I just want to let you know that Claude Debussy isn't considered to be classical but lived in the modern area starting in 1900 and not between 1700 and 1820 which is the period of the classical area
@@josy6364 Debussy's life spanned between the Romantic period as well as the 20th century. Earlier compositions were more romantic. In my opinion, if the old Debussy (grumpy man who had few friends and extremely picky with music he actually liked) heard this, much angry words and baguettes thrown at the piano player.
Jodizzy Another excellent version is by Ethan Uslan, for a competition. In case anyone didn't know, now you do! Edit: autocorrect changed Uslan to island. Changed it back
By the way, all the last songs you played ... let's just say you should change your videos to "themes definitely should play in ragtime" ;) I love your videos!
Claire de lune was published in 1905, in the era of ragtime, so it's not impossible to imagine a young irreverent piano player doing something like that to the song. I enjoy listening to Claire de lune, but I couldn't stop smiling while you played your version.
Literally use to never watch subtitles and just very recently I've started watching everything with them.... Now I after this video, I WILL NEVER TURN THEM OFF.
Wow. I am THOROUGHLY impressed!! 😂 honestly though... Clair de Lune is my favorite classical piece of all time, and to hear that combined with ragtime was pretty much a dream come true. Thank you!!!
I can't play piano but I understand perfectly how difficult is to perform amazingly, I think "exercise only" is not enough to achieve such level, you are gifted too.
Fun stuff. Fur Elise as a rag was done back in the '80s (if I recall correctly) as "The Furry Lisa" -- the whole piece rather than just the opening strain. There are a few performances of it on UA-cam you can find. My friend Vincent Johnson has done a novelty piano version of Claire du Lune. I don't think there's a video online yet but I have recorded Squeek Steele playing it and should upload it soon. Not sure I've heard Beethoven's 5th done though. Certainly P.D.Q. Bach a.k.a. Peter Schickele did a piece that was a riff of it.
A group of grave diggers decided to dig up Beethoven’s body to see if they could find anything valuable. Whenever they untied the body bag, Mr. Beethoven sat right up in his grave and started erasing his music. “Mr. Beethoven!” One of the men cried. “What are you doing?!” “I’m decomposing.” edit: lmao thanks for the likes
Absolutely love this; I always played part 'C' ragtimey whenever playing in public, but now you've raised the bar, and I will need to do entire piece in ragtime ;)

I love reading the subs! :D I know you did movie themes in ragtime so how about anime themes or cartoon themes or even video game themes in ragtime this time?
Beethoven just rolled over in his grave, got up, did a little dance, gave a standing ovation and laid back down.
JeremyK very interesting; but if he was deaf. How could he know his piece was played as a ragtime? 🤔
Californian Eagle 31072003 he can read the sheets, look at the notes he was playing.
But there were no sheets.

I'm not fond of the original piece, as it doesn't seem to go anywhere (stereotypical "boring" classical music), so this version is splendid.
