Does anybody else watch all these 'beginner tips' videos even though you've been shooting for years? I still usually find at least one pearl of wisdom in most of them!
Great tips, I am watching this because I have to improve my pics every day :)
I watch all Kai W videos..............................
Yes, 100%. And I always will. Sometimes we all get a bit too fancy and forget the basics!
Absolutely!!! We all need reminding
@@ceciliaandemilia amen to that!
A POV of a birth...did I hear it right? U ter us apart with those jokes.
I imagine that's exactly what giving birth must feel like.
*You tear us
Cyberpunk VR ok. I just tell you this: joke about birth = U ter us (Uterus)
Thanks no problem
Dude, there's a time and a placenta for everything
@@BloodpactORG hahaha :D
Kai, Love your stuff, the simple format of presenting a real world attitude and humor to everything you do is refreshing. Love that you are willing to tell it like it is and dont shy away from saying that something sucks balls. Pour the content out brother I love it
Shaking Kai in Death Metal style 🤟 made my day :)
Too damn funny and he made lok look like a badass with that one picture
But Lok is a badass
Kai, I am sure you may hear this often, but i truly appreciate your birth and your willingness to guide those of us who are in a rabbit hole of technological world. You have inspired me to move forward with my desires to express my view or the world thru a lens. Your humor is satisfying whilst very witty with puns being priceless. The way you explain situations are very easy to comprehend and very entertaining as well, which keeps my interest going. I am a very insecure human in general, but with your virtual guidance, i don't have that physical insecurity or that feeling of being overwhelmed, i can pause you and come right back. When you work with Lok, it truly is like watching two genius's in such a natural element that encourages that push i need to get out there and practice. Thank you Kai.
Please do more about the tips and tricks of photography! It's fun to learn new ideas!
I've been following Kai ever since he was with the old "Website" eons ago. They never get old, and he's just great at doing them well! Well done Kai!
From the time I first started shooting photography I made almost all of these mistakes. A year and a half later I have learned so much. Awesome video
Hey Kai I’ve been watching you for a while and you have been a great inspiration to me. Thank you. Please don’t stop.
i miss this voice.. tnx for my childhood... 5 years ago atleast... or more... Kai... you are still the best blogger
That's a great photo of Lok 📸
The community thanks you for keeping the content real and the jokes original. Always fresh stuff 🔥
That popcorn 😂 You are such a goof, and I love it!
I still haven't figured out how to take the lense cap off. Make a tutorial plz.
Man I love your humor. Really informative video and, though I kind of knew these, found this video incredibly interesting anyhow.
You are slowly approaching the million. Good work
Thank you Kai. Excellent stuff. Please share more videos like this.
7:00 My photography literally improved when I bought new gear. I never understand why people say not to do this. I never realized how limited my photography was until I bought more lenses and bought some flashes to have some control over my lighting. I would say the exact opposite go out and buy a few new lenses and flashes, then try to how to control lighting and how Lower to higher aperture affects your shots. I was using a stock lens and a 50-200mm for the longest time, because everyone said don't buy new gear focus on using what you have. But my skill was completely limited by those things and poor glass.
Problem is that some people mistake lack of skill for lack of gear. If you are good enough at photography to identify exactly how your gear is limiting you, then sure go ahead and buy some new gear.
I can assure that you are an outlier. You should hit the skill roof first before you decide to buy better lenses in my opinion.
I miss digital rev and Hong Kong.
I was so happy when I found the Kai channel (cuz there are only old videos from him in digitalrev)
Kai you need to be at a million subs! Humor and education should always be at the top lol Thank you as a novice I have definitely been in the trap of focusing on taking that extra sharp image but lacking subject and the photo just being crap 💩! But man it was sharp!
I pressed like twice. Everything for you Kai!
alex mutovin that is equal to nothing
The last part is very true... Especially diffraction.
The 1/focal length for shutter speed is only for FUll frames.. u need to multiply the focal length for the crop factor if u use a smaller sensor
Awesome stuff man, love your channel and videos, not like the others
Yeah man, I need this... I've got my videos to where I'm happy(still a long way to go) editing right now, hahaha, but my photography is still at the starting line.... I need all the help i can get... Love your content, been power watching old videos, even your 1st Digital rev(pretty funny)... Thanks for all the help... take it easy...
You make me happy everyday. Great job Kai W!! ;)
Thoroughly enjoyed this. Hope you do more
I love snaps that have a tree growing out of a subjects head in perfect focus.
you’re like the top gear of photography 🙏🏻
Im not even a photographer and don't plan on being one but I love this channel because of the humor and Kai. Lol
Definitely great tips... wish I had this video 5 years ago, would have saved on lots of experimental purchases.
This is great and informative Kai - perfectly funny too 😆
I use the Dutch angle at parties all the time. Mostly to make the image seem a little more chaotic, but with the added benefit that I usually get more in frame. Then again, I'm Dutch. Does that make it just a normal angle?🤔
It’s just angle then
look why don't you be honest...if i use the dutch tilt at party's its normally because i am pissed
@Johan Sahlin
You're right. Dutch humor is far superior.
@@77appyi Of course I'm pissed when I use it, but how else are other people and sober me gonna know I was :p
You just had too much beer and can't hold the camera stright
😆😆😅👏🏼👏🏼 love you Kai!! always a creative but informative videos!
