Wait they made it once per game? That sucks massively! I was wanting to get into tyrannids and unending swarm SPECICALLY, I just love the idea of non stop units battering at the enemy, dying but in turn slowly chipping them away.

    • @MrKaftpaket
      @MrKaftpaket 7 днів тому +6

@blazichaos7181 They nerfed the detachment rule, because in a FAQ they said a unit can only surge move once per round.
Then they said that a stratagem that can bring back units can be used only once per game.
I think both FAQs were not targeting unending swarm but other detachments in other factions.
Unending swarm before those changes was the worst detachment for tyranids already, now it's even worse :(
Sad because it was my favorite detachment, because for me it was closest to the lore and I loved the idea of swarming the board.

all this does is narrow even further what people can play. the biggest problem would be hurting casual players even further to appeal to the comp crowd.
what they need to do is add back the flavor and appeal for casual players, not dial it back even further.
They need to actually give codex marines meaningful chapter bases buffs and not just strip more things from the game.

    2. Rework drukhari's index. They are in a horrid balance space right now. Rsr is spamming covens because of the cheap bodies and spamming dark lance fire. The problem with anything GW does for codex space marines is that it will only ever be a buff to Ultramarines.
The nature of the detachment system is such that every other chapter is weaker than Ultramarines. It doesn’t matter if Adrax is 20 points, taking him instead of the Ultramarines characters means you are gimping your list.
It doesn’t matter if they make Ironstorm Spearhead way better for codex marines. You are NOT taking Iron Father Ferros. You are taking Ultramarine characters. It is a fundamental problem with 10th edition’s systems. There is no point, if you want to win, in playing anything other than Ultramarines this edition because the power of your chapter is consolidated solely within your leaders.

The point would be that if you run Feirros and you get a better version of Ironstorm, like a buffed detachment rule and maybe more benefit to detachments strategems. So as an example you could have that if you play Ironstorm as Iron Hands you get the standard detachment rule plus all your vehicles get a 5+ invul, something like that. You could put the enhancement back as being an aura for Iron hands. If you play Firestorm as Salamanders you get +1 AP as well within 6". what I want for marines is a return of chapter tactics for codex marine chapters that use no suppliment units. example:
White scars get a +1 strength and attack after charging.
Iron hands get a 6+ feel no pain across the whole army and a 5+ feel no pain on characters.
raven guard can redeploy 3 units before the first turn and can forward deploy 1 unit that doesn't have the rule.
imperial fists +1 to hit when shooting from cover or when firing overwatch.
salamanders get +1 strength and ap when within 6 inches of an enemy (shooting and melee).
Ultra marines get to declare one unit, not a named character, and they can reroll and 1s to hit and wound.
Then give each named chapter 2 enhancements tied into their lore that can be used in any detachment. Pull from the lore and pick two unique relics. In a perfect world I'd like one upgrade to take the form of a points heavy character upgrade (iron father for iron hands, forge master for salamanders, castellan for imperial fists, ect) that provides a lot of buffs to a captain. The other I'd like to see be a interesting piece of wargear, a shooting or melee weapon that can be used to boost a character's potency and killyness.
The chapter tactics I listed can also be taken by any second founding chapter (call them something generic like salamanders chapter tactic is "forged in fire" and iron hands is "unyielding endurance" and imperial fists is "bolter discipline".) but when taking a founding chapter they are stuck to their chapter tactic. (ie: nova marines can use any of the of the 6 listed chapter tactics, with iron hands are forced to take the iron hands tactic).

How many guns out there guarantees 6 shots with 4 damage per wound? How many of them have the option for these shots to be Devastating, Lethal or Sustained hits 2, with reroll 1s to hit and wound?
I agree there should be some changes for the model, but I would rather have the Nova reactor becoming more useful(give it one of each "charge", so 1 turn for devastating, 1 turn for mobility and 1 turn for durability), than just "buff gun".
The Riptide guns work well against their intended targets, but can spill into other roles due to Tau detachment mechanics.
If you want good anti-tank weaponry, you have many Seeker missiles, including the Broadside, Hammerhead and Skyray. And of course there is also the Sunforge Crisis.
The Riptide is very durable and mobile for its current cost. If you up the guns outright, it needs a drastic increase in cost. For instance, if we up it to S10/11, it would need to be 240 pts or so.

