1.TRZ stands for 1 Tehnicki Remontni Zavod. What more or less means: Technical overhauling institute Nr.1. One of the factories which refurbed captured and damaged rifles from WII and before.
The small circular dents are likely from the firing pin being pushed into the wood to disassemble the bolt completely. The 24/47 does not have the K98k's bolt disassembly tool/feature. Your rile looks like it has two different kinds of wood on it. The stock might be beech, but the handguard looks like oak. I will also concur that I have had nothing but satisfaction from Empire Arms over the 10+ years I've bought rifles from him. Their stuff is good and reasonably priced.
That is a very good point about the bolt disassembly. I felt the same about the wood, thinking it might be two different types as well. I'll have it cleaned up properly here soon and show it a little better. I think Empire has been good to many collectors of the years. Thanks for watching and for the insightful comment!
The ‘odd’ is for sure the refurb crew’s wood repairs. Man that thing is pretty sweet! Wish I had one!
