim card) is it that I've need to get things up & running?
I will be buying this sometime this year.
Ps” vita” (life ) I’ll be safe guarding my 1000 for life ,sounds about right
Great content and advice! I bought a vita last year after collecting psp stuff and wanted to modd it but now I feel like buying another vita
Thank you. Comments like this are what drove me to make my content. 🙂
Have a great new year.

Love you dude, would totally allow you in the blunt rotation g laterrrrrrr
Started colecting laste year, now i have 7 VITA's some black some white wifi and 3g only the 1000 series, have around 50 games.
But i prefer to work on VITA's(i buy repair an then, try to, sell) hahahaha but i really do love the feeling to revive an old not working VITA.
Remote Play & The AirPod pros. With games like metal gear,GTA, Call of duty. On the OLED Screen is amazing!!!
PSP 1000 with ips mod is the KING!!!
The king has been overthrown by the PS Vita 1000 with it's OLED screen and homebrew.
@@TNVGAMING Vita library is tiny compared to PSP so there is no need to get Vita if most good games are on PSP.
@@MALO-nn5iy ps vita plays all psp games natively
@@totallylegitsonyemployee My point is there is no need to get a Vita because PSP has a huge library compared to Vita. Getting a Vita just to play PSP games is just a waste.
@@MALO-nn5iy what's the point of owning a psp when the vita plays vita and psp
furthermore why don't you use ppsspp on your phone? android and ios have millions of games!
Everyone are so smart giving sony advices on how to deal with the vita.

@@komamix okay?
Well you know... It's always easy to give advice from hindsight 🤣🤣🤣
But tbh, there were a few tweaks they could have done to help it compete with the 3DS at the time.
Giving advice from the hindsight, sony could’ve replaced MMC2 with micro sd on psv2000 when it came out in 2013
IVE BEEN WANTING ONE since it came out and watching videos on this is not gonna make the delivery process faster
Amazing portable device!
Sony WTF please bring is the VITA pro !!!!
Hopefully they'll reconsider there stance and re-enter the hand held system market
Highly doubt it, look where we are now Ps5 is out
I love my 1000 ps vita still playing it today.
I love my vita, I put a 1tb SD card in mine. I have 560 vita games and every emulator available, its awesome. It blows my mind why sony didn't just have a bundle with a ps4 and a vita to move more vita consoles, such a missed opportunity
I think they did at one point but there was no incentive or savings whatsoever.
@@TNVGAMING they only did in europe not north America but I think 600 for a ps4 and a vita bundle would've been a fair price
@@reggaedomination I'm modded also u still play vita?
@@Gloryboyquan yes I play my vita more than my switch. They just released monster hunter frontier z with an english patch ive been playing that Alot
@reggaedomination I wanted to install it ...but it seem like a lot 😕 is it crazy complicated?...
I love the Vita
Just Got a vita 1000 for free with everything from the 16g memory card to nfs game, loving this thing
I still play Killzone online on the weekends when I have the free time.
comment#2- This video was sick btw 🔥🔥🔥
I hooked up my PS-VITA to my Samsung Tab S7 11 " as a portable screen and even extend to my tv through the same HDMI dongle...🤯🤓
Lol
Saving my pay for my first Vita!
You're gonna love it.
u got it???
Then I think I’d be done.
men of culture would still play PSVita on the streets when everyone holds a phone
I'm one of those guys 😎
Now I want a jail broken one with retro games and I want the orange color
Ps Vita 1000 is my Favorite Play it with need for speed Most Wanted
I love what the PS VITA is capable of, but there weren’t many physical games that demonstrates the handhelds true power.
can we play ps3 and ps4 games preserved in memory card without remote playing ?
i want sony to do another portable so bad. maybe take out the touch screen and back touchpad tho. just like a newer PSP
To "hold it's own in this day and age" it would need 4G or 5G, 5gz wifi and Bluetooth 5.0.
Oh yeah, and usb-c
Also L2/R2, L3/R3, and no proprietary memory cards
Twitter still works well on the Vita :D
The vita’s screen was huge compared to the psps’ screens
Vita mean life in Italian also...
In spanish it's spelled vida
I wonder if you could install a slightly bigger screen in the psv slim 🤔
you….what..?
you must be kidding

Not even a ps vita 3000 Model, Sony killed their handheld line the marketing was very poor back in the day, I didn't see any adverts or bill boards on it.
