    I bought a Excalibur exomax over 20 years ago and had zero problems, which made me buy a micro 335 a couple years ago... the first hunting season my limb did exactly what yours did when I was on a quota hunt here in Florida. Luckily it was the last day of my hunt, because I didn’t have a backup Xbow. They had me send it back to them , and they did fix it, but I have lost confidence in it and it’s now my backup Xbow. I bought a mission sub-1 lite and really like it!..👍

    Hello Rene,
    Nice video and you were helped so quickly I have been waiting for my crossbow for 2 months now .
    As I said I had to send my full crossbow back to the webshop in the Netherlands wherry I bought it,
    apparently it is a big problem to get deliveries from Canada to Europe.
    Next time I send an e-mail with photo directly to Excalibur in Canada that might go faster.
    Greetings Didier.

    • @techtips101

      Hi Didier, thank you, is there a way you possibly could get the bow back to yourself? And fix the limbs yourself? Go to Excalibur’s website and call. They need a picture though, and fedex delivers fast also in Europe 👍 I recently send a package to Denmark😉 I talked to Peter there and he did a great job.
      I have a limb I can send you if you want it, however you should change both of them.
      I hope you will get it fixed soon. I am sure it’s not at Excalibur you will find the bottleneck. Mine broke the night I made the night hunting video.
      Let me know if I can help
      Best regards

    I’ve been looking for a new crossbow for the last 5 years and was really wanting an Excalibur but they have much more cracked and broken limbs than any other brand. Many Excalibur owners end up buying spare limbs for back up.

    • @techtips101
      @techtips101  2 роки тому

      Thank for commenting - i hope not They are buying additional limbs since they are having lifetime warranty. Mine was sent the day after I ordered them and arrived within season so I could change them. I have had NO issues since I changed the limbs, and the bow works perfect.
      With that service provided from Excalibur I would not change to a different xbow at all, they provided an excellent service for me on this matter.
      You will of course have to check your limbs for cracks and deterioration to make sure it doesn’t brake. Don’t let it experience quick temperature changes, and certainly not on a part of the limb if it is pulled back and ready to fire.
      I am very happy with mine as you can see and enjoy the bow a lot.
      Happy hunting, and stay safely
      Best regards René

      Many have broken limbs because people are using the wrong bolt weight. 2X the draw weight is the absolute minimum bows should shoot. If you are going to use “stock” bolts you need to treat it like a hunting bow.

    Hello Rene.
    I got a question, where did you get your new limbs?
    I got the excalibur bulldog 440 and one of the limbs is broken and I can't find the limbs for replacement.
    I really appreciate your videos.
    Hope you can help me with that information

      I contacted the main office of Excalibur in Canada, and since this xbow has life warranty on the limbs they send me two new limbs in the mail after having confirmed by picture the limbs were defect. It took only 8 days and then the repair could progress. I am so happy with the bow and it has now been functioning perfectly since.
      Excalibur showed an exceptional service and made me happy so I could still enjoy the last part of hunting season.
      Google Excalibur Canada and just give them a call, in the thread here there was another guys in Belgium with the same problem and he solved the issue the same way 👍👍
      Super service.
      Hope that helps

    How do you relieve all the pressure and let your limbs relax?

    • @techtips101
      @techtips101  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks for commenting. To relieve the string pressure you will have to get the special string reliever, which you install outside and on top of the other string. then you tighten the new string and relieve the other. The relieve tool can be bought on Amazon and will help you a lot.

      How much adjustment do you have to make on the zero for the tips ypu hunt with or are the shot groups as close as the field tips? I ask because I'm new to crossbow hunting, I've been trying to get as much data as I can ,I have spent a few hours and lost,broke a few bolts and broad heads in the process in my zeroing for my rig I want to make sure I'm dialed in before my first hunt,

    • @techtips101
      @techtips101  2 роки тому +1

      @@uglybirdfarm The shots and grouping are exactly the same as the field tips. there is no or very little variation. As long as you have the same grain weights and center of gravity on the arrow.

      @techtips101  3 роки тому

      thanks for commenting - I don't quite understand, did the bow brake from that or is it still working ? the bows are extremely robust and well manufactured, and I would assume a drop from a tree would only do minor damage. However everything is relative, so a good thorough examination from a professional would be recommendable..

    what did your arrows weigh?

    • @techtips101
      @techtips101  2 роки тому

      Thanks for commenting 👍 I cant recall my arrow weight, but its the standards bolt from excalibur, with a 125 grain tip. I have now modified the bolt since then and have put in a breadcrumb bluetooth tracker with a little additional weight (5 grains). The Xbow, however did not brake because of the bolt nor in or during a shot. It broke the limb sitting ready to shoot, and broke slowly, not explosive, just slowly cracking until it was completely loose. pure malfunction unfortunately.
