The Malcador in Legends is downright insulting. That tank was made for Krieg by FW, but GW decided to release the plastic kit as 30K and now it's stuck in Legends limbo. For having such a focus on Krieg, they sure have completely culled their armored division.
The Marcharius is the one made for Krieg. The Malcador is named after Malcador the Sigilite from 30k. Marcharius was the Lord Solar before Leontus and actually had more broken rules.
@@vxicepickxv In lore yes, but Malcador tanks IRL were made for the Krieg line by FW during Siege of Vraks releases. They were the first army showcased as using them and were confirmed to still use tons of them in M41. They're synonomous with them in 40k, and yet none of it's seen now...
I hope the artillery detachment isn't just damage. I hope it does something like artillery supporting and controlling the battlefield. A detachment rule that buffs friendly units against enemies hit by artillery, strategies like forcing battle shock or 12in deep strike bubble around artillery. I think that would be way more fun than just letting artillery do damage.
6:39 The Doom Scythe looks like the Quake symbol here. As for artillery, it'd be better to give a 'towing' rule. A gun crew can move a tripod/carriage machine gun (heavy weapon teams) and, with some more effort, a light howitzer (like the Bombast on the Field Artillery). But I doubt that a carriage with a 200+mm mortar or a long siege howitzer can be moved by hand, and this even without including the ammunition. However, you can attach said artillery to a motor vehicle and ride around. Essentially, you have a unit of artillery tractors (like the FW Centaur) that you can link to an identically sized or smaller unit of artillery to provide battlefield mobility.
One Page Rules will have Bikers in their HDF (their Imperial Guard equivalent) instead of horse riders available as an STL in a few months, might be worth checking it out
I'm guessing they remove a few Super Heavy data sheets. There's some that you could combine the statlines of, because they do roughly the same thing, then just have a different weapon stat line option for the main gun. Plus, even if they can now go through terrain, 10th just isn't friendly to the super heavies, and not many people are going to field any of them except whichever has the best point cost efficiency.
I would imagine the new detachment is going to be mounted units for the imperial guard. They have to sell people on getting roughriders so they will actually buy the new combat patrol or maybe even buy the overflowing stock of roughriders still on shelves. While a Scion one would be really cool and preferable I think they sell enough miniatures to not worry about giving them anything special.
Bought the launch box for the guard last edition and got to play that codex for like 3 months before they sprung a new edition on me, won't be making the same mistake again.
But you know people who field artillery, and makes their whole theme DKOK, those are just adding to their arsenal of arty. Also if tempestus scions do not get a army detachment rule, be sad if they don't or a sub in the calendar will also be sad, but It would be really cool if they make a tempestus scions standalone army book with all new models that fit their play style. They are suppose to be the best of the best and given the best. I can dream.
Sly Marbo is finecast / resin so could also be dropped alongside the other catachan characters - that would be all 5? I know he's quite recent but he's not plastic so in danger!
I sorts feel mixed, because scions could be imperial agents and that might shore up the firepower of that faction while still letting you use them in guard, but scions aren't inherently all IotA.
I mean, catachan would definitely benefit from a refresh and update, but their "Grimdark Rambo" theme doesn't have the variety of kriegers. I'm still down though.
If i had to take a guess as to the 5 models going to legends it would be: Sly Marbo, Sergeant Harker, Iron Hand Straken, Minostorum Priest and the Regimental Attachés.
@@HB2K-h8m so you are right that the priest is in the Agents Codex but, the reason I think he won't be in the Guard Codex is because the priest is in another Codex, the Sisters Codex, so you will be able to take the priest as an ally in your guard force but I don't think he will be in the Codex.
It's a shame you have to pay for the codex and those useless cards as a part of the box. On the other hand, I'm excited for 11th in the next couple of months.
No thank you. If the Krieg Marshal, Servitors, and the Malcador variants end up gone I think I'll just use the index version for friendly games. My custom guard army would lose a lot of flavour. If they end up in legends thats not so bad, don't plan to do any tournaments. Better download all the rules I need now before they vanish just in case.
If they ditch Straken I'll riot. One of the only ways to get Guard to be halfway decent in melee. Remove Creed or Leontus instead, they are just Order and CP dispensers that don't add anything.
@sundownwargames not asking for a codex for every regiment just give us something like the space marines codex where they give at least 10 different chapters some love every once in a while, they had rules for guard regiments a long time ago and just gave up
Literally no interest in any of the new models. Looks like my guard will be staying very similar this edition. I guess there’s still plenty of cool things to buy without having to incorporate any of this half ass looking weak sauce
Oh Boy. Already curious how GW is going Balance the artillery detachment, considering how indirect is currently handled in the game. Its by far the most toxic mechanic.
This box is going to be the most scalped release in history, I hope everyone is able to gets their hands on one.
Facts bro. It’s about to get savage out there
Last one was pretty plentiful, but then, it wasn’t Krieg models.
Hey, im not a native speaker, does "the most scalped" mean sth like saught after? couldnt find a good translation
Scalpers are the resellers who buy the product direct, then resell to buyers at a higher price

