Cheap style guides from different cheaper retailers would make for such a great series. How to look good on a budget from Amazon, Walmart, Target, H&am etc!
Well, if you want a classic look, don’t get your pants shortened to show any ankle, I think that’s just a fashion thing, it will go away and you’ll look ridiculous and won’t be able to fix it again.
I disagree with your statement, when you look at photos of casual styles especially in the 60's trim tailored trousers with a hem just short of the ankle has always been in.
⭐⭐⭐⭐ Finally, someone comes out with a reasonable outfit that won't break the bank plus looks great. Only Alpha could have managed to demonstrate such handsome look and shared with us his secret.
I NEVER buy clothes of any kind online. I have to feel and touch and TRY ON clothes to know if it feels and looks good. Can't do that from a pic online.
Hi Alpha Love your content living in the Uk 🇬🇧 you add a lot of insight and knowledge from a different perspective for me. Just noticed when you mentioned the shoes you referred to them as Oxfords? I don’t know if it’s different in the U S but I would call them a Derby because they have a open lacing system. The Oxford has a closed lacing system and meets at the bottom under the vamp of the toe box. Don’t know if it’s different over the big water please let me know if am wrong. Cheers Fella
Alpha, I agree with a lot of these points! I think the exposed ankle looks good with the polo, but doing so with a suit can actually cheapen the ensemble, and look like you borrowed your little brother's suit. That's not to say you *must* have a break on your trousers -- quite the contrary; I believe no break, but having the trouser just kiss the top of the shoe is the cleanest and arguably the most timeless length one can go for! When your wrists or collarbone are covered, your ankles should be covered, too. Regarding your sponsorship, I'm afraid none of those shoes are Oxfords, they are Derbies/Blüchers. Oxfords have a closed lacing system, while Derbies/Blüchers have an open lacing system -- actually at 6:47, the black shoe you're holding _is_ an Oxford! I understand that it's just a sponsorship and it's what the company calls them, but words have meanings (otherwise nothing would mean anything). That being said, you're absolutely right about how it's all about timelessness, and how a timeless article that looks good to-day, looked good 60 years ago, and will look good 60 years from now!
Hey man I just wanted to say thank you for all your videos they’re really helpful and informative especially for a young man like myself (I’m 17) I know a lot of your viewers are probably older cats like in their 30s and 40s but as a young man stepping into adulthood it’s really good to know these things and use them to better prepare myself for the future! Really appreciate it man!
*I read about a man in his 50s who started investing in stocks and real estate and then retired in 2 years with over $6 million and that is my main goal and I would really appreciate any tips and advice on how to achieve this goal. in 5 years. Especially with the current economic crisis all over the world. This is still a good time to invest in gold, silver and digital currencies BTC, ETH, SOL...*
Wow. This entire thread has so completely convinced me with how natural the replies have been. So many people benefiting from this and all pouring into an alpham video is so believable. Maybe I should just hop on board
One main colour with a small amount of a pop colours is another way to look out together. You can be wearing black joggers, a black t-shirt, and black shoes, but each has a small amount of red and suddenly you look very stylish.
Picked up a Burberry blazer at an estate sale in an upscale area. 25 bucks, then had the sleeves shortened for another 30 bucks. Wear it with jeans and nice shirt, get compliments from ladies all the time.
Great video and great advice! I have a tailor and will be using her expertise more. Thrift stores are good, but it is hard for me to find good stuff there. I need to try visiting them more to see if I can find a good treasure. I need to look in other spots. The lapel is something I haven't considered.
My new rayban wayfarers are a dark tortoiseshell. Got a great deal on them & they’ll never go out of style. Would previously have gone for black for “safety”.
Yes people's, you do not need to spend a lot of money for clothes. And shoes, built, watches and jewelry. You can look fly in a whole outfit under a hundred. Just make sure your clothing not too tight or too loose, you good.
Alpha, did you ever do an adult sneaker video or something of the sort? I’m approaching 40 and I looking for suggestions for nice sneakers that fit my age. I’ve seen videos titled what not to wear, looking for a what to wear video?
there was a kid who went to high school with me who would wear tailored suits to school everyday and he looked alot older and more mature than everyone else
What online tailor retailer would do a “test run” shirt for $20? I don’t like buying online because if it doesn’t fit right, then I’m stuck with 5 shirts that don’t fit right. And these custom tailors are soo freaking expensive, like $100 for a plain white Oxford. If I knew they would fit PERFECT, I wouldn’t mind paying that, but maybe 1 in 10 shirts fit me perfectly. I’m a tweener, really high end of medium, large ALWAYS fits loose.
They probably don't last for a long time, but for the price you can have a nice variety of colors/styles for the total amount a single high end pair of shoes would cost.. And since you would be rotating through them quite often, that will help their longevity some..
Alpha, I respect you and have been watching for 10+ years. But the quality of videos lately has been deteriorating…these are 10 tips that are picked from various different previous videos and not related in any cohesive way, making it feel a bit random. Including the sponsor which is of cheap shoes.
Good advice aaron. Except those shoes aren't oxfords, they're derbies. I hate it when shoe companies mislabel shoes and use oxfords to describe derbies. It adds to the confusion. Anyways, like i said, good vid
I love this video but when I buy clothes and shoes I am buying to last a long time. So can you buy quality items that won’t break the bank or are you sacrificing quality for the cheaper price?
I like the white shirt look. I have yet to find one that is thick enough so that it doesn’t sheer and make me look like I was in a wet t-shirt contest ☹️. Any recommendations?
Yo alpha I got a banquet at school Wednesday I got the black turtle neck navy blue slim fit tux Deer stages shoes Shades gold and blue watch and a chain Is it drippy?
I was watching another video a few days ago with similar ideas but hevwas a business guy and said men in business should always carry decent priced cigars because it can break the ice when making a deal . I say cigars yuck
I bought a pair of Bruno Marc sneakers. Nice looking. But poor quality including the imitation leather. Perhaps the fabric ones are better. But you often get what you pay for with footwear. Think you can pull off inexpensive shirts, jeans, etc., but inexpensive shoes scream inexpensive shoes. Invest in decent footwear that will last much longer than cheap ones. And perhaps pull off a low-high wardrobe.

