2:13 rest well,James Bond.
"Mr. Warmth"... Don Rickles❤
Greatness that will remain with us forever...🥺😥❤
Glad that they honored June Foray, she did so many animated character voices (many used to be shown in theaters) in Looney Tunes, and Bullwinkle and Rocky. WB never gave her voice credit.
I'm so glad they included June Foray. She was a voice acting legend.
Sarah Barker yeah me 2
Sarah Barker yeah me too.If they didn't,If I win the Academy Award,I would boycott them.
I know. So sad that the lady that voiced Rocky the Flying Squirrel died.
Seems they missed a lot this year. Bill Paxton, Tobe Hooper and Powers Boothe are the ones that pop in my head right off the bat
I was looking for him. I missed the Oscars last year (due to a cranky 1 year old) and just caught up with the memoriam. Bill's characters were always so fun and made B and A list films all that much better. To make a good steak dinner, you gotta have salt and he was the salt of the Earth. Pity they couldn't find room for him.
Paxson and Boothe I thought of. Stan Lee as well.
@@PolishKnightUSA He passed away just one day before the Academy Awards were held, so they didn't have the time for editing the memoriam segment. That's what I guess, but Bill Paxton was mentioned right at the beginning of Jennifer Garner's speech if I remember correctly.
and chester bennington
OMG! HAS BILL PAXTON GONE HIGH?
AND ADAM WEST DIED TOO? COME ON!
2:44 Haruo Nakajaka R.I.P. YOU’LL BE IN THE HEARTS OF ALL GODZILLA FANS
R.I.P Haruo Nakajima. The original Godzilla and the best actor on the list along with Harry Dean Stanton.
CromLaughsAtYourFourWinds they also left out Isao Takahata, co-founder of Studio Ghibli, Producer, Director.
True. The man who first portrayed Earth's Mightiest Monster.
Im sorry but Martin Landeau and Roger Moore are also on this list.
Rest In Peace Roger Moore
RIP Sridevi
Rest in peace Roger Moore, Berry, Avildsen
I teared up when I saw roger moore. I expected a reaction for him from the crowd.
But then they should react for everybody. TBetter solution: SILENCE and better no claps at all, because it is disrespectful after all.
Grande Sir Roger Moore
Yeah me too
2:39 SRIDEVI the only female actor who outshined all male actors across India. In almost all major industries of India! SRIDEVI, she is a school of acting and still stands as a huge inspiration. You're unforgettable! Thanks to Oscars for recognizing this lady superstar.
Yep
Rip her, but never find her a good actress, it's surprising that oscar did that, but lata mangeshkar definitely deserve this.
@@Sanamehra48 dilip kumar deserves spot with Lata Mangeshkar Indian legends will remember forever for their name and profession
I didn’t watch that year’s Oscars but seeing Haruo Nakajima.. as a Godzilla fan that’s respect by us westerns... and tribute to one of the legends of Hollywood.. a tribute to the true king of the monsters..
Wonderful superb great All stars. Roger Moore greatest actor legend Rest in peace All
people left out of the “In Memoriam” segment included Glen campbell, Adam West, “Harlem Nights” actress Della Reese, “The Lion King” actor Robert Guillaume, “Fraiser” star John Mahoney, "Gomer Pyle"s Jim Nabors, "The Partridge Family" star David Cassidy, "Magnum P.I." actor John Hillerman, “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” director Tobe Hooper, “Written on the Wind” actress Dorothy Malone, and “House of Cards” actor Reg. E. Cathey. oh and Eddie Vedder's version of this song.
Michael Parks
And don't forget David Ogden Stiers.
...Emmy Award winning 'Roots' and Women of Brewster Place actress Olivia Cole.
Actress Ann Wedgeworth, Fats Domino too! One of the sorriest I have ever seen!
Bill Paxton
You might as well like yourself...think of all the time you have to spend with yourself.
Well said.
Thanks so much for posting this. You've saved me from viewing about 3 hours worth of bullshit and megalomaniacal egotism. ...I surely do miss all of the REAL stars that are now in the heavens.👍🏽💯🤔
You're welcome!
budleewiser 😊
Roger Moore, my favorite, Rest in Peace, from Sicily
I miss you jerry Lewis 😭
RIP Roger, keep raising that eyebrow.
