As an INFP I really appreciate your insights to different types a being an INFP I get it easily. I’m an old lady and read up on Carl Jung many years ago. I knew I was introverted and intuitive but unclear on other aspects until recent years. I’ve enjoyed all of your posts more than any other on Utube. One thing you haven’t mentioned mentioned in the 4 or 5 posts is that an INFP and INFJ require a lot of alone time to work things out and just explore. Over the long years I’ve been around I can say that I learned how to use my brain in each mode. But I am always glad to learn new things that a good teacher can offer. Sherman, thanks for sharing your insights and keep doing more posts.
hey! as an not native english speaker i'd like to say that your english is very easy to understand! it helps a lot but unfortunately i zoned out in the last part so now i am as lost as i was before. i loved the vid tho ♡ -from (probably) an isfp
This was very helpful. Turns out I'm such a Ne-Si user. Today someone told me "hey, you're my fountain of ideas, help me with this", if that doesn't indicate Ne idk what does haha. Nice editing btw!
Hahaha every time I watch a video in order to understand MBTI types more, I always end up feeling like I understand them less by the end of it. xD I think I'm an INFP, but I question it whenever I hear other INFPs say things like you did when you heard the sound of the airplanes in this video. Or the cup question. When it comes to things like that I get really "sensory" and I'm like "It's a cup. Stop being weird about it." Or "It's an airplane, obviously." But I do like to explore theories (aliens, etc), and philosophy. I'm not sure if my Ne-Si is just really balanced, or if I'm actually an ISFP. But I can't imagine having enough Se to be an ISFP... I'm completely nonathletic, a little clumsy, and frequently find bruises or scrapes that I don't remember getting (sometimes I remember but it will take a little while of thinking about it). Also, knowing that Ne types tend to get diagnosed with ADD or ADHD more often--what if you're actually an ISFP with ADD? How do you tell the difference? Is it just in the content of the things that you get distracted by? Like an ISFP with ADD would get distracted by things in their physical environment, while an INFP would get distracted by their own thoughts? What if it was something like a TV show that distracted them? Does getting distracted by a TV with a Sci-Fi show on count as a sensing distraction or an intuitive distraction, or both? Typology is so confusing man. @.@
ISTPs are EXTREMELY well represented in physics, even theoretical physics. Also Biology, I've noticed. I personally think Ti lends itself VERY well to understanding natural phenomena, since IMO Te is more of a human construct. (Number math, Te, VS System Logic, Ti)

Awesome video, but people might get confused about the definition of Extroverted Sensing (Se), it’s not just about receiving information, it’s for sure related to short-term memory, but it’s more about showing things and giving experiences and sensations to others, with Introverted Sensing (Si) it’s about receiving information and storing it (long-term memory), it’s looking for new experiences too, but not really focused on showing others, it’s about receiving sensations and experiences from others
honestly, im still in the same, i like to train my body and track the progress of how much stronger i am as i like explore new ideas and concepts no matter how bizarre or weird they can get, i spend a good amount of time thinking about the past specially i compare other people's past with mine at the same time that i spend another good amount of time figuring out things, connecting the dots and go trought the essence of those concepts. what im sure about is that i am an IxTP so that also makes me think if something i mention before could be influenced by my Ti Dom
Ugh! I thought, "FINALLY! YES!" INFP was making so much sense... and then you started down the other path and *bangs head on nearest wall* I see, in myself, a lot of ISFP too rofl. I always say I live in the moment, though I used to live in the past in my youth. After hearing you, I realize I still frequent the past. Even when it comes to simple things: "I'm going to eat x, y, and z because I know I like it and I know it agrees with me." I know that, because I'm looking to the past :D I tend to eat the same thing every single day for weeks on end until I just burn out and have to eat the next thing I like until burnout. BUT, I always drive the same way. Give me the back roads because people are easier to predict than the Truckers at sudden red lights and the deer (My hubby and I have a sort of morbid bet about which route will cause me to get into an accident first. He prefers the interstate which goes by our house.) I also see patterns and look for possibilities more than I give myself credit. When nothing was helping chronic, severe back pain, I turned a desk into my bed. It's worked out for some 7 years now :D So, my quest continues. You've helped explain things a great deal, though, so thank you
"I was asked if I spend time in the past, I said no. Then later, I was thinking about things that happened before, as I often do, and realized I lied." Fellow Ne-Si middle slot, INTP, and I agree and understand this, lol. How does an Ne pref develop anyway, besides analyzing the past??? This is why they're on the same axis. I used to test INTJ, and maybe when I was younger I was trying more styles, but it's funny to think back on how I thought I had a million-year perspective... when really all I had was an interest in history and intuition skills to attempt to predict how the present will change based on that.
