    Kai, I am sure you may hear this often, but i truly appreciate your birth and your willingness to guide those of us who are in a rabbit hole of technological world. You have inspired me to move forward with my desires to express my view or the world thru a lens. Your humor is satisfying whilst very witty with puns being priceless. The way you explain situations are very easy to comprehend and very entertaining as well, which keeps my interest going. I am a very insecure human in general, but with your virtual guidance, i don't have that physical insecurity or that feeling of being overwhelmed, i can pause you and come right back. When you work with Lok, it truly is like watching two genius's in such a natural element that encourages that push i need to get out there and practice. Thank you Kai.

    7:00 My photography literally improved when I bought new gear. I never understand why people say not to do this. I never realized how limited my photography was until I bought more lenses and bought some flashes to have some control over my lighting. I would say the exact opposite go out and buy a few new lenses and flashes, then try to how to control lighting and how Lower to higher aperture affects your shots. I was using a stock lens and a 50-200mm for the longest time, because everyone said don't buy new gear focus on using what you have. But my skill was completely limited by those things and poor glass.

    • @TheStianmann
      @TheStianmann 5 років тому +6

      Problem is that some people mistake lack of skill for lack of gear. If you are good enough at photography to identify exactly how your gear is limiting you, then sure go ahead and buy some new gear.

    • @ardaduck735
      @ardaduck735 2 роки тому

      I can assure that you are an outlier. You should hit the skill roof first before you decide to buy better lenses in my opinion.

    Regarding #5, I will say that yes, too many people think good gear will make them a better photographer. That said, as someone who suffers from nerve damage that causes me hand tremors, I can say with full honesty that a camera upgrade would make a HUGE difference for me, as not only will I be able to have more play in my shutter speed(A larger sensor means more light, and better ISO handling means less noise if I decide to pump it a bit), but I'll also have less concerns involving micro-jitter, something I suffer with every day due to the aforementioned tremors. All of which is to say, Yes, a better camera, in my case, would help to produce better images.

  • @davidowle3772

    I love your videos.
    Comment about the 1/ rule... Because I'm too cheap to go full frame, I have an APS-C sensor (just the sensor... no body).
    I've found that I have better success with the 1/x if I incorporate the crop factor first. In other words, when I'm using a nifty fifty, I try for 1/80th or faster.
    1/(50mm x 1.6) = bingo!
