Little trick I use for skateboard tails to make them last longer, it can be applies to the DeWalt's feet - apply a nice layer of sacrifiial epoxy. It gets worn down first instead of the product's existing material.
I appreciate how you are upfront about your welding skill level and what level the welding tables are at. I've never seen the dewalt table. So that is also cool
Great review. I prefer this style over the show-and-tell format interviews. The interviewees sometimes aren’t as clear and detail oriented as you and SMR are. I like your style.
@@roberttaylor9259 Yeah, sorry to Michael Regan but I just find Donald Bell's videos to be more high quality and direct. I'm glad these types of videos are back though. I was really starting to worry that we'd only get show and tells.
I'm glad you all like the video! I wish I could do more like this, but I honestly can't afford the time it takes to script and shoot them. The Show & Tells aren't perfect, but they're efficient to produce and at the end of the day they deliver on some great tool recommendations I wouldn't otherwise come up with. I'm a huge fan of Sean's content. He's concise, he takes testing seriously, and frankly I think he has more practical workshop tool knowledge than anyone on the team.
This is a great review and just what I wanted to see. I am just starting out as a novice weekend welder with entry level equipment, so learning of a table like the ones you've shown here was just ideal. Thanks again for sharing!
Quick and to the point while adequately covering pros and cons: awesome review! I'm still on the HF table, but that Dewalt may be in my nearish future.
Looks like a step up from HF but can you put 2 side to side or end to end to make a larger table. That looks very narrow. I have 2 of the HF tables and did not pay $70 each more like $56 with 20% coupon. What’s decent about them is I can C clamp them end to end or side to side without leg interference creating a large work surface . Also locking C clamps and F clamps work okay in the stamped slots. The bad is they are not height adjustable, only 14GAUGE stamped and a bit awkward to carry and store. But paying $112 for 2 was a good value for my needs.
Grizzly has two inexpensive tables with a 9 gauge top, and 16mm (5/8) holes at the standard 2” spacing. The fixed top model is around $140, and the folding model costs more. None of these cheap models has a top that’s “really” flat. But if you take the top off the Grizzly, you can find the high spots on the frame top and grind them down. It can really flatten it out, and the much thicker top is much stronger.
Honestly its probably nice having both I like the harbor freight for the fact I can adjust the tilt to help keep what I'm welding flat when running a stick
Great comparative review of the two tables. Still a lot for the Dewalt table. As a beginner I still might choose the Harbor Freight simply because of the cost.
I totally understand. The Harbor Freight table got years of good use before I made this upgrade. With coupons, you can often get them for around $50, which is hard to beat.
Thanks for the review. The Klutch welding table with tools is a better value if you can buy it on sale for $180. It does not fold but it is much better option.
I’ve been considering the harbor freight table but I think you sold me on the other one. Good job on the features illustration and videography. Oh, wait…the correct price is $290. Never mind.
The HF table, just like the numerous “who knows where they come from” cheap models on eBay, is modeled after the twice the price, but also better, Stronghand model, which I have. It does have a handle, and is better make, with some extra features. The dewalt does look nice, for a cheap welding table.

Instant upvote for your upfront clarification of your skill level and scope/limit of your advice
Have you seen the new harbor freight Titanium brand welding table? $164.64 with four clamps and accessories.

Yes! I thought so too! The show and tells are nice but they aren't as direct and high quality like these

Robert Taylor once again glad Donald is back

Maker Project Lab ohh ok! Thank you for providing some insight on the production of this channel!

The important question is the dewalt table top thicker than the harbor freight?
Good review! When storing the table on the floor, try placing it on a piece of cardboard that will slide easily and protect the rubber.

Where can we hear more about your electric karts?? 😎

Thanks for the review. Just started playing with welding. Didn't know Dewalt made a table, looks like a need to have.
Good review, thanks. I’m just setting up to do welding in my shop (2 car garage), so the Dewalt table looks like a good solution to a welding table.
Where can I find those round black benchdogs?
Hey on this dewalt portable welding table you showed those little black Dogs that push in the table holes where do I get those
I'd LOVE to see plans for how to build that go-kart!!!
My Mag Elvolution Drill flexes the Dewalt table steel, bought a 1/4 steel sheet to cover the top, best table needs a steel plate.

Hello. I would like to build an electronic go kart. Where do I start? Do you have plans?
Donald bell?! I remember seeing him review tech, i think on cnet. Never thought id see him doing tools.
I have 3 of the Dewalt tables and they are awesome!
If you are handy enough to need a welding table, you can make a handle for your HF welding table.

Turn cable guides around.
Great review, but it looks like Dewalt made a portable work table, thats just a little better than one of them workhorse folding benches lol....
Can you rotate the lower part of the legs so the cord clamp is out of the way?
If not just unbolt them and attach them on the inside.
@@charlesmckinley29 I thought the same when I heard this complaint. 👍
Where do you find 3/4 inch stops or bench dogs? Looks like standard welding equipment is 5/8...
Wood working supplies
Nice idea for the shop
Good review and very informative
HF table - Amazon $92 HF$69
Table not wide enough!
Damn A Hobart...............
If Grolsch is good enough dewalt is probably also good enough😂
I'll stick with my Rigid chain vise.
Kind of like a Heavy guitar case. LOL
Great!!!
$200 versus $70.....
