I bought a Primeweld tig welder a few years ago. Very nice unit. I don't do a lot of tig welding, so after a few months of non use, I had an issue I couldn't figure out. I called them and they immediately diagnosed the problem, and sent me a replacement part, which arrived the next day... for FREE. When UPS dropped the part off at my door, I got an email from them within 15 minutes stating that the part had arrived and to please call them with any questions. I must say, in all my 53 years on this planet, I have never been so impressed with a company's customer service. That alone would steer me towards the Primeweld table. He wasn't joking when he said their service is second to none.
I have the primeweld cut60 plasma cutter I had a problem I shipped to them an got it back in 2 or 3 days at no cost. Primeweld is in South Jersey and I'm in north jersey. But still the customer service is very good
@fuzzandtanya True, but each of my Miller welders has also had some issue over the years, and they were no where as easy to deal with, and very expensive to fix. The Primeweld has been as as good as any miller or lincoln I have ever used, at 1/3 the price. IMO, totally worth the risk to try it.
Thanks. I have the HF table as a starter table, but never considered the coating being a hazard! I just ordered the 15” x 20” welding table metal from Weld Metals Online.
I knew nothing about welding tables, now I know almost everything! Just goes to, show you how robustly informative of a video this is about welding tables! A1++ perfect!
I have a pair of the primeweld tables side by side and it's the best thing I've ever done for my welding. They're solid and accurate, only complaint I have is that one showed up with the bottom side covered in rust. Wasn't a big deal but still a couple hours of my time to remove it. Admittedly didn't complain to primeweld, so no idea if they would have done anything about it. Regardless, for the price I'm very happy and have considered getting a third to expand my working area.
THANKS! Was just doing a last minute comparison before heading over to HF to get their portable table (my first welding table for my first welder, a Primeweld 225 TIG, so was just looking for "anything" to just get started making welds). Love the fold-up portability for my tight garage space, but the *toxic gas emitting zinc coating* makes that a complete non-starter. Thanks for this info so that I don't wind up with a warped table and damaged lungs tomorrow. Will be checking out the Primeweld table instead -- if you can't get "cheap but good, all you need now but you'll outgrow it" go all in for "expensive but awesome, overkill but you'll grow INTO it". Thanks for making me see WHY to get the most expensive table and that it's the CHEAP long term solution! You got a subscriber!
Mike and Gene are GREAT ambassadors for welding . And Primeweld IS the biggest bang for the buck, with customer service the other guys have nightmares about . lol I want that table as soon as I can afford it, along with the cut 60 . The 225 acdcp is really all I need along with the awesome cooler . I love TIG . :)
Great video! I actually just purchased an ArcFlat system from Langmuir recently. Got two tops, a leg kit, the bolt kit (did NOT JBWeld them) and some fixtures. I love the table and it actually shipped to me in less than 4 days from my order. I was surprised since it does say 3-4 weeks lead time. I do agree about the legs, but I can always make another set down the road if I need to so it was just kinda something to get it standing till I decide what to do. Even without JBWelding the tops together it is extremely flat from one to another and fixtures reach across them like they are one piece.
Maybe you missed it at SEMA, but STV CNC now has a few different models of fixture/welding tables starting at $500. They offer 3 thicknesses of laser cut tables so one could argue the thinner one isn’t a good fixture table, but fits well in your sample set right in the middle.
Glad I looked up this video , I recently baught a Summit racing portable welding table , that's the same as the hobo freight table, and I just went and baught the bench top plate, I don't have a lot of space let alone a lot of money to buy the really good stuff I just need something good enough. Good video 👍
I've had two of the Langmuir fixture blocks since December 2020 and they've been amazing. Affordable and flat fixturing for the hobbyist or entry-level professional. Either the Primeweld or the Langmuir would be a world of difference above and beyond just about everything else available to the entry-level welder these days.
I bought a Harbor Freight adjustable table and immediately did two mods. First locking wheels then I cut the welds on the leg brackets, drilled the vertical posts and made the table height adjustable.Yes it warped, so I got a piece of 3/8" steel the 24"x36". Some day I will drill to top to use clamps
I have the Klutch table and use it with the short legs. I can put it on my welding table for tacking parts and then hang it on the wall when I don't need it.
Dude seeing your videos starting from your garage, to a shop, showing others your passion by teaching us how to weld, till now. I just want to thank you for spending your most valuable resource, your time and knowledge! 😊 thank you !!!🙏 I really am learning a lot with you! 💪👍🥹😁
I bought the Klutch table a year ago. Unfortunately they weld the top to a frame and due to that it has a dished top. It's dished at least 1/16 in the center. The HF titanium looks like the top is bolted on, so probably doesn't have that issue. That's probably the better choice if that's all your budget allows.
The nuts on the bottom of the legs on the Langumuir where not flat at all. Who/whatever welded the plate onto the bottom where the nut is "welded" to was crooked. They sent me a replacement leg which was also crooked. So i gave up and just welded casters to the bottom of the legs directly. I wish the Primeweld was around when i bought my Langumiur table a year or two ago when they first came out.
Would like to hear your opinions on the kit tables that you weld together. Since this is a welding channel, people should be OK with having to weld something like a table that is used while welding.
