Im 53 yrs old and want to roller skate. Im truly grateful for your tutorials and your personality shines brightly. Before I start, im going to practice all the moves without my skates.
@@SkatewithTess you're welcome, I only just found you so I'm so glad that the planets aligned so you're making more videos again and I can continue learning with you 😊
dude!!! i just hit your channel TODAY!!! - love!!! When you said you were coming back...i subscribed!!! Cant wait to see what c ha got planned (no pressure!) stoked!
Love the colors! I'm looking forward to the skate lessons. Please do a video showing as much detail as possible on starting to skate on rough surfaces. I know I keep harping on this subject. But it's because I watch every video I can find on that, but no one ever shows and explains the starting point. The second you start to move forward on rough surfaces. Every attempt I make, starts with getting caught up on something, and I trip and start to fall forward. And that's wearing 78a wheels. 😢 And I do wear all the protective gear, (Tripple 8), as well as padded pants. But im still terrified of falling. So it's hard to imagine not being afraid to fall. So I look forward to your video of how to get past that. Sorry for the rambles. I'm just wanting to actually skate! And still haven't been able to in 3 months of trying. So thank you for coming back to help people like me! 🥰💖🛼🛼 If you're interested, check out my latest video "Skating Fail!" showing exactly what happens when I start to skate on a rough surface. It's horrible!
Do roller skate skills transfer also apply to inline skating? I’m struggling big time once I get away from the carpeted living room to that scary outside surface where the wheels just want to run off and kill you.
Great question! and one I cannot answer from experience. But I can only assume some of the skills DO transfer, especially when it comes to balance and skater stance. Wishing you luck!

Thank you for your sweet comment! Practicing without skates is a good idea, I start a lot of my videos off skates.

Is it wise to tighten the nuts on the wheels to make them spin less while learning the basics of balancing?
In my opinion, no not really. I suggest you get used to keeping them a tiny bit loose. Good luck!
@@SkatewithTess thank you. Here goes more falls😩😩😩