They've shown pics during the release stream - as in, concept art. They've replaced it with the Dorn in those.

Rest in legends big man Straken
Hadn't even painted mine.

Can’t wait for the Recon/Stealth detachment!
Men of Tanith !! Do you want to live forever ??
It will be a fun one, sure as sure
I've just build my first guard regiment as Tanith First and Only so this is perfect timing.
All that time making GreenStuff capes will not be wasted.

I'm so early that the Dark Age of humanity hasn't happened yet
I'm the only one that find the new recent cover arts from 10th edition codexes really weak?
A lot of them reused and lacking impact
Gut feeling is 11th edition may be Catachan flavoured for Guard.
still waiting for the ability to have a tank commander on a baneblade...
Rogal Commanders are back from 9th baby let's fucking go

They could have just made death riders as a dual kit. Perhaps they failed the deadline.

Well, half the armies don’t have codexes yet. I don’t think you have to worry this time
11 am i wake up start yt and see this. What a time to be a live ❤❤
the Mechanised will be fun.
Sad about the Lose of Catachan Characters if true.
Not a fan of having to run a DKoK command squad in a mechanised army.
They took Yarrick, Pask, and now Stracken...

I think we lost all Catachan Datasheets, Harker, starken, the infantry, command squad and heavy weapons team
I doubt that. Catachan and Catachan command squad are still for sale. Plus, Sly and the Catachan HWT are temporarily out of stock.
Sly Marbo is finecast / resin so could also be dropped alongside the other catachan characters - that would be all 5? I know he's quite recent but he's not plastic so in danger!
Cool as always. 👍
That's a sexy codex cover.
I want this Krieg flamer for my sisters army.
Hopefully the detachments are: Cadian, Krieg, Scion, Catachan, Steel Legion, and maybe Mordian style.
They aren't.
Does anyone know if new Krieg horse character (Marshal Dreir) have "generic" datasheet? It seem preview images shown him with different weapons.
Gonna be honest it would be a real shame to lose straken and servitors. There both fun units for a melee squad.
Well that does stink.
I have Catachan commandos and heavy weapons. Maybe I can use them as proxies.
I even got a 3rd party Ironhand.
A tempestus scion detachment and combat patrol could be good.

Sadly Catachans and Freebotaz don't fit the nobledark slop vision of modern 40K
They needed it so much more...
So how many units will be relegated to Legend? Will Infantry Squad get
squatted?
That's sorta the question isn't it?
If i had to take a guess as to the 5 models going to legends it would be: Sly Marbo, Sergeant Harker, Iron Hand Straken, Minostorum Priest and the Regimental Attachés.
Attaches see a little play for the deepstrike prevention
The priest is in the agents codex and combat patrol so doubt guard will lose it as the model will stick around.

A rogal dorn tank commander, neat. Not like Dorns aren't incredibly good for their points already.
hmm the tank commander is missing it's main weapon. It needs a sword
The Tank Commander needs a big war hammer with a rune of returning, so he can sit in the cupola and throw it like Thor.
I would be pissed if sniper rifle will be removed all units other than krieg and ratlings
hmm better be shovels on those sprues.
Is it just me or is lord marshal dreier just a mid iron hand straken?