Now he has some drinks with Sean in heaven.
People I'm SO glad they mentioned in the Memorium:
Seijun Suzuki, George A. Romero, Sam Shepard, Haruo Nakajima, June Foray
People I am so pissed off at the Academy for forgetting to put in the Memorium:
Bill Paxton, Powers Boothe, Adam West, and most especially, my top favorite, Tobe Hooper.
They need to do an Honorary "In Memorium: The 2010's" of all the people they forgot to mention in their "In Memorium" Segments from the 2010's when the 2020 Oscars rolls around, and immediately after the "In Memorium: 2019-2020" segment. The "In Memorium" segment is actually my favorite part of the entire Oscar show, and they need to make up for all the compounded oversight.
Still salty about them missing Abe Vigoda
Don't forget r Lee emery
@@williamdavies9634 Imagine the crowd would have erupted possibly for him but they were sort of silent for Jerry Lewis
Bill Paxton died the day BEFORE the ceremony; there simply weren't enough time for them to edit the video. At least Jennifer Aniston compensated for it by doing a verbal tribute beforehand.
Could they just once get through a whole In Memoriam segment without cutting back to the person providing the music, no matter how good it is, leaving the pictures of several of the honorees covering about a sixth of the screen? Or if they have some contractual reason for doing so, then stop the slide show for however long the singer is on screen in the middle. It's bad enough we get to see only two or three seconds of each person, barely enough time to look at the face, remember what we saw them in (if an actor) and read the caption. At least it wasn't any group of tenors over-emoting Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah". The song was an excellent choice this time.
2:39 bless your soul Sridevi❤
I felt bad for days when June Foray died. So much of my childhood went with her.
Eddie vedder did this song some justice. I hope Tom smiled while he listened to it in the hereafter.
P. S. Good to see two of my favorite entertainers here, June foray, and Don rickles.
The music should be instrumental only, played by the orchestra, and the camera should stay on the screen the entire time. That is how they used to do it. It is so disrespectful now.
how is it disrespectful?
@@DillonTrinhProductions It should be about the people who passed, not the person singing.
Completely agree. Tess you have spoken for many
And longer. Many of these made 'hollywood' what it is today.
Someday they'll learn this and they'll have only time for this, not for speech and schmooze.
Don Rickles and Jerry Lewis in the same year? Now that, folks, is the end of the era. The era of show business.
Couldn't agree more, it used to be so much more poignant. Who cares about some violinist etc no-one's heard of.
Why on Earth would they not applaud Sir Roger Moore? Famous for his infinite contributions to charity!?
4 some reason he was against poachers and big game hunters
They shouldn't have to clap at all. If you clap for one, then for the others too. And that would be silly.
RIP George Romero. If you don’t know who he is, he basically revolutionized the zombie genre. Zombies rising from the dead and eating the flesh of the living (and said people bitten by zombies and dying and turning into them) and only being able to kill them by injuring the head was all George Romero. Before. Zombies were connected to voodoo and had a puppet master.
So honoured that they added the Great Sridevi and Shashi Kapoor ji
2:12 r.i.p. sir Roger Moore
RIP Jerry Lewis and June Foray.
R. Lee Ermey R.I.P - Only tuned in for a few minutes. I want my minutes back.
We need Jason David Frank to appear at the 2023 In Memorian 💚
R.I.P. and thanks for all for ever.
I really happy that the Oscars mentioned Hiep Thi Le, the actress from Oliver Stone's Heaven & Earth. 2:49
It's been 6 months yet I'm still livid at the mere fact that they left out Oscar-winning actress DOROTHY MALONE, Anne Wiazemsky, whom starred in one of the greatest movies in the world of all time Au Hasard Balthazar and Glenn Campbell, but instead they included a NOBODY in the form of HIEP THI LE!
SHAME ON YOU ACADEMY!
Hey, at least we got least one of the stars of Heaven & Earth was so remembered.
3:05 Rest Don Rickles - Mr.Potato Head
RIP Hiep Thi Le an understated pioneer.
Dorothy Malone 1956 Best Supporting Actress for "Written On The Wind" snubbed ...unexcusable!
Utterly horrible that they would do this.
