Yugo Mausers are generally very well kept! And yea so many different models to accumulate for a Yugo collection.

@@ReadinessReviews you do so much as it is, it's a passion that requires either a big bank roll or lots of time to find the best deals. I think you're doing marvelous for the silly rules that have been emplaced, to bad we can't share with each other where to find the best deals are.

The VZ-24 cleaning rod on the 24/52's is a little long so K98 style bayonets don't lock on unless the cleaning rod is removed. The M48 Bayonets do fit though.

My local gun shop had a Yugo Mauser for sale recently, covered in cosmoline, no numbers matching and it was going for $700. It was pretty well beat up, but it sold. I've actually seen German K98's for sale in roughly the same condition as the Yugos at least here lately for about the same price.

Yeah that sounds a little steep. I figure they are a 500-600 rifle these days in good shape.

Thanks for covering the M24/52c! I have one, and it's a bit more obscure compared to other Mauser variants. I have a (prettier) Russian Capture 98K, but my Yugo Mauser is the better shooter. Great video!

I also own a M24/52c. I bought it at a gunshow in 2019. I was STUNNED at how nice it was! I cleaned it up and decided to make it into a hunting rifle. Now I didn't drill tap the rifle, I instead bought a NDT mount from brass stacker. I put an Acushot scout scope on it, got it sighted in at 100 yard. That rifle season I bagged a big beautiful 8 point. It's an awesome rifle that I love to use!

Just found this video. Nice job and good info. I got my M24/52C in 2016, was my first Mauser type rifle. It's the only milsurp I own (of 23) that I can't date.
Like you said, excellent condition and a real shooter. P.S. My M48 is pretty too. 😁

Helloooooooo, RR ! Agreed, nice rifle. The Mauser, is an exceptional rifle. Great action, accuracy, ETC. Great history on these firearms. You are well versed, and , knowledgeable. It has been A while, since I have fired this type of rifle. First few shots, Bolt action, seem, lol, shorter, than I remember. Thought, slightly longer stroke. I am old forgive me. Ending of review, seems like I used to remember, sorry. Just the view, from your camera. Peace, John.

You said it all. Well, almost. A couple more things you may not know about this rifle and the Yugo Mauser in general.
    1) They were not just been taken out, refurbished and put back into the creates. In the period between the end of WW2 and 1978 any male aged 15 attended "Defence and Protection" class (That as an integral part of their education). Teenagers trained to shoot, disassemble/reassemble and maintain their weapon. The first generation used, as you may guess the m24 and m98 rifles. That was the preparation for their (mandatory) enlistment into the YPA - the Yugoslav People's Army and part of the larger ONO plan strategy: A total war plan aimed at the defence of Yugoslavia that would allow to deploy up to 8.000.000 fighters without notice in case of an attack (Anyone aged between 15 and 55 knew how to operate a rifle, use grenades and set booby traps). A strategic nightmare for any aggressor.
    2) During the 90's conflict, these rifles were actually used during the fighting. Many converted them to sniper rifles or battle rifles and also developed new ones from them. At the end of the war, they just made their weapons disappear and used as hunting rifles.

Great video buddy, both gun review to history part, im from Serbua btw, i want to add Zastava Arms factory ehich used to produce all yugo mausers was the only that i know tht used original mauser tooling machines which nazis stole and sent them to germany but returned at end of the ww2, Zastava Arms and Paul Mauser had great relations tht goes back to 19th century, also one Zastava engineer married his granddaughter lol

I HAVE THIS EXACT SAME RIFLE ( 24/48C ) AND AFTER WATCHING YOUR FINE VIDEO, I THOUGHT I REMEMBERED THAT MY YUGO 24/48 BAYONET, AND MY CZECH VZ24 BOTH FIT ( AND LOCK DOWN CORRECTLY ) THIS RIFLE. SO I DUG THEM OUT AND BOTH DO FIT ! A STANDARD GERMAN K98 BAYONET ALSO FITS AND LOCKS DOWN CORRECTLY. IF YOURS DON'T, TRY TAKING THE CLEANING ROD OFF AND TRYING THE VZ24 AGAIN.... IF IT NOW FITS, YOU MAY HAVE THE WRONG CLEANING ROD ( TOO LONG, OR THICK ) MINE MEASURES 14 3/4 INCHES. IT'S WORTH A TRY. THAT IS ALL....OUT !

Czeck Mausers are the best no matter what country they are from. Some South American models are rough because of the humid climate, That one looks great. take old cereal boxes and a can of orange marker spray paint and make some decent targets.

Czech rifles are gorgeous and extremely well made in all respects. I wish I had a rifle like yours, but at least, I have another famous Czech rifle: the Persian Mauser, AKA Brno 98/29. I can actually see some resemblance between your rifle and mine. Biggest difference is mine is longer (29" barrel).

There are 2 fn m24 rifles at a shop near me one in dog crap condition and one with fantastic metal but sporter stock cut down no 24/47 mark only m24 on both. Both are $300 I’ve been mulling it over still not sure it’s worth it for either

    • @ReadinessReviews
      @ReadinessReviews  3 роки тому

If the one that is in rough shape still had a nice bore I'd go 300 on it. I'm not sure what M24 stocks are going for but it could be worth restoring that sporter bud I'd try to get them to come down on the price.

I had a M24/47 Yugo, my second rifle after I gave my M44 Mosin away to a family friend.....which I foolishly tried to put a scope on. I had some trouble with it cause of the firing pin, but after fixing it, and using Winchester ammo, it did well. Then I sold it to a friend of my Step Father, whom he keeps in contact, and I don't know how it's doing. Current rifle I own is a Colombian Contract M1950 .30-06 Mauser.....and it looked okay, but the last idiot who owned it messed up the barrel alignment, and it had a cracked extractor. Replaced the said part, but I'm unsure how it will work.
