Today we get to review THE KING of G-Shocks, GXW-56, the biggest G-Shock of its time. Traditional square shape in an oversized pumped up body that has additional protection in the form of Alpha Gel. This was the first model ever to use it.
Solar, atomic and with usual Casio goodies this is THE King to get.
Sadly it is too large for my wrist, but maybe one day when I get older and FAT, I'll get one 😄

That G-Shock is just MONSTROUS!! I had no idea Casio had such a beautiful time piece. I think i'm in love with this monster i know i'm not gonna stop until you are mine. (:
G-Shocks always look cool even the biggest ones. They automatically get a pass on their size. 👍
The Gx 56 always looks better than the timid tiny ones for meek geeks

I just received my gxw-56 today after seeing your video a few days ago.. i totally love the look and feel of the watch.. im glad i went with the positive display this time as all of my g shocks have negative displays, im enjoying this look.. Thank you again for all your reviews..
I can't wear it because my wrist is too small but I bought it anyway because it will be a great addition to my G-SHOCK collection. Besides, I can wear it when no one else is in the room--I love it! Thanks for your review, you convinced me to buy one.

Just got a GX56 (non MB6) at a discount price. It is ridiculously big, but I absolutely love it! Wrist is quite thin and for such a monster I have to say it fits quite nicely.
i have the exact same king. really love it.
As of today it is $338.00 on Amazon. I bought mine in May of 2021 and paid $280.00. I like the dual time on the front screen. It's a very big watch but it is really awesome. I have named mine G-Rex. Sometimes I call it Godzilla, either way it is definitely one of my favorite G-Shocks. Wait a minute all my G-shocks are great. I cant make my mind up.

I have the negative face all black. I hate that I can't see the time quick I have to stare and think is it 5 or 6 o'clock. I bought it because I need a tough watch for my work. I'll try to buy this one someday

People have told me I should add a King to my collection. If I had to do that, it would definitely be this model. Even though I have a tiny 5 and a half inch wrist, I'd still wear this watch for days, especially since the squares are my favorite G-Shocks.

Ending up buying a extra gxw 56. Bought a gx 56 and didn't knew it didn't has atomic time keeping lol.
I don't think it's to big. Fits my wrist very well.
Yeah, the regular GX-56 lacks atomic timekeeping, but the GXW-56 includes it.
There's not much difference in price between the models, at least where I am.
I own only one gshock.. I love them.

a ribeio GD 350 is a great watch. Love the one push count down that vibrates. Illumination is great. Can’t tell you how many times the 5 seconds of light saved me in a dark spot.

@@avelinoribeiro I want to get something new, but nothing matches the functions. I like how the advertising on the watch is not visible from a distance. I with the solar square showed the time in the stop watch function (watch geek agrees)! This king is just too big for me. I might just get a GW 5600 and deal with the hard to push buttons.
I have the original GX-56 (positive display) and a coveted GX-56BG (black and gold with gold screws...which my jeweller unfortunately broke). Love this watch and it's made for a wrist my size....a smaller square just looks silly.
Did your jeweller pay you any compensation for breaking your watch?
It's a beast of a watch but still pretty cool!
I just bought one because Amazon cancel my order for the gravity Master so I got the king of g shock and instead. An And don't worry I'm a big guy I can rock it All Man for the lady's but spin my money on me😂 PS5 will be mine soon as well. Giving all three of my other G-Shocks in to my too nephews and my niece

There are other colors especially if you go for the non atomic version
I have the red and black version there are other colour variants but I think they where all the original production run.
Mine is gx but looks the same as one in video I've replaced strap got mine over ten years ago second hand I'm 6ft4 so watch works for me
Great content! I just ordered a multi band version in black and red. But I am a bit skeptical since there keep up coming stories about this watch always fogging up. Since this should be beater watch for outdoor/water /mountainbiking I am not sure if I should really keep it. How are your experiences with this model?

This one started fogging up as well after about 2 years, but it wasn't bad and it doesn't seem to affect the functionality.
Apparently it has a double glass and that space between fogs up sometimes, but there is no moisture getting inside where the movement is, so it won't harm the watch
@@WatchGeek thanks for the reply. So does the Condensation go away quickly? If it does this would even be up to spec by Casio . The Statement that it shouldnt stay that way and you shouldnt See massive amount of moisture inside the case (for example drops). I am considering sending it back, but I've read that there are other G Shock models that can show such a thing.
@@nikonn90For some reason the squares are more prone to this than all other G-Shocks.
I'm not sure if that's because squares are much more popular, and therefore more likely to have issues raised for them.
I'd avoid this G-Shock if you're concerned about fogging issues.

This is probably the only square I don't need an adapter for but they only offer it with the stupid negative display in Canada. 😞
Woah... I've got a 6&1/4" wrist, & thought I'd never find a G-shock I could wear until I came across my G-100.
And lately, I've been thinking about a 5600 series digital.
But, this new one? Lol-- I don't think so...
I wish Casio would take some of their 'feminized' Baby-Gs & market them to men who can't wear their behemoth products.
That's essentially what my G-100 is, and they'd make more money off of me that way...

I do like this but a bit too big for my puny 7 inch wrists, even my Rangeman is pushing it, wears well though.
I've never seen one in person, but it seems to be about the same size as a GA700. Am I wrong, or is everyone complaining about the "ridiculous" size of the GWX-56 for nothing??

Wondering if you would be able to shed any light on following:
Do you see the "greyish" solar panel border lines that go all the way around the edge of the watch, which act as the border enclosing all the solar panel compartments, these borderlines all look to be the same greyish colour all the way around. A friend has a brand new GX-BB56-1DR, except in his watch, some parts of the solar border lines are greyish in colour and some parts of them are copper coloured?
What is your opinion of that? It does not seem to be normal from seeing all the other GX-56BB-1's on yt etc?? Many thanks.
It's a shame this G-Shock has fogging issues, otherwise it would be a kickass digi watch for big wrists.

Just picked one of these up...kind of disappointed for the price. Buttons are hard to press. Seems like a cheap and basic watch to me.
I have been looking forward to you getting one of these on the channel. I have 8 inch wrists so it is on my wish list for a while. I just can’t decide between the green display you have or the negative display version.
Go for the positive!!! They are always easier to read, and in case of this model it actually looks cooler than the negative.
Style wise, this green one is one of the best looking positive displays I have seen, it just goes perfectly with this watch

I've had both and after a while I've sold the negative and kept the positive display. The yellowish/green display is in my opinion one of the best looking colour of the g-shocks displays and the coordination with the rest of the watch is just 👌.

I love this channel,but I hate g shock reviews,just a nother quartz watch,that I had in middle school and threw in to the garbage later,I only like mechanical wctches,the ones that will get passed from generation to generation,not a plastic/digital/quartz watch that will not stand the test of time,bcs when smart watch prices go under 100$,the g shocks will be forgotten cause they are just a better version and have more gimicky functions for people who don't realy like a well decorated movement,blued hands,real comlications
Sry for my bad english,g shocks are ok,but if you have only digital/quartz watches in your collection you have 0 knowlege for watchei

To he honest g shocks can easily Outlast mechanical watches as there is no service needed, you just replace straps and sometimes the bezel.
But mechanical watches have to be serviced or they fall apart beyond repair. Unfortunately people rarely service mechanical watches unless there is a problem which is wrong