Thanks. Really good points.
Just got my a6400 and this video couldn't have come at a better time!!
Me too
Haha good watch! Thanks Kai!
Literally had the exact same shaky experience after having my first proper Italian espresso. My wife had to take the pictures when we visited the Vatican after breakfast, I was making a blurry mess. :P Thanks for another fun video Kai!
Thank you for this video, and for making me laugh while teaching :)
Great content m8. I do enjoy your vlogs .
More tutorials like that Kai, that's far more interesting for the Gaussian majority of Photographers over here.
I love this guys voice
Kai makes the best videos
Great video!
Love your style, and your twin near the beginning looks a cool guy. Loved the location at 2.10; whereabouts is it, as it is ideal for long exposures. Glad to see you are supporting your local Premier League club.
living on the edge there, balancing that Ceylon on a macbook! those liquid indicators inside are already shivering in fear.
thanks for excellent advice
Great stuff..!
Lovely stuff!
Good vid. Enjoyed it
good stuff as always
The rain man part was hilarious... i almost fell of the chair.... 😂😂
best video yet - great humour
No 6: frame right and symmetrical ,parallel to the ground when you have buildings ,just to make minimal adjustments to correct that perspective distortion.
Kai you are really funny. Love your channel.
Thanks!
always love myself some JPB
The intro though hahahaaa omg i laughed alot watching this😂😂😂 and learned at the same tim😏
Thanks for the tips! Some of these were sadly close to home haha
Thank You
You drink vita lemon tea ! I love you video Kai!
I see you are using the ol' formula for content. Like in the DigitalRev days. It's quite nice seeing something like that again.
i love your videos man they always so funny
The promised video with content
Thank you😁
You are literally the asian version on Jeremy Clarkson. That is a complement!
I would have said Richard Ayoade................... Also a compliment....? :)
I’d say “photography’s version of Clarkson” is more of a compliment...
@@unholysoldier13 Totally Richard Ayoade - eyes closed I'd think it's him, and almost as funny - both lift my mood!
I thought he was British
That's not exactly a compliment. Jeremy Clarkson, while funny at times, is a total knob.
O M G this video is so funny! love it!
this video was awesome :D
Kai, love your stuff. Are those arches the viaduct in Arnos Park? Football field also looks suspiciously like Brunswick Park. Lived there about a year ago!
Nice jacket from Vanquish!
Yay! Chinese lemon tea :D
0:02 Whoa! That's a very lovely dog with a very weird tail!
Good video.
I just came here to see which football team Kai W. is photographing. Also, I love his humorous narration and british accent.
Over using HDR drives me nuts
Well, it's probably not overused, it probably the heavy processed editing HDR that the problem.
Using HDR so you can get what your eyes can see is fine.
HDR photos that don't look like an HDR photo is probably would not drive you nuts.
Some people still love the heavy HDR look.
Remember the digital rev video about not dumping your DSlr for mirrorless 4 years ago, how do you feel now? Maybe an update video?
Thanx
You can also stop down a lens to get a sharper image since most budget lenses are just ok wide open.
Yeah, most lenses are sharpest at f8-f11. Theres a great channel Christopher frost photographer who has detailed videos on lenses, check his channel to know more about your one.
I watch him too. It's usually zoom kit lenses that are best at f/8. Cheap primes like the Canon 50 f/1.8, I use that at f/2.8
You are the man😎😂
great great brit tips
its all very well but let us see your pictures show off just how good your advice is ;-)
Nice to see you using a bit of THE ALMIGHTY HORNETS ground in this video. :)
Regarding #5, I will say that yes, too many people think good gear will make them a better photographer. That said, as someone who suffers from nerve damage that causes me hand tremors, I can say with full honesty that a camera upgrade would make a HUGE difference for me, as not only will I be able to have more play in my shutter speed(A larger sensor means more light, and better ISO handling means less noise if I decide to pump it a bit), but I'll also have less concerns involving micro-jitter, something I suffer with every day due to the aforementioned tremors. All of which is to say, Yes, a better camera, in my case, would help to produce better images.
I love your videos.
Comment about the 1/ rule... Because I'm too cheap to go full frame, I have an APS-C sensor (just the sensor... no body).
I've found that I have better success with the 1/x if I incorporate the crop factor first. In other words, when I'm using a nifty fifty, I try for 1/80th or faster.
1/(50mm x 1.6) = bingo!
Thats ofc necessary he meant full frame only otherwise use the multiplicator
This is a really good video, it's so funny to :P
The pink Kipon is already part of your videos.
Love the WakaMaria Hoodie!!!!!
That cheeky VITA lemon tea in the back
Great Rainman impression just by movement alone. LOL
More videos like this please. I suck at photography and the others that make these are boring...
Love these vids! Digital rev SUCKS without Kai
Their newer stuff's pretty cool though
1:37 buy a pentax with a self-leveling sensor and an electronic level that's displayed on the rear lcd, the top lcd and the viewfinder. :P
5:36 I laughed way too damn hard at this!!!
Had to pause for laughter on "too damn bloody shaky"...😂
It would be nice if you made a few videos talking about the basics of photography even if you have made plenty of them.
Vita lemontea is nice
I have nikon coolpix s3300, do I need to buy a new gear?
"That moist spongy bit." 😆
wtf your voice is such amazing
