@@CostFrost I'm going to try to like it I guess. Play the game how the game wants me to play it. More like the greatness of human kind itself. Just think of all the engineering and sophisticated technology required to even put things like this together in the first place. Games that require you to walk ALL THE WAY back to where you started in the dungeons is almost always deal breaking to me now because of how Skyrim designed the majority of its dungeons to be a full circle in a clever way. It’s immersive and addictive

I still remember learning about this game watching E3. It caught my interest and decided to give it a try. Loved it so much that it eventually became the reason I got into PC building
My wife and I were given the hardbound books of the complete Skyrim books found in the game. Quite awesome. ... oh, and I also have the Skryim cook book. 🙂
I bought Skyrim for my son when it came out, and again when he upgraded consoles, and again when he got into computer gaming and again and again lmao. Took a few copies before my curiosity got the best of me. My son is now 20 and I will forever cherish the bonding that came from the love of Skyrim
I avoided this game for years and finally bought it for $5 yesterday. All I can say is it’s the best $5 I’ve ever spent on a game, and I’ve been missing out heavily
I used to blaze it up to Skyrim and just chill to the ambient music. Every time I see snow or walk around white run I feel a cool breeze and a sense of nostalgia
Bought the vanilla version a few years after it came out...then the legendary version. Played it like it was meant to be played by exploring the world and not using shortcut cheating. Maybe that's why i never even got to the other dlc like dawnguard. Played it off and on reguarly for years then stopped. Bought a new computer and downloaded the anniversary edition with new content. Started playing it again. This game is a masterpiece even if there are some bugs.
First time I played this game I was like 9 and didn’t even know how to save lmao now I’m 19 still coming back to this game every few months. Totally holds up
I spent 260 hours on the Xbox 360 edition. 200 hours on the Xbox one SE. I traded in the Xbox for a PS4. I spend 100 hours on the PS4 edition, the mods are okay. I buy an xbox one x in 2021 and get gamepass. I get into modding; Next thing I know, I’m thinking about my load order while I’m working. It seems as if mod load order became an extra layer of difficulty that was rewarding to mess with. I’m 100-110 hours deep in the newest xbox mod play through and I see no end in sight. This game and the community are timeless and I see no end in sight for this game.
I still havent done everything in Skyrim... 😫 I originally got it for xbox on launch day with the collectors edition. Once i finally got a PC i bought it again. I'll always love this game. It just did something special.
Have you ever done a vid ranking your favorite step out moments? I'd never thought about step out moments till I watched... maybe a vid of yours on Fallout New Vegas? Anyway, they now always catch my attention, and I'd love to see some of your favorites!
I love the Thieves Guild and its influence it has on the world when you don't money cheat. I mean: being able to steal in all cities and sell all your loot to fences and talk your way out of problems with guards is just beautiful roleplaying for me.
it's crazy how often this game has been patched and re released and they haven't fixed a single bug in the 10 straight years they've had and thats the frustrating part. they have the team to port it and make all these new versions so you'd think they'd have a team to patch the well known issues that have been there since day 1
I was 11 years old and had pre ordered the ultimate edition with the pre order book. Was the most hyped I ever was and man Skyrim did not let down. I’m kinda glad that Bethesda knew how great the game was for its time too.
I think Matty makes a good point about Skyrim’s step-out moment. The view is pretty nice, but the way it guides you to progress the opening questline right away ruins the pacing. You want the player to stand there and soak it in for a moment, but I usually just immediately start following Hadvar to Riverwood.
remember that Skyrim Very Special edition trailer 😅 the part that killed me was the actor saying the ice breath shout while playing on a Samsung Smart Refrigerator 😭 also Todd Howard said once, if you want us to stop releasing Skyrim, stop buying it. I mean he ain't wrong lol
I had just started a Skyrim replay a day ago before I saw this. Almost every year around winter time I'll do a Skyrim replay. Long rpgs always feel right when it starts to get cold and snowy, especially Skyrim. I was really chomping at the bit for starfield this year so I'm hoping we wont have to wait too long for it. Let a run of Skyrim and maybe fallout 4 after that fill the void.
These days I just like making historical characters in Skyrim and try to role play them as best I can. My most recent Skyrim playthrough has me going thru an imperial opportunist storyline as Julius Caesar
Every other game i wouldn't make fun off. By this rate I'm sure Skyrim will take over the world and send it's Terminator drones on to humanity shortly after...
I just bought a Series S and the first game I installed was Skyrim, so I'm presently using firebolt to send burning goats tumbling down the mountainside just outside Winterhold.
"Do you know whats wrong with Cyrodill these days? Everyone is obsessed with sex". (Trots off to the local Bath Houses for an Orgy, then the Vomitorium for a spot of lunch, and finally the Amphitheatre's Gladatorial Arena and Dungeons of Death).
It's funny that Todd wishes they could have done more with the world interaction because I personally find that's where a lot of games still lack compared to BGS games. A lot of games claim to take inspiration from BGS but none have ever really come close to the level of immersive world interaction and environmental storytelling that TES or Fallout have. I feel like too many games took the lesser inspirations from Skyrim (skill trees, radiant quests, crafting, etc.) instead what really made it magic.
Seeing the same game intro for the Nth time honestly puts me off doing a new playthrough nowadays. This isn't an exaggeration either, I've lost count of the number of times I've just put the controller down during the intro because I just don't have the willpower anymore. Even the thought of knowing that in order to get dragons appearing in my game requires even more prerequisites on my part (so I'm doing the same dungeon and early main quests over and over again), it's just really awful for repeat playthroughs. Bethesda really need to ensure that the next Elder Scrolls allows you to make last minute changes to character creation prior to the "step out moment", having a save file at that critical part always made Oblivion infinitely more replayable for me.
I remember one day my roommate brought home whatever Xbox was the newest at the time, and Skyrim. I had not even heard of it. Wasn't into gaming at the time. I made fun of him. 3 hours later I hadn't moved watching him play. Next morning started my own first playthrough of this incredible game! But that was 2010 or 11' whenever it came out. I personally have bought it 3 different times now. Don't need to do it again.
I tried playing this once a long time ago and didn’t get much past the intro. Just couldn’t get into it. Might try again one day. Similar thing happened with Witcher 3 and when I went back to that fell in love.
I beat Skyrim once and the dlc in 2011 I can honestly say I’ve never had the urge to replay this. Oblivion was better lol the only reason I’d wanna play again is the mods and extra story content made by fans
I hope when TES6 comes out it's actually good and can finally be a worthwhile game to replace Skyrim for most. I hope it's not like Bethesda's recent garbage releases.
Every few years I come back and check it out. I recently started with mods and just ended up with a half naked harem following me I don’t know how it happened 😅
Honestly, I’ve been screwing around with the Beyond Skyrim/ Reach mods. Bruma, Eastern High Rock, Moonpath into a small part of Elswyre, plus a mountain path into a Morrowind hideout with fresh new loot items available. I’ve expanded as far as my XBox Series will let me on the anniversary version. But then there’s the “Fantastical Beasts” mod, the fantasy creature mod pack, horror creature mod pack, and another thousand hours of my life gone out of the year. 😢😂
Skyrim is a game that you always come back, put 200 hrs, get tired, quit, and after a few months or year you repeat the same cycle again XD