It was really shocking that the Academy forgot to include Dorothy Malone who died within the calendar year of the 2018 Oscars. At the time of her death, she was the oldest living Oscar winning recipient in the Best Supporting Actress category having won for 1955's "Written on the Wind". This was the first time in the Oscars history of the Memoriam segment that they had omitted an actor or an actress who actually won an Oscar. Very shameful.
I am ashamed that I knew only recognized 3 people in this memoriam, I missed out a lot of good stuff it seems. I'm however a bit weirded out how many of the actors and actresses I knew about that were excluded from this list
Was ist mit Patrick Swayze
They must have outsourced this segment - shameful they left out so many - no wonder no one watches.
Wish the producers of the 2019 Academy Awards show would slow down the slideshow. It’s difficult to read the names and see those faces when they are flying by so fast! Time constraints prevent all that we’ve lost from being included I know, but if it was not accompanied by a live performance, maybe you could do them all justice. This segment of the show needs changing for certain.
Shashi kapoor and Sridevi and all others r.i.p
Haruo nakajima,
The real King of the monsters!
Roger Moore, nobody did it better.
My favourite Bond and The Saint, of course.
Goodbye great ones .. and the ones you forgot......😔😔😔😔😔😔😔😔😔😔😔
That’s a very sad I love the actors and love break my heart
Don Rickles was brilliant in Casino and Toy Story. Mr. Warmth will always live on
An beautiful song
Very touching so many gone
I understand that there are so many professionals in the movie industry, that they can't name everybody......with that being said I am shocked that Bill Paxton and Tobe Hooper were not named. Paxton has been in some of the biggest movies in cinematic history (Titanic, Aliens, The Terminator) and Hooper was responsible for launching (in large part) the slasher movie with Texas Chainsaw Massacre, not to mention his work on Poltergeist (though we all know Spielberg really directed it). Sure, neither one was ever going to win an Oscar, but you can't deny their contributions.......well actually I guess you can
Wayne Wolcott I agree, they only mentioned him last year before memoriam, he needed a picture up there
He actually died before last year's Oscars, I believe he was mentioned then.
You're right, Paxton did pass before last year's Oscar's, however he was in neither last year's or this year's montage. I just feel that both Paxton and Hooper deserve at least that.
Adam West, too.
I am just as shocked as you! Bill Paxton, forgotten....Never! RIp Bill Paxton...loved your acting, Titanic to mention one.
Missed Paul Walker 💔💛💙
He died in 2013. This is the 2018 tribute.
@@flavioadler5185 I know
Makes me very happy that June Foray is in this
I am also wondering where Adam West and Miguel Ferrer were? I know they were both more known for their contributions to television, however they have made dozens of films between them. Hell, Adam West was the first full length motion picture Batman and Miguel was in Robocop, Iron Man 3, Twin Peaks Fire Walk with Me, Mulan, The Manchurian Candidate (remake) and many others. I just understand the criteria for who gets in and who gets left out????
I don't think the future length Batman movie is considered a film masterpiece.
thse two were often on tv then in films. for example Adam West was on Batman tv show while Miguel Ferrer was on NCIS Los Angeles.
Sridevi and Shashi Kapoor 😞 am glad they included them..
Now compare this to the 2021 in memoriam... This is superior by far
3:04 RIP Mr.Potato Head.
Toy Story 4 will dedicated to him
Memoriams should be in segments throughout the event, with music, no performer, and after the show, the edited memoriam (merged) should be posted on the awards website and UA-cam. Each actor should include a small clip from memorable performance or an interview. A rushed screenshow does them a disservice. They deserve better.
Sridevi. Heaven is where you belong. goddess..
ADAM WESSST AAAAADAM WESSSSST
Where the hell did Bill Paxton's name go?... bad....
Respect to Sridevi.....
Where were Charmian Carr and Heather Menzies from "Sound of Music"?
I don't know.
Seemed kinda rushed. What a shame. Probably one of the worst In Memoriam ever.
Jerry Lewis 😢
I’m crying
John Heard 😢😭😭😭
Wow no Bill Paxton man that is messed up
Maria Perez-Cuatzilo last year. He died one day before the Oscars and they included him.
jakey Dee FPV Makes me wonder why they didn't include David Ogden Stiers.
I loved his work.
