Another excellent and typically Kai video. I even watch the ones that ostensibly have nothing to do with my style or gear choice because I always learn something and am always entertained. Brilliant. Thank you :0)
Thomas Heaton is well worth checking out for people interested in landscape. Interestingly, he often uses a 70-200 to catch details rather than broader panoramas
I tapped the like button with a decent amount of force, but nothing that would cause anyone to look over. Also, thanks for doing this video. I've shot landscapes for ages but every now and then I fall into a rut.
Its not easy to do all this video review or tips by yourself ... can't imagine how much work without Lok and the crew like before! .. be strong Kai and God bless you brother!
*1. Location, Location, Location:* Research it, Google it, Explore it. Go out and find new places to shoot. Also, Go back to old locations and shoot in different lighting conditions and seasons. *2. Plan You Shoot:* Allow enough time to set up your tripod, your camera, and find out which angles works best for you. Don't set up minutes before the sun sets. *2 1/2. Know your weather:* Check the weather so there aren't any unexpected surprises. *3. Bring ND Filters:* You need (Variable) ND Filters (Brands like Hoya, Syrp, etc). Why? Things just look better with a slower shutter speed. *4. Get A Good Tripod:* This doesn't include the free tripods you get when you buy a camera. Get one that doesn't wobble when you press down on it, has a hook for adding extra stability with baggage. *5. Have A Wide-Angle Lens:* It's very useful to get those dramatic leading lines. *6. Leading Lines:* Doesn't have to be straight, could be curved. It creates a path to the subject of the image. *7. Foreground Interest:* You can put "flashy" things, like people in your foreground. But, a typical landscape thing is to put a "non-flashy" thing in your foreground, like a gate, for interest. *8. More D.O.F (Depth of Field):* Have a smaller aperture. _Beginner Photographer tip-> Bigger "f/" (ex: f/11, f/16) number = smaller aperture._ However, don't make you aperture too small (like f/22) because this causes "Diffraction" which makes your photos look softer. (Kai would personally go to f/16, smallest) *9. Aerial Landscapes:* You can get dramatic, less common shots by "reaching for the frickin skies" with your drone. *9 1/2: Rule of Thirds* Treat it as a suggestion, not a "Rule". It can get you an aesthetically pleasing shot, but don't let it dictate your creativity. *10. Don't Be a Quitter:* Don't let the weather get to you. It doesn't always work for you. Even if you think the shoot is not working, take some shots anyway. You might be surprised what you get. If it's cloudy, try black and white. If it's dark, try a long exposure. But, expose properly... The photo, not you lol.
I wish I could go back in time and track down the person who was responsible for the GH5 autofocus system, and kick his dad in the nuts on the day of conception.

TopGear calling Kai: "...well, if you ever get passionate about cars give us a call, Jeremy needs to retire and Matt Leblanc can't fill the void..." 😅🤣...love your videos!
Maybe you can do a video on some lenses you use for landscape, or some gear that you use? For instance, certain items that might be useful for certain unforeseeable conditions. You have the experience so I would love it if you considered doing a video like this. Keep up the great work Kai!
Great Points! Explore, Explore, Explore and find cool shit. Thomas Heaton has convinced me that landscapes on a zoom can be awesome too. I have always been a Wide Angle kind of guy (Rokinon 14mm)
Dear Kai, i need your help in choosing the best second lenses for my 80D, crop sensor Canon camera. Actually i already have the Sigma 18-35mm f/1,8 and i still have in focus the Canon EF70-200 f/4 IS USM and the Sigma 50-100 f/1,8 DC HSM. Which is the best from these 2 lenses? Thank you!
Thanks for this! I’ve been itching to explore landscape photography, but never really knew where to begin. It’s so different from what I’m used to.
I'm a amateur photographer, thanks for helping... ♥️

Kai's Back! Doing what he does best - piss taking, potty mouthed, irreverent and funny! Love it, button bangered and mashed.
I tapped the like button with a decent amount of force, but nothing that would cause anyone to look over.
Also, thanks for doing this video. I've shot landscapes for ages but every now and then I fall into a rut.
I lightly tapped the like button.

Mmmm GH5 AUTOFOCUS
Imagine canon making a camera like the gh5 but with their autofocus. Eevverryyoonnee would start using it.
A. S. It is still the largest camera manufacturer
I wish I could go back in time and track down the person who was responsible for the GH5 autofocus system, and kick his dad in the nuts on the day of conception.
I DON'T KNOW, It look like he is hiding his mucus :P
A. S. Can you give me an example of their "innovation"?

Frat tips, I like to say that “location” is really a set of space time coordinates. Like the sun will hit that place in a particular time of the year.