I was under the impression the Langmuir and the prime weld were both made by Langmuir and the only difference was the coating. This video was a big help and I’m no longer on the fence. I’m also 6-3 and the lil bit of extra height ontop of all the other differences, it’s a no brainer.
Any details or information about the Texas Metal Works 30x48" table kit? I've got a basic 40x48" metal top table (no fixture hole grid) that I've been using that I would really like to upgrade from.
Great video sir. Thank you. What would you think about purchasing two of the Harbor Freight tables and fusing the two table tops together for the extra thickness? Just a thought. Thanks.
I just spent nearly $5k on 2 of the fireball tools new dragon wagon fixture tables and a handful of clamps & blocks for them. Tables are all inclusive w/beefy adjustable legs, casters & brakes. Tables start shipping early December - I cannot wait to get them set up. They’ll be my first fixture tables. I’ve been just using fireball squares & clamps on a homemade 1/4” this table until now. I’m just a hobbyist in a home shop but I figure buy one cry once. But as long as you can make do with what you can afford and what tools you have you can learn a lot with set up and fixturing.
Well, you aren't playing around . You're getting the best stuff on the planet with Fireball . Congratulations, All I can think of getting from him is his squares and maybe his magnitic 1 2 3 blocks . lol Anyways, cool, glad for you . :)
@@TheFabricatorSeriesexactly why I pulled the trigger, I trust Jason 200%. I have had some of his squares for about 6 years now. And for what I do 2 of the 2’x3’ tables will cover my needs forever. Just a hobbyist car builder, most I’d ever do is a custom frames for my project cars.
Out of these 4, I'd buy the prime. But for 350 more, I'd but the fireball dragon wagon. 1/2" thick top, beefer adjustable legs/wheels, splatter proof coating.
One issue I see with the weld together at home table is warpage after you weld it together ( heat ) . Also it isn't likely that someone looking for their first table is going to have a flat surface to bolt it to.so they are likely going to start out with an un flat table.
For anyone with the Arcflat table, what is the dimensions of those square legs? I plan on buying 2 tops and making my own legs. I would think it's 3" square tubing?
Why would you buy a fixture table that had the holes and then put a solid plate on top of it? I understand coatings or what not, but feels like a solid plate defeats the purpose of a fixture table.
one day I'm gonna get me one of these fancy tables .. I really hoping to catch one on sale at HF for now .. put the stubby legs on it and put it on my current welding table that has like an 1.5" dip in the middle.. but Im that guy you see with a couple pairs of vice grips welding in the dirt with gasless flux core
Love the video. I actually went for a Certiflat Fabblock as those are available here in Canada. I also found it great to weld my own table and tools. May I suggestion a similar video about Welding helmets? Seems like there are so many options...
I have the Langmuir table and I like it. Sadly it’s made in China just like the other three offerings. I didn’t know that when I bought it and would probably have gone for another system if I had known that.
The only time the Langmuir makes sense is during their sale. Typically buy 3, get 1 free plus 2 leg kits and some fixturing I believe. Otherwise, you may have just steered me toward the Primeweld.
Really dumb question for everyone...do you have to use a welding table? Is is frowned upon to weld on a table with a wooden surface, or just not possible?
Wait wait… not everyone has a welder for a diy weld it yourself fixture table? Who is buying a fixture table that doesn’t own a welder? Love the content just found that statement odd.
This is one of those buy once, cry once items. Nothing more infuriating than having something not square because you weren't on a level surface. Thanks for the comparison, especially on the leg construction.
Those bench top plates are a good idea until it then effectively turn a fixture table into a really expensive ordinary metal table….kinda defeating the purpose (using the full size plate)!
I got the Primeweld table a few months ago and SOOOOO glad I did. Fixture tables make welding fun again for me. A good fixture table is even better. Next challenge is to collect a decent stash of accessories for it.
So I don't understand, If buy a table then I have to go to another company and buy fixtures? How do you know if the fixtures are compatible if they are made by another company? Isn't the table thickness important with the bolts with the balls in them? What fixtures work? This just seems silly to have to go to two different companies to have a table system.
All fixtures work off hole size, 16mm amd 5/8th (edit: thanks Anthony) is pretty standard so the fixtures are sold everywhere. Be aware depending on what your clamping, thinner plates will warp easier and round out the holes as you apply torque.
I think the harbor freight table comes with some basic fixture tools. A lot of people wind up making their own PS I think it may be 5/8" not 5/16. There are also dog stops clamps etc for woodworking. These are usually 3/4"
I love the "I Did That!" at the HF table price. Inflation is the price we pay for all those "free" government programs. BTW the Titanium fixture table is 20 bucks more than when you made this video.

So this video is about the best Welding fixture table for under $1000. Why do you talk up the Welding metals online Welding plates every table???? It completely takes away the purpose of a fixture table. If you’re spending $700 plus on a table you shouldn’t have to go buy another piece of metal to stick on top of it. Not to mention every time you talk about it the price that pops up on your little picture is $65, that is for a 15” x 20” piece of 1/4” aluminum. All of the tables you showed are bigger than 15” x 20”. The biggest size offered is 24” x 36” x 1/4” for $200!!! Ridiculous man…