You should do more of these videos Alpha.

I love when you make fashion videos, I’m always trying to improve my style. Thanks for the content alpha.
Well, if you want a classic look, don’t get your pants shortened to show any ankle, I think that’s just a fashion thing, it will go away and you’ll look ridiculous and won’t be able to fix it again.
True. Because this style looks low class for me. It will fade away.
Yup, trousers too short. Dress shoes with ankles showing just a no no.
💯
How to look shorter than even possible with a bad outfit, lighting, backdrop and camera angle....I mean seriously. Just wow!!!
I disagree with your statement, when you look at photos of casual styles especially in the 60's trim tailored trousers with a hem just short of the ankle has always been in.
Mens warehouse clearance has produced a few gems for me.
What should I expect per pant or short for the clearance rack there?
@@s2ertf perhaps a polo style shirt or chino pants. i also found some nice joggers as well.
⭐⭐⭐⭐ Finally, someone comes out with a reasonable outfit that won't break the bank plus looks great. Only Alpha could have managed to demonstrate such handsome look and shared with us his secret.
Target has some really nice clothes and shoes that are affordable. Their brand Goodfellow is great.
I NEVER buy clothes of any kind online. I have to feel and touch and TRY ON clothes to know if it feels and looks good. Can't do that from a pic online.
0:41 - Bruh I know you know it but it's a derby not an oxford 😁
Love videos like this. Saving some cash for a good looking outfit is awesome. Everyone appreciates saving money to look good

That’s correct in the US as well. Unfortunately, a lot of people call all dressier shoes oxfords. Drives me bananas! Lol

And wear socks with them! As in proper socks that don't show any ankle.

I discovered Bruno Marc last summer. Just bought a black oxford. Also a white and brown pair of sneakers.
Been seeing Bruno Marc shoes for years, they're not all that dude
Those shoes are derby, not oxford.

She has really made a name for herself and I can Vogue for Ms. Amanda Ladd, a certified broker with ASIC and FINRA approval.
Wow. This entire thread has so completely convinced me with how natural the replies have been. So many people benefiting from this and all pouring into an alpham video is so believable. Maybe I should just hop on board
I have 2 pairs of the Bruno Marc Oxfords, I have a pair each of the black and brown. Love them both!
Dude, are you expecting a flood? Pants be looking almost like a three quarter (3/4) and You got that tailored which means You made it that way lol!
Thats a Derby, not an Oxford. Cool video though 😎, expensive doesn't always mean better 👍🏽

The grey suit would look so much nicer with black shoes. I never wear brown except with white or blue
Great video and great advice! I have a tailor and will be using her expertise more. Thrift stores are good, but it is hard for me to find good stuff there. One of your best videos in awhile, thanks!

Where can I get the test shirt for $20?

Lets cut those shoes in half and see what its made out of 🤣
It works when you need a good looking set of shoes on a budget. Not everyone can afford to spend a lot or save like students.
Alpha: NEVER wear fake leather!
Also Alpha: these are great!
They probably don't last for a long time, but for the price you can have a nice variety of colors/styles for the total amount a single high end pair of shoes would cost.. And since you would be rotating through them quite often, that will help their longevity some..
I’ll never wear capris
Thanks, always learn something from your tips.
Brown is for casual outfits.
Excellent video . Great information
Thank you sir.

Wow thank you Alpha!
Love this video. One question, are those brown shoes Oxfords or derbies? They look more like derbies.
Great Video. Thank you for posting.

"Free" "had them tailored" ... do you see the problem with that Statement?
3:57 Where did you get the shirt though?
Good advice aaron. Except those shoes aren't oxfords, they're derbies. I hate it when shoe companies mislabel shoes and use oxfords to describe derbies. It adds to the confusion. Anyways, like i said, good vid