If he had gone to a corrupt overrated, overpriced Ivy league school you can bet the farm they would have included him...
lol! You mean like Winchester?? @@ernestkovach3305
No Michael Parks...
RIP June Foray
RIP LE THI HIEP from Vietnam
😢 I Want this video with subtitles, please.
Kevin Spacey’s career.
Dont worry, in the next oscar
He's Alive & Well!
Some people have to check the calendar!
Asking why Carrie Fisher, David Bowie or Bud Spencer were not in this.
Because they died 2016 and not 2017!!!!
And Bill Paxton died 25th February 2017, I think he was "In Memoriam" the previous year, (Oscars 2017 and not 2018) which was held just one day after his death.
And to the audience: when you clap for one person, then clap for all or just leave it!!!!
Carrie Fisher and Bill Paxton got their final cuts. But Bud and David didn't got theirs despite everything else.
RIP Shashi Kapoor
''RIP''....Bernie Casey
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 plz stop!! 😭😭😭😭 I’m crying!!
i feel like this was weirdly put together. is it just me? Like usually they have more clips of the stars performing but idk this seems hurriedly put together to me. R.I.P to all
I agree, it felt really rushed to me, I actually think they need to overhaul how they do their In Memoriam's this was really quite shameful. A lot of people missing who should have been there and the slideshow was way to fast. It's become more about appearances than honouring those who've passed.
No Michael Nyqvist either.
this is really nice, but I was kinda waiting for heath ledger, still this was very emotional
Why was not Monty Hall put in ' In Memoriam"? And what about Rance Howard? Ronnie Howards dad. And Rose Marie. Did they not die in 2017?
no rose marie and no dorothy malone. WTF
...Rance Howard was included.
Roger Moore later in his career turned his hand to comedy and he was amazing at it and if i had to pick one example it would have to be Bullseye,it’s a movie i still laugh at thirty years after it release. Both he and Michael Caine are hilarious in double roles
Hate hearing people clapping for one person and not having the decency to clap for the next one. This is exactly why you shouldn’t clap at all for these things.
No Adam West or Bill Paxton? Those Bollywood actors are nobodies compared to those two treasures.
I can’t believe The director of Godzilla is dead
sad*magical🖤
2:34 God, I missed you George A Romero. I lov3 you so much! Thanks for a zombies movies!
I really don't want to disrespect the dead at all but it seems they spent too much time on some of the names and raced through others. Roger Moore was a hugely successful actor and influenced many people but he was given a few seconds where others were given much longer segments when their contributions were not as memorable.
SHAME on the Academy for not mentioning OSCAR WINNER DOROTHY MALONE who passed away in JANUARY OF 2018. YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES ! HOW DISRESPECTFUL !
That's not fair. The fact is Dorothy Malone has retired from acting in June of 1992 after completing "Basic Instinct" at Lionsgate for good. She decides that acting was
a great challenge to work. Her children were saying she didn't want to be upset nor angry by many fans: "Although my mom, Dorothy wasn't honored at the 2018 Oscar
Memoriam tribute but being remembered at the 2018 BAFTA Awards, Saturn Awards and Emmy Awards Memorial Tributes for all of the work she had ever done from
the 1950's until 1990's. She made us laugh, cry, stand, cheer and care. To Dorothy, thank you for everything you do as a beautiful actress and lovely mom." RIP.
R.I.P
They forgot the guy who brought Marlon Brando his tea on the set of Streetcar Named Desire.
I usually don't like it that people clap/cheer as some of the deceased they know and love appear. While at one hand they respect the person, but on the other half it felt like they disrespect the dead
They forgot Tobe Hooper, Chainsaw Massacre & Poltergeist director.
R.I.P Jerry Lewis
Song?
Gojira
🙏
they missed out on barry norman too who sadly paased in 2017
Worst Memoriam ever. They showed everything so fast that you could not read the names and then the camera went at an angle and you couldn't see who was on the screen. You would think that the Oscars would take more than 4 minutes to pay tribute to their deceased peers and show all that have passed and not just a few. Cut down on the political B.S. from your celebrities speeches and give more time to the deceased.
You want a good In Memoriam try "TCM Remembers". For my money the producers of those lovely pieces (Sabotage Film Group) could have used Eddie singing Petty's beautiful song to much better effect than this, which was too rushed and left out a bunch of people.