I got INFP in tests alot but cant see the Si memory or Ne ideas in myself. Reading about ISFP and Ni is more me but I seem to not use Se that well. Reading a room like INFJ do is someting I do too. I can be in the moment and love exercise but isnt very much for sports in groups systems. Just walking a dog, ride a bike or be in nature is fine for me.
I really hate how people try to say isfps avoid using ni, that's actually just to make the intuitive types feel unique and special so they can be marketed towards. Isfps get mistyped as intjs like a larger percentage of the time than not.... Simply for this reason.... It's annoying me.. because I just wanna hear other people out and learn, and people just abuse how few people into mbti are isfps. I just want all the information I can get, and I want to see different insights on it... But people like *frank James cough cough** just say some vague bullshit like "they don't like abstract ideas and they don't like to think and they don't like to this and that and this and that and they are In the moment and have values" it sucks for isfps it really does. We use Ni in a unique way and when not properly developed it can seriously mess up an isfp... Isfps need this information more than a lot of people do... And they are the last to get it because they don't make money. I recommend to other isfps to watch intj related content more than isfp stuff. People will mislead you, and tell you your something your not, leading you to mistype, or just neglect your functions... It's literally evil... It seriously pisses me off..
From my perspective, I was mistyped and even mistyped myself as an INFP for a long time. It wasn't until a few months ago that I began to question if I had made the right call. Much like yourself, I have absolutely no problem with abstract ideas or even the concept of a sort of fantasy land. I don't personally have a fantasy land, that was my first clue. But I understood the concept as to why they had it. It's not like I completely lack the ability to comprehend stuff just because I don't have Ne/Si. For myself, it has been a struggle just trying to get to the bottom of why I felt so out of place under the INFP umbrella. Was it just because I'm unhealthy? Is it because of trauma? Some aspect I'm overlooking? And you see, that's where Ni comes in. This was how I realized I was in fact ISFP. Because my brain is naturally trying to narrow down the possibilities. Not just some grand scheme of what life looks like 20 years down the road. I can't do that anymore because it makes me overly anxious and that is due to trauma. So for me, it wasn't even about the damn system or what's rare or popular. No, I wanted to use it for it's INTENDED purpose. To make my experience in this life better. So that one misleading aspect cost me about 3 years of my life. Just trying to figure out why I was so different from other INFPs. Why I seemed to view things differently than other INFPs. You know, this whole conclusion that I'm the problem. Not the typing, me. Although I will say, I also harbor some hatred for Mr. Frank James considering so many look at those little skits and develop the preconceived notions that "oh, this is how [insert type here] looks". In the very least unconsciously
Is there any IxTP who is still confused like me. Is s/he N or S? because we are inside our heads all the time analyzing and thinking about theories and philosophical concepts. In the meantime, being not clumsy and aware most of the time of our surroundings especially around people! I’m really confused 👀
I'm only clumsy when I need to NOT be. I'm very aware of people around me and how their actions are going to impact me or other people on an individual level - people walking out of a door without looking, standing in front of the ticket gate, standing too close to other people... drives me nuts.
do you know anything about Sailor Moon? If so what would you type her and any of the other characters that you know? I am just wondering since you are good at typing.
Infp here. I kinda fell into the Touhou fandom (great music btw). Had been trying to figure out who falls under which mbti type. There's one character I find highly relatable and empathetic that I'm pretty sure is an isfp.
Ok Im confused. Im an Infp but I do not relate to the “ high energy throwing spaghetti at the wall metaphor? I usually experience stuff just connecting together like I will be doing something mundane and its like those things just connect and suddenly I just see the connections almost like an 8 ball how the words just float into view??? And Im usually saying to myself why didnt I see that before...
Hmm... I didn't use to see it like a high energy spaghetti party. But I realized that I'm actively searching for connections by trying out different combinations. Not really "clearing my mind" or "focusing on a symbol or question until an insight comes" - which is how I understand Ni to be working.
@@GeekPsychology It usually shows up in me via weird puns/jokes, listening to a piece of music and connecting it to a story idea I had, and zoning out and drawing characters and plotting out a five page fantasy epic in my notebook.
