1. If you have a food that has been recalled or that you suspect has been contaminated with salmonella, double bag it, throw it away and make sure you wash any surfaces or dishes it's touched with warm water and soap.
2. Salmonella is a bacterium that causes food poisoning. It can make you very sick, and it causes over 1 million infections in the United States each year.
3. Salmonella infection symptoms usually kick in within six hours to six days after ingestion, and they may include fever, bloody diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and dehydration.
4. Foods that tend to get salmonella contamination include fruits, chicken, eggs, beef, pork, sprouts, and even some prepackaged foods.
5. People usually get better without antibiotics on their own after four to seven days, but you need to seek medical attention if you have a high fever over 102 degrees Fahrenheit, bloody diarrhea, vomiting, or diarrhea that persists even after three days, or symptoms of dehydration.
Being informed and vigilant about salmonella infections is crucial for your health and safety. Remember, prevention is key. Always practice good hygiene in the kitchen, cook meats thoroughly, and avoid cross-contamination of foods.

I have a 30$ tray with grapes, pineapples, cantaloupe, and watermelon. I have been chomping on the fruit salad for about 3 days.
I soak my fruits in vinegar, baking soda and water for about 15 minutes.
I just threw my cantaloupe out this morning. I noticed every time I ate it I was ill after. I just came across your video 🙏🏽 Thank God I got rid of it. ( it was precut) from Publix.

Dr frita, please explain to me i am 74 and was electrocuted severely in 2007 ever since I'm on 20 mg xarelto and it gave back pain. Lately I have terrible lower back pain and I got a sonogram at my PC office and it showed some spots on my kidney now my doctor prescribed a ct scan with and without contrast on my abdomen , which I think it should be on my lower back . Please give me your opinion. Thank you.