@fendelphi In 9th edition the movement of Venerable dreadnoughts was 9 inches and it was reduced going into 10th edition, making them a lot slower and as such all but unusable. As for Calidus Tank, I have 3 of them but, like the dreadnoughts they are FW and fu**ing expensive.
Custodes have a minimal plastic range, with the calidus tank, Achilles/Galatus and also venetari the most relevant units that desperately needs a plastic release. Even with those 3 units though, custodes would still have one of the absolute smallest plastic ranges in the game. This gives custodes a narrow selection base with very little variety considering both the real world cost of the FW products combined with the too high in-game cost and lack of viability for the dreadnoughts as they are, meaning a reversal of the movement nerfs for these dreadnoughts would make them somewhat more palatable...
Other factions, like space marines, generally have other better dreadnoughts to field and the older ones that have had their movement restricted are also never used. The Telemon Does have a 8 inch range, but the cost combined with the low ranged damage potential and the pitiful melee damage it offers does not make much sense as someone mentioned above, and it is virtually never used. Few people actually spend hundreds of pounds for a model that is close to unusable and has no shelf life guarantee, nor should they be expected to.

Give the triarch praetorians the ability to be lead by a noble, and make that noble the overlord with translocation shroud. He has no use being around immortals/warriors/lychguard. What he does can already be augmented with the normal overlord with a cryptek. Make the TLO able to lead praetorians and suddenly obesience phalanx becomes a SCARY detachment.
Chaos Space Marines: for the love of god across the board i need AP. Its ridiculous to me that my battle line Legionaires have 0AP on their bolters. Honestly happy with everything else, i can work with whats there. Dark pact and just a single AP to show these are the corrupted but equally as devastating space marines makes both lore sense and tabletop sense.
Space Marines: ive been slowly phasing my salamanders out and replacing them with Carcharodons. I have almost all Gravis and Phobos as a theme for what im collecting. I need a way to transport 10 Heavy Intercessors up to an objective and unless i run the 700point thunderhawk gunship, im shit outta luck. Ideally, since i can take 10 heavy intercessors, i would like a way to transport said 10 heavy intercessors. On top of that, the reivers need some desperate help. Theyre honestly fine until they hit melee combat. 3 or 4 attacks (cant remember) S4 Dmg 1 with precision, but no AP? You mean the guys who are terror troops carrying knives specifically designed to cut the throat of enemy leadership cant pierce through armor? Id be ecstatic if they got just a simple AP1 to their combat knives. Besides, SM2 is a thing and everyone loves zipping around in the va guard class. At least make them seem as cool as they are in SM2.

Honestly, the best way to FIX Codex Marines versus Divergent is to create one more selection at army creation. Select a gene father, each gene father grants specific categories of Units one free Strategem pert turn. Example: Imperial Fists - Once per turn, a Tacticus unit can use Overwatch for free; White Scars - Once per turn, a unit with the Mount keyword can Move, Shoot, Advance, and Charge; Raven Guard - Once per Turn, a phobos unit can Rapid Ingress for Free; Salamanders - Once per turn, Any Unit can use Heroic Intervention for Free; Ultra Marines - Can use Grenades once per turn for free. These are little underwhelming cause I only spent 3 minutes thinking about it. Another choice is a unique Trait for each First Founding gene sire; something like Khan chapters get an extra 2" movement for all Mounted and Fly units; Dorn - All bolter get an additional 2" range or Infantry always count as stationary when firing weapons; Vulkan - Flamer Weapons gain a MW mechanic; Corax - All 3+ Armor units have Scout; Roboute - Improved Leadership (since they already get all the best Epic Characters). Lastly, they could each get a signature unit and/or Force Org Change. Khan - Mounted Units get Keyword Battleline, Stormcaller Librarian on Jet Bike; Vulkan - Flamer Uints as Battleline, Melta based Unit with Jump Packs similar to Suppressors; Ferrous - Techmarines are Battleline, a Thunderfire Cannon or Rapier equivalent but worth using; Roboute - Can take Sternguard as Battleline; A Centurion Variant; Corax - Phobos Units are Battleline, A Unit worthy of the Reiver Models' appearance; Dorn - Centurions as Battleline, A Siege Terminator variant... Just thoughts, would love feedback

If none within that range, then must elect a character led or mounted unit within 18'
Otherwise, may elect any eligble unit as prey.
Feel like that makes it feel less useful against certain factions, while still giving some counterplay with the mechanic. Totally lore friendly for a smarter faction to use a 'decoy' vehicle to force the declaration that way.