Well I get home at around 2:30 and my mom is already home, heck yeah get to go to GameStop 2 hours early and get it early! Go into my room to change, SKYRIM IS ON MY BED, my mom went get it for me because she knew how excited I was for this game. Such an amazing memory.
Skyrim was my second game I chose to get into. I’ve played it every year since it came out, and with over a hundred days of my life spent in the country of the Nords, it will always have a special place in my heart.

Currently playing Skyrim and I feel addicted lol from exploring to the music it's so easy to get lost in this game. Its why I always come back
I first found you Matty when Skyrim came out and you did unique weapons videos. Such a good time. Been watching you ever since! Even though I game hardly at all, I love your content.

I think a complaint I have is there is a literal war going on but you never really see that play out unless you are directly doing a quest. I love the mod that fixes that, but if you use mods you lose achievements
What a life 😊
Let’s be honest, any other game I play is just a break from playing Skyrim 😅 currently playing Morrowind for the first time
I bought Skyrim for my son when it came out, and again when he upgraded consoles, and again when he got into computer gaming and again and again lmao. Took a few copies before my curiosity got the best of me. My son is now 20 and I will forever cherish the bonding that came from the love of Skyrim
I avoided this game for years and finally bought it for $5 yesterday. All I can say is it’s the best $5 I’ve ever spent on a game, and I’ve been missing out heavily
yeah same i tried it once and was like this is shit, tried in again like a week ago and have 50 hours in it
I used to blaze it up to Skyrim and just chill to the ambient music.
Bro your intro is hilarious. Love it!!!
First time I played this game I was like 9 and didn’t even know how to save lmao now I’m 19 still coming back to this game every few months. Totally holds up
Interesting that you play a high elf and choose to follow a stormcloak out of helgen. What’s the word for that? IRONY. Love it. Good job Matty.
That moment when you eat an 8th of mushrooms and get lost in the forest right in front of Riftin for an hour! Memories...
I spent 260 hours on the Xbox 360 edition.
200 hours on the Xbox one SE.
I traded in the Xbox for a PS4.
I spend 100 hours on the PS4 edition, the mods are okay.
I buy an xbox one x in 2021 and get gamepass.
I get into modding;
Next thing I know, I’m thinking about my load order while I’m working.

