This reminds me of some choices I have made in my life. Not sitting in an office to earn money is one. To wake up in a place like that is such a reward. We are not so isolated, but my son has bought an old farmhouse in Piedmont that will keep me busy for many years. I hope you are enjoying your choices.

Hi Travis...My suggestion is by no means timely, but I think that if you are clearing an area of rocks, it would save you time and effort if you park your machine close by and extend the boom with the bucket to a position that allow you to throw the rocks into the bucket. Once filled it would be easy to transport the load to a collection area. Enjoy the work and the process. Wish I was young to tackle such renovation. Godspeed!

    Hey Travis
Just found your channel by chance.
What a big project you have ahead of you, it will be exciting to see it come to life for all of us watching.
It would however be nice to know what your vision is and maybe as an intro into the video if you can talk to us and explain what your plans are for the day and end with another exit chat.
Having the text there is great especially for the deaf community but some talk with the text would be even better.
Looking forward to seeing your stone house come to life.

I believe your chainsaw needs sharpening and because your house repair is of a stone house in Italy, it would be wise to employ an Italian stone mason to give you sage advice on how to proceed properly with the repairs. Sage advice learned at the very start will afford you to avoid costly mistakes and setbacks in the months ahead.

I have started seeing a lot of yourtube channels they all fantastic, but I feel I'm chasing a different type of home to others.

Great to see Episode 2. The chainsaw noise sequences were horrifically loud but that’s only my personal opinion and not a criticism. I see 1887 carved in one of the blocks, that’s amazing and cool. Do the blocks rest on some kind of foundation or are they just built on soil up? A rake would be good for tackling them brambles in future - longer reach and will pull out more at a time. I have a feeling I will be watching your videos for years to come. Thank you

    • @TravisRowlands
      @TravisRowlands  4 місяці тому +10

Hey yes built on a mix of stone and huge rock 🪨 boulders going deep down Beneath the ground the geotechnical report, states safe and can continue with out modern foundation but it has not yet been decided my end on that as yet I want to dig in the house area first before deciding ,ps I broke my damn rake on them brambles some are so thick
      Kind regards Travis

    So who is Travis?
Are you staying nearby temporarily, full-time?
How are you managing the logistics.
Most of us can easily understand the escape from all the craziness that's going on in the Western World cities now.....rather to keep busy in nature and recreating what was so painstakingly built in the past....
That said it's a daunting pivot..
Some of us now to old, some too faraway, some just not talented enough...
So yes, who is this Travis that is taking the leap?