    - Make the Cybernetica Datasmith a required model for a unit of bots, change the bots move back to 8", and get rid of all the extra verbiage surrounding adding the datasmith to the bots unit as a leader. Don't increase the cost of a unit of bots more than 20pts to compensate for this. I'm fine if the datasmith isn't a LoneOp and can be sniped out of the unit to mess with the ability to change modes.
    - Add something to the Cohort Cybernetica detachment rule that affects more than just bots. Maybe a generic +1 to armor saves for units within 3" of an AdMech vehicle or something. I don't really care what, but the detachment rule only affecting a single datasheet is not good.
    - Make sure that at least two stratagems in each detachment can be used generically on any AdMech unit. Don't lock every strat in to the detachments favored sub-faction keyword, or restrict them to a priority objective in the case of Explorator. Most of our detachments simply can't affect enough units and need to have additional generic capability in them that isn't will work on anything in the army.
    - If completely rewriting it isn't an option, give Explorator Maniple two priority objectives by default.
    - Drop the max number of Ironstriders/Dragoons in a unit from 3 down to 2, and adjust the weapon stat lines to get them up to around 80-90ppm. The durability on these units is appropriate, but they need enough damage output to justify a significantly higher points cost. This includes the Radium Jezzail carrying version of the Dragoon. That gun will probably need significant help to get the unit above meme-tier. The model kit is too expensive to be bringing as many as we can right now.

A very simple change to make Kastelans more of a flavor choice doing 2 things.
      1. Give them the army rule. So they function in other detachments.
      2. In cybernetica cohort give them the battleline keyword. 6 groups of bots is a meme, but Admech is the ONLY army where battleline shares buffs to its other units (breacher rerolls, ruststalker +2 advance and charge, pteraxii shootnscoot, the army rule itself). Its the only army where having battleline nearby does more than just having more OC on the point.

I wish my Necrons didn't have every player running Hypercrypt since the constant nerfs are negatively nerfing our other detachments. I noticed that other factions such as the new Angelic Host that have the same playstyle such as Hypercrypt but are only allowed to take infantry back into reserves. I think Hypercrypt should have something similar based on their lore which is having infantry phasing onto the battlefield as well as Monoliths. Also, I hate that GW is allowing C'tan spam which is also nerfing are other armies. It feels silly and OP that Hypercrypt can place Doomsday Arks, and other large vehicles and GW ended up increasing the cost of Monoliths from 350 up tp 400. They also increased the Tesseract Vault up to 425 points and the Silent King is still extremely expensive. Over all its been a negative play experience for Necron players as well as the factions playing against Hypercrypt. Nobody Warriors after their D6 Renaimation was educed down to a D3 and the Reanimator had its aura reduced to crazy low 3". Warriors had their 12" Gauss Reaper with 2 attacks Str reduced down to 4 from 5. Guass Flayers need a change siiliar to Gauss Blasters which had rapidfire1 taken away for 2 shots at 24". CUrrently there is still no reason for Warriors to use Flayers unless they gave it 2 Shots at 24" and keep their AP at 0.
The number of units Crypteks used to be able to join was originally 3 and hen GW reduced thier unit list so they can only join battle line which is baiscally just Immortals because of the current situation with Warriors. But then they allowed the Tachnomancer to join Wraiths which recreated the same durability issues when all Crypteks were able to join Lychguard despite the fact it was just the Technomancer combined with a Noble and Cryptothralls. No reason to restrict the other Crypteks.
Still feels odd that the Catacomb command Barge doesn't have the Noble Keyword. Its getting kind of frustrating that the same models from 9th edition ere over nerfed which made them rarely see play and its happening again. ALso would be nice if the CTan made from fine cast finally got the proper resculpts since they looks pretty silly when standing next ot the Void Dragon.
9th edition only allowed 1 C'tan due to the fact they are angry enslaved star gods and would never unleash multiple CTan shardes onto the battlefield since it becomes too difficult to maintain control which could end up creating a scenario where multiple Shardes begin to attack both sides while also altering the very fabric if reality. Even Eldar are restricted to taking either the Avatar of Khaine or the Avatar of Ynead.
Ultimately I would love to see the Necrons internal balance fixed so other detachments are viable and see some of the other nerfs undone or at least fix some of the over corrections to units such as Cryptothralls by giving them a minor buff such as Pistol on their 6" gun which has no special rules and reduce their points. Give the Reanimator a 6" Aura or design a rule that allows him to temporarily increase its aura.

Space Marines and Agents both need a significant number of new/rewritten rules to make them worthwhile. GW just isn't the type to make changes on that scale (unless there's a mechanic they want to nerf into oblivion). Despite the new Balance Dataslate, I expect to see only the laziest numeric tweaks to existing rules.
    What I'd like to see:
    - Agents get an actual army rule, which gives powerful new abilities to Characters so Inquisitors feel appropriately important. Agents can include IG, SM, or SoB units as Allies
    - Ordo Xenos gains unlimited Space Marine Allies, which also gain the Deathwatch keyword.
    - Change the Space Marine Chapters rule to give an additional Codex keyword to non-divergent chapters. Each detachment gets unique rules to leverage that keyword (e.g. more valid targets for Codex 1st Company Task Force strats, Codex Anvil Siege Force gets a little extra mobility, etc)
    What I'm expecting:
    - Nerf Agents but pretend it's a buff
    - Black Spear Task Force returns but all of the unique Deathwatch datasheets remain in Agents of the Imperium and must be taken as Allies
    - Numeric buffs for all Codex Space Marine Epic Heroes and nothing else. The press release is condescending about people with non-keyword chapters or who don't want to play herohammer