Favorite of all time. Have since fallen in love with other entries like Morrowind but Skyrim will always be like comfort food to me
Have you ever done a vid ranking your favorite step out moments? I'd never thought about step out moments till I watched... maybe a vid of yours on Fallout New Vegas? Anyway, they now always catch my attention, and I'd love to see some of your favorites!

Still playing and having fun. Rolaf is my companion too. Love this game! Timeless. Bought the book set and plan to read this winter.
The year is 2037 and here it is Skyrim Super Legendary Ultra Deluxe Limited Dragonbutthole Super Extraordinary Extreme Edition Part Uno!

Skyrim I believe is a long placeholder for es6. Which I think will be LEGENDARY.
All good art takes time and ❤
The Danganronpa music in the beginning got me lol.

I play Skyrim like reading a book. A book I have to read once a year at least. Skyrim and even Oblivion are total forms of therapy for me.
Nobody ever stops playing Skyrim, you just take extended breaks once in a while.

Who else recognizes the music at 1:45 due to Matty's endless recommendation? lol
Haven’t watched one of your videos since fallout 4’s release. I’m still loving the content! Can’t wait for Elder Scrolls content in the future
That intro had me rolling on the floor laughing! 🤣

remember that Skyrim Very Special edition trailer 😅
the part that killed me was the actor saying the ice breath shout while playing on a Samsung Smart Refrigerator 😭
also Todd Howard said once, if you want us to stop releasing Skyrim, stop buying it. I mean he ain't wrong lol
No offense Matty but I feel like I see this video every few months, lol.
You know I'm something of a scientist myself!! - Skyrim.
I played this game 1 complete time, I have tried soooo many times to get back into it, after all these years its too shallow of a game
Been going through a lot of shit this past month and a half some pretty heavy stuff. This game has been my saving grace.
These days I just like making historical characters in Skyrim and try to role play them as best I can. My most recent Skyrim playthrough has me going thru an imperial opportunist storyline as Julius Caesar
I hate how they said that they don't want to re-release fallout 3 but they keep re-releasing skyrim
Every other game i wouldn't make fun off. By this rate I'm sure Skyrim will take over the world and send it's Terminator drones on to humanity shortly after...
Becuase most modern gamers have the brain of a fucking pee good luck getting then to do quests without quest markers or being told where to go
Never stopped playing. Mods renew the game. Funnily enough I haven't seen the vanilla start in years, thanks for the memories.
Boy, that escalated quickly. I mean, that really got out of hand fast. - Ron Burgundy.

You know that UA-cam phenomenon of Ginosaji.
In part two of that... movie he will have a set of Skyrim boxes instead of silver spoons.
After all theese years and I didn't realize those sounds marked the end of a dungeon! 🤯
I turn the music off as pre warning of attacks and not being able to hear footsteps doesn’t help a khajiit assassin.

I never played this game and every year I say I will play it this year... and repeat
Very special edition is an actual thing?
Despite the fact that Skyrim has and is overstaying its welcome I still love this game. I’m having a lot of fun playing the anniversary edition.
Every few years I come back and check it out. I recently started with mods and just ended up with a half naked harem following me I don’t know how it happened 😅
The Slow descent into maddness must not be understated. Surely this is Sheogorath approved.
Heard they're reforming the Dawnguard. Vampire hunters or something, in the old fort near Riften. Might consider joining up myself.
Fully modded Skyrim is one of the greatest games ever
Honestly, I’ve been screwing around with the Beyond Skyrim/ Reach mods. Bruma, Eastern High Rock, Moonpath into a small part of Elswyre, plus a mountain path into a Morrowind hideout with fresh new loot items available. I’ve expanded as far as my XBox Series will let me on the anniversary version. But then there’s the “Fantastical Beasts” mod, the fantasy creature mod pack, horror creature mod pack, and another thousand hours of my life gone out of the year. 😢😂

Beyond Reach is damn underrated. Some great characters.
3:58 so this happened to you too the exact same thing happened to me
Great review. Thanks