I think i have a fairly decent idea of how to fix Assimilation Swarm for Tyranids.
I would just somply tweak a little in their detachement rules, so their healing would be so lacklustered.
One model in that unit regains up to D3 lost wounds.
*"If that unit is a harvester unit, you heal 3 wounds instead of D3".*
One destroyed INFANTRY model (excluding CHARACTERS) is returned to that unit with its full wounds remaining.
If that unit is an ENDLESS MULTITUDE unit, up to *"D3+3"* destroyed models are returned instead.
Maybe there would need to be some changes to 1 or 2 enhancements too, but for the start i think that this change could be enough.

Well they can adjust the core Sm detachments for especific keywords. Make em more theme related. Make a boost for every core SM keyword for their related detachment. Example: Every SM faction can play all of the core detachments, but if you play gladius with an army that have the SM keyword ULTRAMARINES you get and extra buff like reroll the wound in the oath or something theme related, same case for Anvil, vanguard, ironstorm and their related chapter key words (imperial fists, raven guard, iron hands...etc) So you can play dark angels gladius but you cant acces that benefit bcause you dont have the ultramarine keyword or you can play irosntorm as ultramrines but you cant access the buff cause you dont have the iron hands keyword. Make the deatchment rule have a boost rule locked behind an army faction keyword, and with this you can limit the tipe of strong characters you can bring to the table (Marneus, Azrael, The lion, Guilliman, Dante...etc)
And if you have your succesor chapter you can call what chapeter is the founder and can use their boost and miniatures in their respective detachment

Add 1 to the damage characteristic of the Plasma Storm Battery on the Land Speeder Vengeance and bump the points up to 130-140.
Inner Circle Task Force: Change detachment wording to read: Each time a DEATHWING INFANTRY or MONSTER unit from your army makes an attack that targets a unit within range of one or more of your Vowed objective markers, add 1 to the Wound roll.
Inner Circle Task Force: change Eye of the Unseen enhancement to read: At the end of any charge phase, each enemy character unit within engagement range of the bearer’s unit must take a battle shock test. In addition, if the bearer’s unit is within range of a Vowed Objective, then until the end of the turn it gains the Fights First ability.
Inner Circle Task Force: change Wrath of the Lion stratagem to read:
    WHEN: Your Charge phase.
TARGET: One DEATHWING unit from your army that advanced this turn.

It's worth noting the relative difference between codex marines and divergent chapter win rates is at least partially due to player base migration. The players with inherently higher win rates tend to shift to the better chapters as the meta changes, leaving behind the single chapter diehards. Codex marines losing their top players to divergent chapters will drop their average win rate regardless of how strong the faction is.

Army rule buff for playing a codex compliant list. eg getting to pick to re-roll wounds or hits with OoM or plus 1 to wound, maybe a list of options to pick from for flavour.
Bonus for chapters playing their detachment - each detachment may list a number of chapters that get that bonus and those bonus's may include additional enhancements or rules.
First company detachment needs a glow up and not being chapter specific can work as the general detachment.
Terminators need a buff to firepower as they can't come down much more but they don't have the punch for the points investment - eg stormbolters get twin linked. (Although an appropriate glowup on First company may resolve that)

Not all of the units need to be listed but something like in liberator assault group for BA jump pack intercessors and DC cost +10 points or in Vanguard Ventris and Devastator Centurions cost +10 points. In this way you only have to adjust the most/two most spammed units in that detachment from a balancing point of view and you don’t have units that are either ok everywhere and broken in one detachment or shit everywhere and only playable in one detachment.

I've never liked the idea* having to take an epic character to get specific benefits. The divergent chapters don't have to. It feels like a tax, and it could involve taking a character that doesn't help your battle plan. I believe it would be healthier to allow people the option of paying something like 10-20 points to adopt the chapter keyword associated with their detachment, granting them bonuses for having that keyword. It could even be set up like an enhancement but one that applies to the army rather than a character. Or hell, why not: if it seems like the better choice for the sake of balance then by all means tie it to a character like any other enhancement. This would also naturally mean you get those bonuses for taking one of the epic characters with that chapter keyword without having to pay the tax listed in the detachment. To me that feels fair since you're already paying for the cost of the character.

And thats with ignoring the fact that Gladius is already the top tier detachment, so giving UM a buff if they use it will honestly probably create an even greater disparity between the subfactions within Codex Marines. The best and honestly easiest option is just removing tbe divide between the chapters in Codex Marines so that we can at least use any combination of our unique units at a time.
